The Pre-release party is a way to play more magic for less money! If you play at the first or second event, you can use your card pool of one of those events to play the Party. If you didn't play at the first or second event, didn't like your card pool, or just want more cards, you can also get a new pre release kit at below listed price, which includes prize support.

When: any day from Friday 13 July until Friday 17 August
Where: At Le&Le Games
Fee: FREE (bring your own boosters to play the League)

During 5 weeks, you can play as many league matches as you like. Gather up victories on your league scoring card. After 5 weeks the final standings are reported. You receive planeswalker points per match win and maybe some prizes?

Your Cardpool
- Make sure you have 3 M19 Booster packs
- Sign up for the League at one of our MTG events
- Open your packs and build your deck
- You receive a League Match card, on which you can register your match results
- You receive a League Deckbox
- Each week on Friday you may add 1 booster to your cardpool
- After losing 3 matches, you may add 1 booster to your cardpool

Your Deck
- Build a deck of 30 cards, from the cards in your cardpool
- Add as many basic lands as you need (12/13 is recommended)
- You may modify your deck all the time, but you can only use cards from your league boosters

Play Matches
- Whenever you want, you can find a League participant and play a match
- A match consists of 1 game, but you may decide together to play best 2 out of 3.
- Write the opponent’s name on your League Match card, before you start the game.
- Report your win (W) or loss (L) on your League Match card.
- You may play the same opponent multiple times, but ONLY if you played 2 different opponents in between.
- You can play more matches than you have lines on your League Match card.

> STORE SCHAMPIONSHIP

Once everybody got used to the new cards and owns a couple, its time to put them to practice. To celebrate there will be a Store Championship event, where you can play Standard with the new cards in your deck! Also for participating you receive awesome promo cards.

You must all be excited to find out all about the next Player of the Year event! Well, here it is! Please note that there might follow some modifications to the content below, in order to tune the event(s) in a way that works best.

This year you can receive invites for two Qualifier events and of course the real Player of the Year 2018 event in December, which are all multi-format events! To get an invite, you can do three things: Become a Planeswalker of a format; score many points; or play many events. We also suggest you delve into Pauper, because this is one of the seven formats you will be playing when you qualify for to battle for Player of the Year 2018! No worries, we will help you! Let’s break it down and get into more details.

Schedule of 2018
The year is divided in four seasons of three calendar months each. January - March, April - June, July - September and October - December. The first three seasons qualify players for Qualifier events. In the free Qualifier events we offer a nice prize support and the #1 qualifies directly for the Player of the Year event in December. The fourth season qualifies directly for PotY, but this season all points over the year are taken in account.

Planeswalkers
This year, as you might have noticed on the PotY standings overview, we keep track of each players performance in five formats :

• Standard (includes Budget Standard)

• Booster Draft

• Eternal (Modern and Pauper)

• Chaos Draft

• Pre-Release

The player highest ranked in a specific format, carries the title of Planeswalker of that format. You can only be one Planeswalker at a time. If you are ranked first in two formats, the (new) second Planeswalker title is passed on to the next ranked non-planeswalker player.

Invites for Qualifiers
At the end of each season we invite 16 players for the Qualifier event. Five of those are the five Planeswalkers, to reward their excellent performance in their respective format. Another six players will be invited based on their overall performance, based on points standings at the end of the season. Here Planeswalkers are not taken in account. The remaining five seats are reserved for Grinders, five players who did not make Planeswalker title or top in the standings, but played many events in the season.

Byes for Qualifiers
Planeswalkers receive one Bye for the Qualifier event.

Prize support at Qualifiers
At Qualifier events the top two win one Bye for the PotY event and the winner of the Qualifier gets a direct invite for the Player of the Year event in December. For the top 8 contestants of the qualifier event there will be prize support.
Players not making top 8 get to play a Chaos Draft to battle for extra prizes.

