It sounds like it might be a good idea to create a visual guide for yourself. When I first started, I identified a few card languages I had on-hand and kept them nearby any time I needed to compare an unknown card.
The Asian languages are easy to tell apart. Here are three (I combined Chinese/Simplified Chinese) Giant Spiders:
Notice the forms and shapes of the characters? Chinese/Simplified Chinese has large, block-like characters, with punctuation centered vertically in the line. Japanese uses much smaller characters, by comparison, and you'll often see small characters above the main characters in the card name (I believe these are called "furigana" and are a pronunciation aid). Those furigana are a dead giveaway that the card is Japanese. Korean characters look different, almost simplified and more geometric.
Once we get into the euro languages and Brazilian Portuguese, it gets a little tougher as they all use the same latin characters. Here, you have to look for other indicators:
In German, you'll see things like "ü" (those dots above the letter are called umlauts) and "ß" and the open quotation mark will be on the bottom of the text line (see the flavor text). In French, they use a lot of "é" and "d'" and the quotation marks are « ». Italian can look really similar to french, but you'll see stuff like "è" (notice that the diacritic mark is leaning toward the left, unlike in french), and Italian uses the same quotation marks as english. Portuguese and Spanish are really similar, but Portuguese will typically capitalize the first letters of each word in the card's name - like French, Spanish does not in most cases. Portuguese Spanish also uses "ñ" where Portuguese will use "nh".
And then we have Russian. No explanation needed. Just look for the cyrillic characters.
Once you get the hang of spotting the giveaways, it becomes really easy to recognize printed languages.

I bought a small lot of mostly Tempest-era bulk on CL awhile back. $100 for about 1600 cards. Pretty boring, but it helped me fill in holes in my collection. Then I found 37 wastelands. No, that wasn't a typo.

How difficult would it be to implement a user-configurable "trade limit"? I get inundated pretty often with 10+ trade requests and it is hard to stay on top of them, even if the trade ends up getting canceled. I'd like, may as a premium feature, the ability to put a cap on concurrent trades. Being able to limit how many proposals I get would be great and would ensure that I can give every proposal a good amount of attention. I figure that trades would count towards this limit until at least one of the parties has marked their cards as shipped.

I wanted to take a minute to type this out before I forgot. Willing to bet it's been discussed or that the DB team is already moving forward with it. If not, I was hoping to brainstorm with other users a bit on an implementation for sealed/complete product.
I include "complete" because there are things like the Duel Decks, Commander Decks, the Beatdown box set, From the Vault boxes, etc that people may have complete but not sealed. I think it would be reasonable to be able to inventory and trade those as a unit rather than inventorying and trading them as individual cards.
I believe that we could track sealed products by UPC (we can use it as the UID for the record), under a separate Edition/Set category - call it "Sealed Product" or whatever. We can scrape data from sites like UPC Item DB, etc. For instance, here are the UPC values for the sealed M15 product (even things like pre-release packs):

Excellent - No visible signs of wear on packaging or contents/all cards NM or better
Very Good - Minor shelf wear on packaging or contents/some cards are LP
Acceptable - Significant wear on packaging or contents/some cards are HP
Damaged - Packaging or contents torn or damaged/some cards are Poor condition
Also, we may need some additional flags (like how we track autographed/altered/foil/etc):
Opened - WOTC Factory seal(s) no longer intact
Missing Cards - May be missing varying numbers of cards, but intact enough to be considered by owner a "unit"
Missing Packaging - Original packaging missing or no longer complete
Missing Inserts/Accessories - Missing insert booklets, posters, spindowns, etc
I would expect that we can have products that are partially complete, and if involved in a sale or trade, the parties can discuss the degree of completeness (such as missing the oversized card for a Commander Deck).
Thoughts?

On a related note, I have a trade in progress where the other user can't add a Maze's End to my side. "Maze" and "End" return too many results to get the card into the pop-up list, and "Maze's" doesn't return anything.

I suppose being able to open a case against a seller for suspected price-spike-cancellations is the best way to handle it. If a handful of similar complaints all come in over a period of time, despite the reasons the seller gives for cancelling, then that should lead to a sanction.
