Some cards I'd like to keep in mind as additional bits of removal at different slots on the pod chain: Sunblast Angel, Fiend Hunter (preferred over Banisher Priest due to abusability with Restoration Angel).

-1 Plasm Capture

An infinite mana combo (+Deadeye Navigator) is a little stronger than a card that can generate some mana once. Gives more options at the 7 slot, as well.
