    I'm not convinced it's a great option because it only hits one creature. Not a good turn 1 play. Turn 2 I can drop a Nyx-Fleece Ram which gains me life and dodges bolt. Turn 3 I can drop a ghostly prison which deals with all their threats.

    have you considered oppresive rays? one drop white enchant creature - can't attack unless it's controller pays 3
