I have had problems on about a dozen deckbox trades. Out of 750. However the only three trades that I lost cards in were to three established users (with 50+ feedback, that I'd traded with several times in the past) that disappeared shortly after making multiple big trades. The other trades were with newer traders where I simply requested that they sent first. They never did, so I canceled those trades and moved on.
So yeah. I guess I don't see how this would really help much.

Maybe you have a point. As long as the new person sends first, I could care less. I don't really see the need to limit the $ amount though.
How about a simple 'The person with less feedback always sends first' rule?
Geez. $7/month is chumpchange. I can't believe some of these comments. I personally use this site 24 HOURS/DAY, 7 DAYS/WEEK. I pay $125/month for cable tv and spend less time watching it than I do making trades & keeping my inventory on deckbox. AND IT'S JUST AN OPTION!! If you don't want to pay $7/month, then nothing changes for you. Keep using the free site with an ad banner like nearly every other website in existence. Granted, most of these improvements are not mind-blowing - but I'm not sure what everyone expects. Running a business requires hard choices. I, for one, applaud your efforts Sebi. Keep up the good work.
All of that said - I probably still won't opt for paying $7/month. But I might change my mind. And I'm certainly not going to blast you for trying to make money on something that you've worked so hard on for several years.
My advice would be to ask the person you are trading with 'Do your cards have any noticeable edge dings or surface scratches? I am extremely picky about card condition.'
When asked, I've had dozens of people reply 'Yes, my NM so-and-so has a few dings but nothing bad' or 'Well, if you hold the foil under the light, the surface is somewhat cloudy but it still looks great.' And then I would politely back out of the trade and pursue other options.
My apologies if this has already been addressed.
Can the trade page be formatted so the addresses and buttons are lined up vertically with that person's list of cards? for instance - instead of both addresses being placed below all of the cards involved in the trade, can each address (and the sent/receive buttons) be below that respective person's list of cards on either the left or right side? it seems like there is plenty of room.
thanks. this website is great.
