I took a look at your stuff and, man, the prices are wonky right now. Darkness is a $75 card in your trade list.

If possible, could we implement a multi-step sale process, similar to trading? Buyer sends an order, we review the order and then accept it. Right now the order just goes straight to fulfillment. I would like an extra step where I receive the order, and then confirm/accept the order along with the chat functionality from the trade interface (sometimes buyers are looking for things that can't be listed on inventory, as well). That way, the seller has the ability to confirm card condition, etc.

edit: and a way to clear all prices that we've set, returning the tradelist contents to N/A?

It wouldn't be terrible as long as it wasn't used as a way for people to back out of sales due to price changes.

You also need to take into account the fact that some people are going to, legitimately, make mistakes when listing cards.

Just yesterday there was a guy who listed around 800 cards for sale, but mistakenly set some of the prices to $0.00. Instead of someone being an asshole and trying to gank free cards, they told the guy and he fixed it... but this current single-step system doesn't allow for someone who accidentally prices a card at $5.00 instead of $50.00 to catch that error before it's too late.

Right now, as far as I can tell, deckbox only shows me a list of people selling cards that are on my wishlist. That's not to say I don't enjoy window shopping from time to time. I might not have it on my wishlist, but, as an example, if I see someone selling a Berserk for $35 I might pick one up.

Start with the ones that you/other people actually care about and don't bother with the truckload of 5-cent commons.

I think this is a wonderful new service that a lot of people are going to make use of, they'll just use it as a means of selling a small list/set of cards at a time and no one will ever use it as a way to sell their entire inventory or trade list.

Sebi, you should take questions in this thread for a day or so and then use it to compile a FAQ, as there are some very good questions and answers.

Next we want to finally deliver on our promises for a public API.

What I see happening, very soon is, someone (or lots of people) are going to create websites or apps that scrape data from tcgplayer.com and deckbox.com, compare the two and show them sellers that have a card (or multiple cards) for sale less than X% of current market value. Your website rules are going to hold them to that outdated price.

I realize that you guys want the revenue from card sales on this site, but remember that the vast majority of people who are going to sell cards through here aren't professional level stores with a large revenue stream. Losing $10 to a price spike on a card while you're at work or asleep is going to suck, for almost everyone.

Not straight at the beginning. Right now you just get another price column in your tradelist, which you can edit to whatever you want. All cards you set prices for are considered to be for sale.

Are we obligated to sell at the price shown, per website rules?

The reason I ask is, well, just look at card price spikes lately as a result of the Modern events. Let's say that I had a couple Ensnaring Bridge in my sale list (prior to the spike) marked at $11/each, because that was a decent price for them at the time. Then, I go away for a relaxing weekend with the wife and, in the meantime, the card blows up... doubling in price, and, of course, people are all over mine at the $11 price tag because it's not updated/adjusted for the spike.

I guess what I'm asking is -- are we held accountable to updating prices in real time (I know you can set an option to be X% of tcgplayer, but that's been lagging lately)? Or, do we have the final say on a sale without negative feedback or breaking site rules?

I'm looking to turn my 3 Archangel of Thune into 1x Noble Hierarch and 1x Linvala.
I have other standard stuff to add to deal if you feel the 3 archangels are not enough (see my tradelist for available cards).

I would like us to both send at the same time with both of us using tracking + insurance since I'm new to the online trade community.

Edit: I will trade 1x Archangel of Thune for 1x Linvala, Keeper of Silence if you have no Noble Hierarch available.

You're looking to exchange close to $100 in value with no prior trades. Odds are, you're going to have a tough time finding someone to swallow that "send at the same time" part. Good luck.

Cheers!

Brimaz isn't a Knight...

Trade in the works, thanks for all the inquiries!

If you dont find someone to do all 3 at once I can do at least one : )

I'll definitely entertain that if I don't hear from anyone about all three. Thanks.

I have three textless player reward Cryptic Command that I'm looking to trade for Modern Masters versions. The prices for them seem to be all over the place, so tossing out the MP low price and high prices over $80, the average seems to be about $67 for LP.

If you have three Modern Masters versions and are looking to swap, send me a trade and we can work out the difference in price details. Thanks.

On another note, that pluggin is great. Only problem for me is that when clicking on the card that usually takes you to the Deckbox card profile, it links it to the actual TCG player.com page which happens to be blocked at my place of employment haha.

There is an option in the extension to "Replace any existing card link" which is defaulted checked, maybe unchecking that will help with your issue. I'm also a big fan of the Whitelist area, where I can put in specific URLs I want, so I don't see card links when reading cnn.com or /r/Android.

For anyone using Chrome, you should install the Autocard Anywhere extension. It will hyperlink card names that it sees in Chrome and pull in the current tcgplayer low/mid/high prices when you mouse over the link.

...but it seems like a lot of people are trying to take advantage of the discrepancy by proposing trades at the deckbox value before it corrects.

The day Dark Depths shot up in price, nearly doubling from $25 to $50, someone immediately proposed a trade for my four. This is how it went...

wat do you want for a dark depths?
Nothing at the moment. I saw all the copies of this card disappear off TCGplayer today and, right now, there's only two listed at $50/each.
Ave is 32?
That might be what deckbox tells you, but when there are only four of them for sale, all at $50, the average is no longer $32.

So, basically, he knew there was a price spike, but wanted me to hold to the outdated deckbox average price. What a douche bag.

Bump!

Take a look at my trade list, let's see if we can work something out. Thanks!

Also, not in my inventory is a booster box of Japanese Theros that I opened, so if you're looking for a card in particular let me know.

I have four gold bordered Rishadan Port if you're interested in them. I know they're not too pricey so I would give you a good deal on them.

Deathrite Shaman is a very playable Legacy card, so you may want to think twice before unloading them.

One more pre-bed bump.

Fist-bump!

... and that means, like always, I'm missing the lands. So, I'm looking for:

Flooded Strand x4
Tundra x2

Take a look, see if you need anything. I may even trade from Inventory if the deal seems good.

1x Old Man of the Sea (Legends)

Old Man of the Sea is unhappy at you for listing him in the Legends set, instead of Arabian Nights.
