I wouldn't say that it is an alternative per se, because not everybody is guaranteed to go look at his trades.  I do agree that it is a good thing to do in addition though.  But in my case, I plan on just canceling the trade, so that won't really do anything, and it really only works if you want to have a useless trade sitting there for quite a while.

Feedback Reputation points, and Trade communication logs exist for this purpose.

You can't leave Feedback that actually affects their reputation unless you complete the trade, and you can't complete the trade unless they finish all of the steps as well.  So no, that isn't why they exist  (Although, I agree that's why they should exist, the system is just flawed in that manner).

Right now, if they drop out and hose you, you're screwed.  Therefore, I totally agree with alerting people to bad traders such as this.

I had very much the same experience with this trader, although I requested that he send first, so I'm not out any cards.  After two weeks of pestering, he told me he would send them "tomorrow", and that was two weeks ago.  He has yet to mark them as shipped or tell me anything to the contrary, and I have yet to receive any cards.

So, I wouldn't say that this is necessarily just communication failure.

lol, no worries, I saw your other thread.  I'd say your first course of action is probably to start fleshing out those deck ideas you have, so you know what you need to complete them and then start there.  Beyond that, you can also just run through a list of the recent sets to see if there are any cool cards that you'd rather have.

You have nothing on your wishlist, so I would have no clue what to offer.

I guess I can see UR Delver considering the support that UR is getting in the next set, but RUG? I'm not really sure what to make of that...

G brings in such things as Quirion Dryad, which goes pretty well with the Delver shell.

Any more updates that we were going to make to the deck?  Just curious since everybody had gone quiet for some time now.

And ugh, Woodland Cemetery just jumped up to $11-12.  I can't decide if I should try to get the last one I need for a playset now so that I can play this deck, or if they'll end up dropping in price later on.  If anybody has one that they want to trade, I'm open for negotiations. smile

I'm looking at our trade right now.  You're probably just confused because the trade interface uses your real name if you have it in your profile, so mine doesn't show my username.

Okay, this looks amazing.  Keep up the great work!

Are you asking for a way to store sealed, unopened booster boxes?
Or are you storing your cards in booster boxes and looking for a better way of storing them?

Sent a trade.

I'm in the process of cataloging all of my commons, so if there are any W/B/R commons that you're looking for, they won't be in my deckbox yet, so feel free to ask and I can check if I have them.

I can definitely say that I am glad that I've never traded under those terms.

The most I've ever had a swing of is a dollar or two, and I've had a whole bunch of cards traded for a few, in both directions.  Unless I'm giving something up that I still have a use for, and as long as I'm getting something that I want in return, I don't see the point in needing to have such a drastic skew in values.

Value is so relative.  I value a lot of bulk cards for my EDH decks at the same as your standard/legacy cards, and vice versa, because I generally only trade for things when I want them, and if I want them, then what is the difference if I have to trade one big card to get them?

If you actually discussed it and agreed upon using DC, I'd say that you should at least bring it up.  If they don't offer to do anything about it, I'd say that neutral feedback would probably suffice; I think negative feedback is a little drastic in this case.

But, in general, if it is a minor issue, I find it best to try discussing it with the person before taking any action.

Even if we drop the BoPs, I think we need to replace it, at least partially, with something else that provides ramp, otherwise we're going to be way too slow in getting to our actual end-game (any of the expensive enchantments, preferably multiple of them).  I'm not sure that there is much to help us out for ramp at the moment though, without knowing the full RTR list (which will hopefully include BoP).

Predatory Rampage doesn't give trample, so as long as they have a few creatures to chump block with, it isn't really all that useful.

Another option for an Overrun effect, plus giving everything trample, is Craterhoof Behemoth.  Or Garruk Relentless (flipped).  A few Rancors would also do the trick.  And Revenge of the Hunted makes them block only one creature, so essentially lets everything else though with ease.  So I think we have some other options if that is the effect we're looking for.

