6th edition swamp has a price of $5, and some planechase planes have a price of $0

Re: Top Cards (Statistics). Mtg Market community. (13 replies, posted in Announcements)
Can we have the option for any given statistic to look beyond the top 10 / open it in a separate page? A lot of the top 10 stuff is heavily focused on Standard (for obvious reasons), and so therefore isn't terribly surprising or interesting.
I also think that even more than the "top 10" of anything, would be the top 10 CHANGES in the past week. The top 10 is unlikely to change much week to week, but I've love to be able to look around at what has suddenly jumped on a lot of wishlists, or disappeared from a bunch of tradelists (especially for non-standard cards). Thanks!

Re: Update on Card Prices (28 replies, posted in Announcements)
Is there only going to be a single "price" going forward? We used to have Min and Mid pricing (and high, but no one used that). It sounds like you're going to collect a lot of (awesome) price info, and have some graphs and stuff which will be cool, but can you say if the current plan is to move towards a single price, or still allow folks to use different pricing mechanisms for trades?
Keep up the great work, and I'm thrilled to resume trading!

Re: More Identification confusion! (3 replies, posted in General Discussion)
Since it has no symbol, it pretty much has to be a core set printing (4th edition or 5th edition). 4th was printed in 1995, 5th in 1997. So unless this is a foreign-language printing (which you would have probably mentioned), this sounds like someone may have taken a sharpie to the usual white border and made it black.

Re: Site-wide card pricing changes (197 replies, posted in Announcements)
Almost all of the cards, especially lower value cards, have a price of zero for me. There's no way I'm going to individually look up prices of dozens of <$1 cards, and then negotiate manually over them with a trading partner, so the site essentially becomes useless for me until then -- trust in a price is what makes the system work. If people can't trust the prices, trading (and buying) basically grinds to a halt for most folks. This isn't really a happy tradeoff for most of us in exchange for the marketplace feature. I think almost everyone sees would see this as a worse version of deckbox than the one we had two weeks ago. Hopefully your plans to fix this come about soon, and most importantly, hopefully the prices are ones that the community as a whole can buy into. Bad or unstable prices are worse than no prices.
Best of luck!

Re: Release 3.0: Deckbox Market (92 replies, posted in Announcements)
I just received my first order. I was disappointed to see that there was no way to "accept" the purchase and then automatically add the cards into my inventory and remove from my wishlist -- I thought that integration into my inventory was one of the big selling points with the new marketplace function, but it doesn't seem to do that very well yet, at least for buyers.

Re: Multi-step Sale Process [Request] (8 replies, posted in Site Discussion)
would just the standard feedback process work? If a seller cancels an order, and the buyer feels like it was due to a price spike, he could ask mods for permission to leave negative feedback? Then buyers would see certain sellers have low feedback and wouldn't be as likely to follow through. Some certain number of negatives would lead to ban from selling?

I don't think anyone here is asking for the removal of a public inventory option. We just don't want it to be the only option.
Agreed. Each member should have the choice.
Agreed. And I like and miss the ability to trade out of inventory as a toggle/option. Sometimes I'm willing to trade out of inventory, and like the option.

I'm attempting to make a purchase from user "reliquary tower". When I go to check out, it has me select my address (which I did), and is requiring me select a shipping option -- but there is nothing from the drop-down menu, and I'm unable to proceed. Any suggestions?

Topic: Suggestion - add "trade out of inventory" option back? (4 replies, posted in Site Discussion)
Hi Sebi and crew.
Thanks for the update, and good luck with the new selling features! I just wanted to ask about a feature that seems to have disappeared -- the option to toggle "trade out of my inventory" in addition to tradelist. I don't always use it, but sometimes it's helpful to see if there's something in my inventory I can dip into to round out a trade; I'd like to be able to toggle that on like we used to. Was that removed intentionally?
thanks,
R

Topic: Gold Border cards for trade (0 replies, posted in Reddit MTG Trades)
Hi all,
Since some of you folks play casual/commander, I thought I'd post here that I have a bunch of Gold Bordered cards, in case anyone's looking for a cheaper alternative -- or if you find them to be cool or pimp.
I don't have many awesome items, but the most notable are (and I have multiples of some of them):
Eternal dragon
Masticore
Hatred
Daze
Replenish
Chrome Mox
Cursed Scroll
Thran Dynamo
Sulfuric Vortex
Glimmervoid
Blinkmoth Nexus
City of Brass
My full list is here: http://deckbox.org/sets/248213?s=i&o=d -- I keep these cards separate from my inventory, and I value them around 15% of "face" value.
Feel free to start a trade if you have any interest. Thanks

Re: Release 2.2.1: Inventory sorting by count is back (15 replies, posted in Announcements)
For me, I add a bunch of cards I need to my wish list, but often times I already have them and didn't know, so it's nice to be able to see if I already own cards in my wishlist, by sorting one by the other

Re: Release 2.2.1: Inventory sorting by count is back (15 replies, posted in Announcements)
Not working for me. When i try to sort inventory by wishlist, it takes me to the wishlist. When I sort wishlist by # in inventory, it takes me to inventory. I assume this is not as intended?

Re: USA traders, why do you count out Canada? (31 replies, posted in Reddit MTG Trades)
Minimum shipping cost is $1.10 I believe. Up to 2 ounces. I ship to canada, so long as it's mutually agreed that tracking isn't necessary.
edit: I don't use bubble mailers or customs forms. Just toploaders taped to some paper, and make sure the envelope isn't too thick. Works fine for me with relatively small numbers of cards.
Not really worth it to ship large numbers of cheap cards, though.

I've got a bunch of stuff for your legacy deck in a MUD deck (in my inventory, not tradelist), that I might be willing to part with for your Tundra. I'd like to hold onto the wastelands, but I've got Karn, Opal, metalworkers, Forge that I can part with.

you've significantly surpassed me now, Greg! (gratz!). My trading's definitely slowed. I do wish there was a top 10 list somewhere though. I haven't seen anyone else over 400, so it's probably you. Or, to put it another way, if there was someone with more trades, one of us would have probably noticed.

It indeed seems that way. It also has an annoying side effect in that if I have many versions of a certain cards in my inventory (say things like Naturalize which is reprinted many times, or if I give very detailed grading), updating or adding one of such card would updated the "Added at" timestamp for all versions, and making the "sort by update time" feature less useful.
yes, I noticed that as well. Thanks for reminding me/adding it. The timestamp is further evidence of what's going on in the database. Hopefully there's a way to fix this.

Re: Completed trade not decreasing cards in wishlist (6 replies, posted in Site Discussion)
I've also noticed something related:
Lets say I have 10 demonic tutors. I've specified that 5 of them are Revised, one is unlimited, and 4 are unspecified.
Lets say that I put any one of those tutors -- say the unlimited one -- into a trade.
Now lets say that I add any one NEW tutor... OR I edit any of the information in ANY of the tutors (for example, I specify that one of those 4 unspecified ones are in played condition).
Now, the tutor that I have in my trade (The unlimited one) becomes "unlinked" from my trade. In that trade, it now shows that I have an unlimited tutor in the trade, but it shows up Red, as if I don't have it. Now, if I click "Send", and let deckbox take the cards out of my inventory automatically -- it will NOT remove ANY demonic tutor.
What seems to be happening is by adding or editing any detail of any card, that hte deckbox database deletes ALL instances of that card, and replaces all of those instances with NEW instances. Thus the inventory is correctly updated, but any trades using the old instances of those cards are now broken... and the remove-from-inventory feature stops working.
