Notes

Thermo Alchemist + 2 Tandem Lookout would be interesting instead of Delver, because I get additional synergies, a solid blocker, and a card draw combo. This could become a more long-game variant, not a hard combo deck anymore. Firebrand Archer would be another alternativ that is more in-your-face but less of a blocker.

Another creature option would be Spellweaver Eternal with a slightly similar function, just not that much power, but still a solid way to get damage through. Probably better than Elusive Spellfist even, allthough it is not hard unblockable - and the Spellfist has a bigger butt. But is it better than Jeskai Sage? That one can at least cantrip.

Augur of Bolas could provide a solid blocker and someone who provides gas to the deck. This is less of an active option like Alchemist or Archer and more of a support role for the main combo.

A solid mix of creatures probably would be Cyclops, Spellfist, Alchemist, Augur and Lookouts. They have the best chances of survival. All in all having 16-20 creatures could work. Delver does so with flipping in Pauper, too. Possible distribution:

- 4 Thermo Alchemist
- 4 Elusive Spellfist
- 2 Augur of Bolas
- 2 Kiln Fiend
- 2 Tandem Lookout
- 4 Nivix Cyclops

Flame Slash would need space in the sideboard, to take care of creatures with power 4. But of course only if I actually see such creatures - it's dead against bigger ones and smaller ones are handled by Lightning Bolt quite easily.

Electrickery and Echoing Truth could be boardwipes that could go in, depending on what I am up against. Especially with tokens and elves or goblins it might be helpful, as those are low-power and usually come in multiples. And Echoing Truth can take care of enchantments, too, even after they hit the table.

Mana Leak could be additional counters that are easier to cast than Counterspell but still can counter allmost everything early in the game (and even later if the opponent doesn't hold up 3 mana). I could even move the Mana Leak to the mainboard instead of the Counterspell, because of the easier casting costs, and move the Counterspell to the sideboard. At the turns where I want to kill with my Kiln Fiends or Cyclopses, my opponent won't have enough lands out to play around mana leak.

Relic of Progenitus would provide graveyard hate in case I hit something using the graveyard. No idea how many GY strategies are out there where I need to take care of GYs.

Mizzium Skin could provide hexproof to my creatures to give another way to protect them (kinda like Apostle's Blessing does, only without providing unblockable). The question is what is more efficient in the overall sense: Hydro/Pyroblast or Mizzium Skin. I think the blasts are more flexible in the way that they can destroy permanents, whereas the skin can protect in more ways from other colors.

Fling could give the deck reach when it can't be unblockable or in response to edicting my creatures. On the other hand, Temur Battlerage actually takes care of that much better. But might still be worth it as a one-of in the sideboard.

Artful Dodge could be interesting, because for UU you can play it twice and so get two boosts out of a Kiln Fiend. It doesn't cantrip like Shadowrift, though, so that's why that one is in here right now. But overall it might be an interesting card to play.

I really should get me some Manamorphose, as they can produce missing blue mana and essentially reduce my deck to 56 cards.