Qualifier Event Schedule

Invites for the Player of the Year event
Of course we will follow the tradition of inviting the previous Player of the Year to defend the title. And as explained above, three Qualifier winners will be invited.
In the last season of the year we do not reset the standings for Planeswalkers and count all events played during the year. This will bring us five Planeswalkers who receive an invite.
Thats eight seats filled. Four seats are given to the top four players overall standings during the year, not counting already invited players. And the remaining three seats are again for the top four grinders (most events played) that did not manage to get their invite otherwise.

• 5 Yearly Planeswalkers

Byes for Player of the Year event
In addition to an invite, yearly Planeswalkers receive one Bye for the Player of the Year event. All invited players who have 400 or more seasonal points, receive one Bye. Players who made Top two at a Qualifier event receive one Bye. And one person without Byes, who played the most events in the year, gets one Bye. Byes accumulate, up to a maximum of three Byes per player. Byes can not be passed on to another player.

• 1 for no byes and most events played (highest ranked as tiebreaker)

Prize support for Player of the Year event
As you may know we are making small reservations at each event during the whole year. This is estimated to net us a total of six displays (or equivalent) for prize support at Qualifiers and the Player of the Year event. Booster drafts played at those events are considered prizes too. Based on our estimations we expect to have at least four displays as prize support for the main event in December. Enough for a booster draft for all 16 participants and still have a spicy pool. Exact numbers will be announced at the beginning of December. But we can reveal that besides a shiny trophy, we plan to have a custom playmat made for the Player of the Year, to show off the status while playing magic!

Top 8
At all events the below schedule is followed to decide a winner after a cut to the top 8 players. Since we are only 16 players, making top 8 is not the most complicated thing to do. But making #1 after swiss rounds is! So we designed a top 8 graph to give the best four players after swiss rounds a minor advantage in the form one or two byes in the next four elimination rounds.
The top 8 starts with eighth-finals where #5 - #8 fight for a seat in the quarter finals. #1 - #4 play as well, to decide who gets to sit out the quarter finals with a Bye.

Lunch Draft? With what boosters?
At each of the events we will have a scheduled lunch break. Of course you may all run to McDonalds or our favorite sandwich bar. But we can also bring our own food and share with each other. We would like to suggest everyone to bring some food/snacks of their likings and offer everyone a taste of it. Also drinks! For these special events we make an exception to the house rules and we are allowed to bring our own drinks (to share) to the venue.

Your Cardpool
- Make sure you have 1 IXALAN and 2 RIVALS OF IXALAN Booster packs (save them from your Pre-Release winnings!)
- Sign up for the League at Tuesday, Friday or Saturday MTG events
- You receive a League Match card, on which you can register your match results
- You receive a League deck box
- Each week on Friday you may add 1 booster to your cardpool
- After 3 losses, you may add 1 booster to your card pool (Max. one per week)
- Adding boosters to your card pool you do in this order: RIX > RIX > XLN > RIX > RIX > XLN > ect.
- If you start the League later, you may add one booster per missed week.

Your Deck
- Build a deck of minimum 30 cards, from the cards in your cardpool
- Add as many basic lands as you need (12/13 is recommended)
- You may modify your deck between games

Play Matches
- Whenever you want, you can find a League participant and play a match

After a long year with over 100 tournaments, we settled on a top 16 of toughest to beat players from Targu Mures. These 16 were invited to our yearly event to battle for the Player of the Year title! A free to play event with an extra large prize support!

Qualified players:

In the afternoon of Saturday December 16th the battle started. The contestants were divided in two pods of 8 players for an Ixalan Booster Draft, based on even/uneven ranking in the yearly standings. Pirates, Dinosaurs, Merfolks and Vampires clashed into each other to have the first victims fall out of top 8 reach.
After 3 rounds, 3 players were undefeated and secured their seat into the top 8: Razvan in Pod 1 and both Penciuc and Kristof in Pod 2, coming both of a Bye in the first round which they won by making the finals of the PotY Qualifier event earlier this year.

