I've been working on this black/white exalted deck for a while and I'm still having a lot of trouble with it. I'm right at about 25% win / loss with it, which is terrible. A lot of the time's that I've played it I've either gotten mana screwed or end up pulling too many cards that are too expensive to play, or not enough creatures and too much control, or somehow I'm stuck with a bunch of plains and no swamps (which doesn't make sense based on the mana distribution). I know that some dual colored mana would be helpful, but they're expensive and hard to find in packs. So when I lose, I really lose bad, or it's a struggle. When I win it's usually very one sided. I'm not sure where to go from here with it. I may have just wasted a bunch of time, energy, and money on a tactic that just doesn't work. I'm not sure.

You can see the deck in my profile. Or I can list it here, either one.

well if your building an exalted deck, you must have 4 of the sublime archangel, get rid of all the creature kill except put in 4 smites or a playset of Righteousness. put in a playset of Mourning Thrull, this is mana friendly as well as it gives you life gain and a early threat that's hard to block, Nip Gwyllion is another prospect. switch out Duty-Bound Dead for more Akrasan Squire and if you couple this with a full playset of Aven Squire, this can lead to a second turn swing for 3. have 2 Deathbringer Liege for your end game. depending on your creature colour make up, you can look at Edge of the Divinity to be a good way to boost your creatures or use loxodon warhammer or infiltration lens(both I can trade easily). go a full playset of O-rings to solve your enchanment\artifact and indestructible creature problems. Zealous Persecution is a good way to clear the field of chump blockers and mana ramp creatures as well as serving an opportunity to go full out attack. if you want to spend cash on this deck, yu can prospect mirran and phyrexian crusaders for scary mid-game threats. if you decide to go full white than Sigiled Paladin will be something to look at

I find that cards like Battlegrace Angel and Nefarox have too high of a converted mana cost for a decent exalted deck. Also, you'll want some dual lands for it. Whether it's Guildgates, Temples, or Shocklands, it'll help you out a lot in getting the deck off to a running start. Above, datis_7 suggested Mourning Thrulls, but I find a great alternative to that card is Vault Skirge, as you can get it out on T1 by paying 1 colorless and 2 life. Having a T1 lifelink flyer helps TONS. You can check my decklist for a reference on how to make it much quicker, I just recently updated it. I still need 2 more Sublime Archangels.

Essence harvest is a huge asset in Exalted decks, as your creatures retain their exalted bonus until end of turn. You can drop the Harvest during second main phase to deal a heap of damage and gain it back in life.
