Card Pages

In an earlier controversial release, we have changed the card pages to work as dialogs (except on small screens). This has been received not so well, and it is time now for us to admit that the idea has not worked. It was not intuitive nor too usable, and we can do better.

We have now re-structured the card pages to include most of the information that was before split into tabs, in what we think is a much better layout. Awaiting your feedback, as always.

Maybe I'm alone here, but I'm actually sad to see this go.  I agree that the tabs weren't ideal, but the ability to quickly search and then add something to my inventory/tradelist/wishlist right there, inline from any page was very useful, and I found myself using it all of the time.

Either way, I understand and definitely appreciate all of the improvements in general.  This site is amazing!

I agree with that, maybe you can make a setting to switch between those two interfaces. I came to this site when the new card pages were there and maybe not perfect, but far better than the old pages. Now clicking on 100s of cards from some set and adding them to my wishlist is way too painful to even try that. sad Not to mention that details about different editions of card that I own (and btw it's the most important info to me) are now on left side, stripped down from their average price.

I've just noticed that not all cards from 5th Edition have their numbers: https://deckbox.org/editions/33-fifth-edition

ie Psychic Venom's number shows as just #.

Please also add the flag "stamped", right now I'm using flag "promo" to mark cards I have stamped, but since I will be no more able to do that, I would like to have separate flag for that. It also let's people know that I have some card they might want and I want to get rid of it cheap, but they won't be supprised when they receive stamped card.

Hi!

Few days ago I've found deckbox.org and it's pretty cool. Currently I'm entering all my data into it. But adding some more features would make using it a lot easier for me:

- On "Magic the Gathering Editions" page there can be added another column that will show how many cards in an edition/expansion there are and how many of them I own ( Like: Fifth Edition [375/400] ).
- On each edition's page there should be simillar table that will show how many of basic lands, commons, uncommons and rares from that edition I own, and how much there are in total.
- On edition's page, where there is the list of all cards, I would like to see one more collumn, that will show how many copies of that card I have, so after looking and seeing that I'm still missing x cards from that edition, I can click on it and see what exact cards I miss (and then click on them, and add them to wish list).
- In a window that I add more cards to database I can select why this card is unique (ie. it's foil, with signature, or promo), but I think there should be added more options, like "stamped", or "altered art"

Look what I've found:

http://www.ebay.de/itm/2x-Plateau-Dual- … 418638dd7f

Two Plateau for modest price, they look quite good, except for the fact that on the bottom of each card there is a date (1995) + copyright, the date suggests it's 4th Edition, but there was no Plateau in 4th Edition. Is it some German specific edition, or is it a scam?

(...)  I do think it's wrong to edit the price manually down to $1.50 though because I think a lot of people don't realize that it has went up to at least $10.  If you leave the price high, then they can go do their own research and put their own price on it.  But at $1.50 you leave it open for people that trust deckbox to end up in a bad trade. (...)

I think the issue isn't about manually editing (btw I didn't realize it was worth so much right now, and if I remember correctly, I have tons of it from Alliances, Sixth and Portal sitting in one of my common boxes), the issue is that the algo used for setting up the prices should be tweaked to take things like that into consideration.

For example the algo should take into consideration people's trade and wish lists (so supply and demand), if amount of cards of one type on all trade lists is more than what is on wish lists then there is more supply than demand, and price should be lowered by let's say 10%, if it's other way, price should be increased.
The other way would be to make an average price of all sucesfull trades and another average price from all sell orders, and then make one average price from them, but calculate it with differen weights: ( average_transaction_price * 5 + average_asking_price ) / 6. That would give transaction price 5 times more weight, than asking price.

There are 2 copies on TCG right now for $450 and $500 respectively. Ebay has none available. ABU has none available. SCG has none available. Note that SCG doesn't update their prices when they are out of stock. Looks like $400+ is the going rate.

Pardon my ignorance, I've been playing and collecting MTG cards when there was almost no internet, and I'm just back and haven't yet grasped all usefull sites. What TCG stands for?

Also today I've noticed that Spatula of the Ages is labeled as common, althought it should be uncommon (according to silver egg on the card), and there is only one version of Storm Shaman from Deckmasters, while there should be two of them (21a and 21b).

Foiled Storm Crow from 7th edition shows as $ 435 card, I'm happy that I own such expensive card, but I'm afraid it may be just a mistake. wink
