Notes

The infamous "Rainbow Vale Deck"...also called "Screw Your Neighbor". One of the most hated and underpowered multi-player decks...underpowered because most opponents just ignore you and hated because it just screws with players. One of my favorite casual multiplayer decks of all time. There are several variants of the deck detailed below as one objective was to always keep my opponents guessing as to what was coming out next (even opponents familiar with the deck theme).

1) Play Rainbow vale. Enchant it with Cursed Land and Psychic Venom and pass it around the table (the new controller takes 1 damage each turn or taps it to take 2 damage and then continues to pass the love--usually right back at you).

2) Enchant opponent creature with Creature Bond, then Howl From Beyond it to a big size and Terror it (or see 6 below).

3) Hide behind Serra Angel, Dakkon, and the Djinns. Dakkon usually gets pretty big by the time opponents realize the minor threat of the deck...and by then you can use 2 above to do close to lethal damage at instant speed to at least one opponent.

4) Steal creatures with Rubinia and sac them to the Life Chisel. The Demonic Tutor is really for finding one or the other parts of this combo.

5) Ping opponents with the Tims--trust me, everybody loves this.

6) Icy and Royal Assassin-ate creatures (sideboard out all 4 Terrors and two of the the Howls or one each of the Cursed Lands or Psychic Venoms).

The sideboard also had Warp Artifact x2, Spirit Link x3 (put the Spirit Link on Tim or Dakkon or an opponent creature), Control Magic x3, Stasis x1, Royal Assassin x4, and Icy Manipulator x2.

Another cool thing to do was this: Creature bond and Spirit Link one of your opponents' "big creatures" and then when that opponent attacks someone other than you, cast Howl From Beyond to maximize the damage to that other opponent, then gain a mad amount of life, and then Terror the creature after combat damage is dealt to really hurt the attacking player. It is win-win-win--gain a lot of life, do a lot of damage to 2 players, and remove a threat from the board.

The current deck setup was a mid-1994 version. An alternate version (after Ice Age release in 1995) included Magus of the Unseen x4 and Ashnod's Transmogrant x4--use the Transmogrant to change an opponent creature into an artifact and then steal it with the Magus. That version ran more Life Chisels and Ashnod's Altar with Recall or Reconstruction or Drafna's Restoration to bring the Transmogrants back to hand.top of library. If someone tries to kill the Magus, Counterspell if you can or just sac the artifact creature to the Chisel or Altar. Sacrifice overrides Indestructible--opponent pulls out Blightsteel Colossus, awesome!--steal it with the Magus, smack someone with it and then if an opponent tries to get it back, sac the Colossus to the Life Chisel and gain 11 life or the Altar to get 11 mana. Pull the Tims out to make room.

Another variant of the deck included Festival x4 and Siren's Call x4 for an "opponent only" board wipe--cast Festival (opponent cannot declare an attack) and then Siren's Call--all opponent creatures must attack, but they cannot, so they are destroyed. Works great to do a lot of damage after you Creature Bond big threats...especially when you Howl one of them (cool thing is Festival and Siren's Call only cost 1 mana each, so really cheap--2 mana board wipe). "Oh, no, your opponent just played 2 Eldrazis"...no problem, just pay 4 mana to Creature Bond each, then during that player's upkeep pay another mana to play Festival and then another to play Siren's Call...that will be lethal damage (most likely). Also, Annihilate does not trigger because the text on Festival is "Creatures can't attack this turn." Remove the Terrors and Tims to make room for these cards.

Yet another version of the deck also ran Ankh of Mishra x4, Armageddon x4, Wrath of God x2, Zuran Orb x3, Island Sanctuary x3 and Jayemdae Tome x3, and Balance x1. You also can run Land Tax in this version. For that variant make sure you play a couple of Tims and at least 2 Ankhs before you Armageddon (so the Tims can ping all the while your opponents try to rebuild and take 4 damage for each land from the Ankhs) and also tap your lands for mana and then sac them to the Zuran Orb before the 'Geddon. If you have Land Tax out, activate it now to pull 3 lands from your library. This version of the deck was really not fun for opponents, so I did not play it much. The Island Sanctuary prevents opponents from attacking when you do not draw a card during the draw phase (use the Tome during main phase). If you have more money than you know what to do with, the Sanctuaries can be replaced with Moats and the Tomes can be replaced with Mystic Decree (get rid of Festival from the deck and use Siren's Call to destroy all attacking creatures--text on Moat is "Creatures without flying can't attack." and text on Mystic Decree is "All creatures lose flying and islandwalk."). I no longer have those cards, but, ah, good times...
