Hey Scott, this looks like a 1 vs 1 EDH deck. I am wondering who is your general? You don't seems to have any 5 colors creatures....
Ill add the following cards:
1- ghostly prison
2- privilegied poisition
3- tezzeret's gambit

Since you don't have much draw nether ramping spell, I suggest you to raise your lands count to 38 or even 39....
Also, since you will cast a mast removal spell about everyturn, you can remove the birds, bloom tender, lotus cobra and sylvan caryatid. They don't bring much help. Only to cast your first planeswalker... then they will either die in a mass removal spell...
As for the mana base, I know it will be a freaking pain.
remove your mizzium mortar, its not good.
Also, I don't know the "rules" with your friend. But if they allow everything, I strongly suggest to add armagedon and the like. Cast 2-3 planewalker then armagedon "et voila!"

  Thanks for the feedback! It's a 1 vs 1 - forgot to add my general (Child of Alara). I'll definitely add Privileged position to my wishlist too. I've also got a Ghostly prison coming in on trade for this deck - good call.
  
  I've actually found mortars to be surprisingly good against commander decks in my meta, so it's staying in for now. Plus the small ping spell works wonders against an early aggro.
  
  The playgroup I have only allows for modern-bordered cards, so Armageddon (and lots of other tech) is out.

    You can add an opal palace as well as a mana confluence and grand coliseum. It can be a good fix.
    Venser the sejourner isn't good in this deck. You only have 4-5 creatures with decent comes into play effect. Ill get it out.
    as for your planewalker, Ill focus on the one that protect themself like putting creatures on the bord, destroying stuff, etc..
    I don't like lianna vess.
    I did a child of alara EDH deck focused on gods.... its pretty fun to play cause its pretty violent ;)
