Notes
Manage to borrow a Nykthos and Mutavault from a friend at the store. Made curving a bit smoother, but muddled hands in later games with non-white mana.
vs Mono-Black: 1-2
Streaked in for a first game win with an aggro start
Second game, slower start as I sideboarded more mid-range stuff, got overwhelmed by Pack Rats
Ditto with third game, hit 34 life, die in about two turns. Erebos seals the deal.
vs Jund: 2-0
Get singled out for a random decklist check as we present decks to each other for cutting. Got allotted an extra 15 minutes.
Streaked in with Ajani and Precinct Captain doing the work. The player managed a Stormbreath Dragon and was trying to race me. Brave the elements swing for lethal finished the game
Second game, Stormbreath Dragon popped again, but had a Mizzium Mortars ready for it, swing for the win in about 2 turns. We look through his library for his Anger of the Gods, took about 35 cards before he finds all 3 of them clumped within 8 cards of each other.
vs Gruul Devotion: 2-0
First game, managed to do alot of aggressive work with Soldier of the Pantheon, got stalled slightly by a Boros Reckoner. Archangel manages to save the day
Second game, really close. Mizzium Mortars in opening hand took care of a Stormbreath. Precinct Captain+Soldier of the Pantheon > Burning-Tree Emissary and Fanatic of Mogis. Was a 1 life, to his 2 life. He only had a Boros Reckoner. Block with an Archangel, and he either deals the damage to me (negated by lifelink) or the damage to Archangel (I had 3 other guys on the field).
vs Boros Burn: 1-2
First game, on the draw, he burns my creatures out. Manage to tick Ajani to -8, bringing 21 cat tokens with a spear on the field.
Second game, Had a nice board prescence. Takes it away with a Chained to the Rocks, Lightning Strike and a Mizzium Mortars. Die
Third game, stabilize after getting a fiendslayer paladin, path of bravery and some tokens from captain. He tears the enchantment, and an Elspeth popping tokens for two turns didnt help against Chandra's Phoenix. Die
vs Mono-Black (white splash):
First Game, get only creature in starting hand removed by a sac spell, overwhelmed by pack rats
Second game, out of control nightveil spectre, pack rates, and high CMC hand. Die
