Now to enter my remaining 25,000 cards... wink

lol have fun with that. But it will be worth it once its done.

Alittle more advice since it will only help you, is to sign-up with Paypal (if you dont have an account already) and use Paypal Shipping to send trades of higher value. Alot of traders will ask for DC (Delivery Confirmation) and tracking and/or Insurance. I suggest using Paypal Shipping instead of going to the Post office personally or USPS.com because it will cost you around $5 per label opposed to using Paypal shipping at 1.50.  You can ship around 25 cards in a bubble mailer for far less through Paypal because you can adjust weight for the package instead of paying a flat rate.

Thanks TyWooOneTime and Helios52 for the tips and advice.  All very helpful!!

I'm still a tiny bit foggy on the site's matchmaking trade capability.  So, until I join a "Community", I will not see any sort of recommended trading partners via Deckbox, regardless of my wish/trade lists and local setting (local, worldwide, etc)?  I have not joined any "Communities" yet via the "People" menu.  Currently, I don't see any recommended trade partners in any of my submenus in my user profile page, no matter what cards I add to my trade and wish lists.

I assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that the site would match me up with people who only had local user accounts on Deckbox.org that needed cards that I am willing to trade, or cards that I need from them.  So far, the only way I see to interact with other Deckbox users looking to trade is to inspect their profiles, one by one, via the "People" menu, then select their "Profile" page, and look at the bottom where it says "Trading Opportunities" (using Tradelist or Inventory).  While this works, I know this must not be the proper way to do it because it would take forever inspecting user by user.

Which one of my Profile submenus will I see potential trading opportunities, once I have everything configured correctly and am a member of a community, etc?

Thanks so much again for the assistance!

As far as I know, once you join a group (ie the Reddit traders) it should populate a list on the bottom of your Profile that that will show the number of cards you can offer to someone in your tradelist and what they can offer you from your wishlist. Its been while since Ive joined so I dont really remember if there was something else I did to get that list.

Unfortunately that process you described is pretty accurate in being able to fine a active user with the cards you need. More often than not you can post a thread in either the Trading Post Forum or the Reddit Traders Forum about a cards your looking for and have people come to you if they have the card your asking about. You will still need to look at a person's profile to see what cards they have that might interest you but I think you will agree that having that list right on a person's profile to see the cards you each have to offer one another is either than on some other sites where you have to scroll through an entire list of cards someone posts to see if you can find something. Plus looking through a person's tradelist is half the fun of trading because you never know what you might find that interests you that you werent looking for.

If you are looking for a specific card say, "Fog" for example, if you click on anywhere where you have "Fog" listed (tradelist/inventory/wishlist) it will take you to the database with a detailed page of what "Fog" card does, its printed edition etc, and as you scroll down, you will see what users have "Fog" in their tradelist for trade and where they are located.  This is probably the best way to find the exact card your looking for with someone who has it listed. I should note that some people don't populate their tradelist completely and are ok with trading from their inventory so there are more people who might have it but not have it in the tradelist.

Once your a member of a community, a link will appear on your profile (under My Profile) that will take you to the Community homepage in deckbox that will show its current members and its own forum that will show when a new thread is unread.

In all honestly this will be your best chance to find things your looking for from people because it is the most active and you will get a response the fastest.

EDIT: TyWooOneTime beat me to the reply before I finished mine lol.

Kinda a small thing I guess but can the set icon for the Commander's Arsenal be added to the edition of the cards that you can actually get in the Commander's Arsenal? I have most of them just listed as Promo but there is an actual Judge promo of the Command tower...

Thanks in Advance smile

We just added Commander's Arsenal a couple of hours ago (see new post in Announcements). You should now see the icon properly.

Indeed I can, awesome. Thank you

As TyWooOneTime already stated, the Reddit trade group is often the most active of the trading groups and where your most likely to find what your looking for. Clicking on a card name will also take you to a page that will list potential people who have that card in their tradelist but often it will give you people who are not active traders or only use the site for its Deckbuilding or collection sorting.

You can also go here (http://www.reddit.com/r/magicTCG) and click on the Trading thread thats created each week on the right hand side. There is a new one each week and alot of people on there use deckbox as a means to trade so you can find potiental partners there and then come to deckbox to hammer out the details.

The site automatically updates your lists as you change them so you can log on to 1 computer, add or remove something and log on another PC and it will be as you changed it. However cards that are involved in a trade are not removed from your tradelist/wishlist/inventory right away. they are only removed once you click that you have actually sent the cards out or received them. This is important to remember when trading because people don't look at your active trades will not know that card they could be interested is actually already "traded" and for you to know so you dont accept a trade that has a card that you technically no longer have.

That being said, Welcome!

Im interested in 1. I have Promo Savage Lands if your interested

It usually only sends you an email that trade has been proposed not when trade has just been started.