Also, relinking the deck here, so I don't have to keep going back to the first page.  Deck: http://deckbox.org/sets/221643

Yep, I agree that we can probably cut one Champion of Lambholt.  And if we did want to make it rotation safe, then we'd have to cut both the Reassembling Skeletons and Birds of Paradise (although, most people thing that is coming back).  I don't really think that we want to cut too many creatures though, personally.  And sadly, at the moment, there isn't really any good mana ramp creature to replace the BoPs if they aren't reprinted in RTR.

If I had to pick some other stuff, I'd say that Predatory Rampage isn't going to do us a whole lot of good, because a lot of our creature are very small, and even then, your opponent still gets to choose how to block, so they could block in a way that the fewest number of creatures die, and then we don't really benefit from it all that much.

And while Exquisite Blood is an awesome card, I think that we have a few too many very expensive enchantments, and this one doesn't specifically build on the theme that we have going.

I think we can probably knock it down a few lands, simply because we have a fair amount of ramp with our mana dorks and a lot of our creatures are very low mana cost, but probably no lower than 22 lands, because we do have a lot of high cost enchantments.

If we're going to weed something out, I'd say that the Fogs can probably go, because they almost go against our end goal.  We essentially want our creatures to die, so blocking a big attack and killing most of our stuff off isn't a huge deal.

I'm with imsully on Detain as being weak relative to the other mechanics thus far.  I mean have you seen overload?  Not only has Mizzium Mortars made Searing Spear completely worthless, but the fact that either it or Street Spasm can produce Bonfire of the Damned results for just a few more mana... include Goblin Electromancer to reduce the cost of those spells, and you can see where an entire deck of Bonfire effects isn't too far off (although they likely made overload to control the demand for bonfires).

I'd disagree.  First off, Searing Spear can target a player, while Mizzium Mortars cannot, which can be a huge advantage in lots of situations.  And, while I agree that Overload is amazing, I don't think that the additional 6 mana required to utilize it on the Mortars will be used all that often in constructed play.

Detain can lock down blockers for a big attack, or even a planeswalker before it can go ultimate.  If some Golgari is using a bunch of abilities on creatures like Jarad, then they could possibly be hosed for the rest of the game if you are able to keep detaining the creatures that they're depending on.

I'll agree that the mechanic itself isn't as immediately changing of the board state, that doesn't mean that it can't make a huge impact.

Hrm.... not sure how we could/should add those here... any thought on what you want to use as a placeholder?  I can put a note at the bottom to denote what the placeholders are.

I'm not suggestions that we add them now, it was just a little side discussion.  If you want, you can put them into the notes on the deck as a reminder for later, but I think we should build an actual working deck for right now.

I'm glad that I think every pack I open will be exciting and worthwhile but as far as the Pre-Release I'm thinking I'll probably wonder what if I had picked another guild no matter what I pick since I'll wish I had gotten other cards, lol (Accept maybe Azorious, not too impressed by Detain as a mechanic and UW aren't my colors.

Really?  You don't like Detain?  I'm not a UW player either, usually, but I think detain is a very interesting idea.  It is powerful, in that it allows you to possibly lock down their main forces for one turn, but not too overpowered, because there isn't any actual removal done.  The thought of combining Detain with all of the flickering effects from AVR just blows my mind.

Worst case scenario you could send a 1.50 less of cards, or don't worry about it. In the grand scheme of life, whats a dollar fiddy gonna do?

Well, we sent at the same time, so that isn't really possible, sadly.  And while, yes, a buck fifty isn't going to bankrupt me, the reason that I'm here trading for cards rather than just buying them is to hopefully save money by trading away cards that I don't necessarily need, so that I have money available to do things like FNM and drafts.  Plus, I am a big fan of standing on principle. smile

Definitely not just you.  I'm very much looking forward to opening up a box of RTR, but now I'm having a lot of trouble deciding what I want to play, because all of the guilds actually look really good.
