The importer will look at printingId, if present will ignore the others. If absent, the note field will be considered as you mentioned.
This was the plan all along but I did the first parts (exporting the data so people can use it if they have scripts / spreadsheets), but did not do the import part, and I kept postponing because of very large feature release. So it's been dragging on for months now

If this bug is causing you so much outrage I envy you, you must be using exquisite bug-free software day to day. No such luck for me.

As far as I can tell, if you trade them out or manage to sell them, they'll all still treated the same way and removed from your inventory, correct? It's just QOL more than anything?
Yep.
This is not trivial to fix right now, and depends on the stuff I am currently working on, which is the inventory-built deck linking of cards.
It's high priority after the current stuff is released later this week.

I submitted a ticket, but for me the default tag button is broken. It does not show any of my tags when I click the button.
Which button does not show the tags? There is one in filters, one on each card detail row, one in the "With Selected" actions button on top of the table etc.
Also, question: Is there a limit on the amount of tags we can use? I wanted to add a tag showing the way that I acquired each card, and I was going to be very specific with dates and stuff but if there is a limit then I will find a more generic way to do it.
No limit, but there is no nice way yet to organize them (folders or smth), so it might be cluttered if you make hundreds of them right now.

Hmm it will not retroactively automatically merge stuff in your inventory.
Why do you have many duplicated entries though? Is this from importing?
Yep, it's a regression from the release with the tags feature. It's on the todo list to check out.

If you add cards to your tradelist directly with the Add dialog, they are added to your inventory as well.

It would be nice to be able to sort by Card/Collector Number, specifically in the table, but also in filters. If I'm understanding it properly, the cards already know what Card Number they are (as seen in Editions and CSV export). It just needs to be visible to the user.
When you sort by edition, the card number is used as the secondary criteria automatically.
Printings are also shown by default sorted by collectors number in the per-edition listing (accessible via "Editions" from the left menu).
You can use the "select all" checkbox, then in the prompt "select all in listing", and then use the Remove option from Card Actions.
Question about adding cards to the inventory with a free account (so no access to the cool tags). Previously if I had multiple rows with the same options selected (condition, set, etc) those rows would be combined to a single row when I clicked save. Now it seems to not be doing that anymore but keeping them as separate rows (none of the rows have any tags applied). Was this intended?
This was a side-effect of the tag work, yep. I will take a closer look at what's needed to restore that functionality.
Also just a small bump on this. If you can describe how to do the split, that would be awesome.
Right now you can do it from the panel that opens on Edit, there is an icon that appears on the left of a row on mouseover.
I want to add this to the dropdown as well though, similar to the decks one. Soon (TM)
I had a trade where the printing the other trader wanted was listed wrong, so I went into my inventory and changed it to be the correct one
I (partly) fixed the interaction now. If you change the printing or details in your inventory for something in a trade, now the entry in the trade will be "disconnected", so you will see the old version, and with "0" counts for inventory to show that is what you added initially, but you don't have it anymore.
You can fix it by clicking the inventory count and setting a 0 to the old row, and the new count on the new details.
Does that make sense?
Has the "Is Reserve list" function been intentionally removed?
Still there, it might be lower in the filter list, but it's present.
What is the use case for tagging in inventory? I don't really get why people wanted this? Maybe i am missing something cool?
The main usecase is to catalogue in which boxes cards are stored in physically / which are loaned out / which are set aside for something / put in binders / etc.