Just want to point out that just because your avatar says your online doesn't necessary mean your sitting a computer. I know that if I'm logged on at work and I leave my computer on with the page still open it says Im still logged on. I've had people chatting with me thinking I was there in the trade window thinking I was goin to answer when in reality I hadn't been actually online all weekend. By no means is that an excuse I'm just pointing it out.

As for dakkon, I know from my previous trade with him that he was backed up on trades and was working to fix some issues he had with other ones (ie sent me a foil cliff top retreat instead of a foil sulfur falls) it did take alittle longer to get squared away even though we both live in the same state.

An Idea I had when I first saw Bruna spoiled was to throw in a Traumatize and Mill myself to get a ridiculous amount of my enchantments in the graveyard and then just swing with Bruna and get them all back on the attack. Just a thought smile

As for your original question about swapping Generals, the only one that will perhaps be the best for what your looking for is Grand Arbiter. If anything I would consider Isperia, Supreme Judge. Shes got a solid body and already has some evasion and even you get attacked you get to draw some cards smile

This made my Christmas...

Feel free to take a look at my stuff and see if there is anything that interests you as well

What do you value your foil Dreadbore at?

First off, all other trading sites fail in comparison to what you can do and accomplish in trading. I go to other sites and each time I just say to myself "wheres the lists that compare what we both want?" I mean aside from the larger community (only because deckbox hasnt been around as long) I personally see no reason to try any where else to trade.

With that said, something that would be nice which I know helps me when Im looking for a card on my wishlist, is to hover over the little person icon that tells when a person was last online or is currently online. However it only gives the day and month they were last online, it doesnt give the year. So its hard to tell exactly how long someone has been inactive. I see it all the time (espically in new users "current trades") where they offer trades to people that havent been online in 6-8 months. Or if todays date is 12/4 for example, and a user was online 11/29 of LAST year, you might think that they were online last week when its been over a year and week. Im sure if anything this a just a small fix that can be done, its just 1 one that I though about when reading the new trading policies...

Keep up the AMAZING WORK!

Love the new look as well. Really looking forward to that.

"If its too good to be true, it probably is" Pretty much the punchline of magic...

To me, this is a bit worrisome due to the following... Upon looking at Ichorclaw's profile there is absolutely NOTHING that jumps out at me as any sort of indicator of bad or even "iffy" trading history. All I see is "Feedback:+37 out of 38 completed mail trades" and the fact that he changed his status to read, "Family issues, no longer trading." I think this really illustrates that fact that we need to migrate towards a more detailed feedback system, one that's not just a simple top-level +/-1.

There should be ratings for how prompt someone is at sending out their cards, with a 5-star being the same/next day and a 1-star being a week later or... never.
There should be ratings for packaging, with a 5-star being in top-loaders in a bubble mailer and a 1-star being in a zip lock bag inside a regular envelop.
There should be ratings for communication, with 5-stars as all pertinent info provided and questions answered and 1-star being that you agreed on a trade then didn't hear from the guy again for 2-weeks.

These are the things I want to know when potentially trading with someone.

That sounds alot like the ebay rating system roll.

It could work if if the rating used was the avg score of the ratings was used...

Ok well I was close. I havent seen that list before.

Yep, we've changed it to +1.

Thank you very much! I really appreciate it smile

I wondered the same thing. I figured some kind of Reanimator build used it since I have yet to find a list that did...

Sorry to necro the thread, But I thought Id give an update on the situation. I ended up having to settle for an RTR overgrown Tomb in compensation because the person traded away the Scalding Tarn and Verdant Catacombs I traded him so he couldnt even send them back. He basically gave me the ultimatum of take the 15 or get nothing because "I dont really use deckbox anymore" so I dont care what punishment I recieve attitude. He left a 0 feedback for me when I left a him a 0 as well. So I basically got screwed twice on 1 trade.

Anyways thanks to all that voiced their thoughts and opinions on what should be done. I hope this event enlightens everyone to what the proper etiquette is when resolving issues with mailed trades...

I could be interested. What do you value it at?

Some one get this man a beer! Couldnt agree more. Well played sir...

Bumping this to say we've read the discussion intently.

It is very true the deckbox official rules are a bit lax, and unclear on this specific situation, and we are updating them in the near future, along with various other changes which we will describe and discuss in an upcoming post in the announcements forum.

On topic, we tend to agree with Thrun's point of view. As far as we know, other reputable trading platforms use this rule as well (e.g. http://www.magictraders.com/policies/sending).

Although I can understand why for some people it sounds a bit harsh, and the 50/50 option sounds friendly and fair, there is one important distinction that makes this option the right one:

As a sender, you have the option of insuring your shipment, and requesting signed confirmation. So if you want to make sure you don't lose money, you can. It is unfair to make the receiver lose money / value when he has no choice about it.

Thank you very much for the for the clarification and "official" final word