Then the Standard rounds started to settle the remaining 5 seats at the top 8 tables. Two rounds later the dust settled down:

Quarter Finals
The quarter finals eliminated the first 4. Bits of bad luck (mulligans) was involved, but that's part of the game.

Semi Finals
Only 4 remained and they all could smell the trophy! Notably all 4 decks in the top 4 were mainly constructed of Penciuc's collection, so a shout out to him for helping so many to play the game we all enjoy!
Unfortunately Penciuc had to pull the shortest straw when fighting Kristof, who took the first spot in the finals with a two to zero victory. As for Zsolo and Robert it was a bit more exciting, but Zsolo took that match down. 2-1

Finals
It was Mono Red aggro versus a Blue White combo deck that tends to gain tons of life. So it was up to Kristof to find his lifelinking creature and get it on the battlefield as early as possible.

But... he didnt. Zsolo wins 2-0 and is our 2017 Player of the Year!
After a whole year playing almost every week, lots of practice and passion for the game. The Player of the Year title is well deserved!

For those who didn't make top 8 it was not over yet. the 8 remaining players drafted Iconic Masters to fight 3 rounds to win two boosters per match. Cornea won the side event being undefeated!

- First time to play with the new cards;

> GAMEDAY EVENTS

Once everybody got used to the new cards and owns a couple, its time to put them to practice. To celebrate there will be two Game Day events where you can play Standard with the new cards in your deck! Also for participating you receive awesome promo cards and there will be an extra large prize pool!
- Boosters as prizes! 2 per participant in the prize pool, divided over the top 50%.
- The Winner of each Game Day event gets to show off his or her skills forever with a special Playmat!

We will have 2 Game Day events!
1. Saturday 5 August: 17:00
2. Sunday 6 August: 12:00
Participation fee: 30 RON, or 50 RON for two events!

> HOUR OF DEVASTATION LEAGUE

When: any day from Friday 11 August until Friday 15 September
Where: At Le&Le Games
Fee: FREE
Prizes: Surprise

During 5 weeks, you can play as many league matches as you like. Gather up victories on your league scoring card. After 5 weeks the final standings are reported. You receive planeswalker points per match win and maybe some prizes!

Your Cardpool
- Make sure you have 2 HOUR OF DEVASTATION Booster packs and 1 AMONKHET Booster pack
- Sign up for the League at Tuesday, Friday or Saturday MTG events
- You receive a HOUR OF DEVASTATION / AMONKHET card pool checklist
- Open your packs and register your cardpool
- You receive a League Match card, on which you can register your match results
- You receive a League card Storage box
- Each week on Friday you may add 1 booster to your cardpool
- After picking up 3 losses, you may add 1 booster to your card pool (Max. one per week)
- Adding boosters to your card pool you do in this order: HOU > HOU > AKH > HOU > HOU > AKH > ect.
- If you start the League later, you may add one booster per missed week.

Your Deck
- Build a deck of minimum 30 cards, from the cards in your cardpool
- Add as many basic lands as you need (12/13 is recommended)
- You may modify your deck between games

Play Matches
- Whenever you want, you can find a League participant and play a match
- A match consists of 1 game, but you may decide together to play best 2 out of 3.
- Each player may take ONE free mulligan per MATCH
- Write the opponent’s name on your League Match card, before you start the game.
- Report your win (W) or loss (L) on your League Match card.
- You may play the same opponent multiple times, but ONLY if you played 2 different opponents in between.
- You can not play more matches than you have lines on your League Match card.

Basic Rules that apply to Pre-Release, Release and GameDay events
* Registrations close 5 minutes before starting time!
* Doors open 30 minutes before starting time.
* Discount 'packages' can only be acquired by paying the full fee of the package when registering for the first event you attend.

* Pre-Release-, Release- and GameDay events are subject to the Le&Le Games Event Policy
* All event participants have to comply with the Le&Le Games house rules. This means you pay 5 Ron entry fee at the door, unless you have a valid Le&Le Games Membership. Pre-Release being an exception to this rule.
