You are right, this might be a considerable issue. I'm just still apprehensive a bit about adding another user-settable flag for those (not completely sure why... just feels a bit not right). I feel it might lead to people just misusing the flag, marking stuff etched foil when the card does not have such a printing, then adding it to trades, etc...

Regarding proxies, that one is easier, it does indeed need a flag, and special handling for pricing calculation. On the list.

Working on some infrastructure updates, bringing the backend framework updated to current-day versions. Db updates and other info was waiting for this stuff, which as usual way exceeded the initial estimation smile.

Regarding the flags meldon44, I'm currently leaning in favor of what scryfall is doing, making the collector numbers strings instead of integers and adding those printings in parallel. I think that might be the cleanest way...

Your solution sounds good in principle but adding it as a flag has the confusing problem that people could just mark any printing as "etched", regardless if it exists or not. Having it as a separate edition would be easier to have it be "consistent with reality".

I agree about there being too many editions, I think there's already too many and with how many promos Wotc is printing it's clear whatever we do with etched, this is going to be a problem regardless... So in principle I'm leaning towards a separate edition, although I don't really like it...

I think it would behave like the trades behave now, which is that it only "applies" changes to inventories/wishlists when accepted, not when proposed.

Communicating is already possible, there is a "discuss with seller" button that makes the order visible to the seller before it's completed and paid for, and can be discussed smile

I didn't think too much about the ui&flow yet, but just as an initial idea: you'd just make a trade as you can now, and at the bottom of the card list you can add an "Extra sum to be paid <sum><currency>", that can be edited by both parties as if it were an "extra card" or something like that. If the person that is to receive that sum wants to accept the trade and does not have a seller account he will first be offered a button to go create one before he can accept (or propose).

Regarding this, I wanted to ask if the numbers are of your own preference, or something that is "standard" in the market? I already have a similar formula that is used when you open the "collection value", but I want to add a new optional column in general listings to show the "adjusted" price of a card based on the formula. The numbers I use now are slightly lower than yours: 0.85;0.7;0.5,0.25.

Ah, sorry, missed it, seems I did not read all the posts attentively enough.

It would only require a seller account if you want to receive money. Whenever you stand to receive money from somewhere and you do not have an attached verified paypal account (into which the money would go), you will be prompted to create a "seller account".

Since the concept of the flow of propose-discuss-accept-finalize is actually closer to a trade than an order, perhaps an idea that would communicate this is a more acceptable form would be to fold this feature into trades instead of orders.

In this scenario the trades would be expanded such that:
- multiple prices will be shown for each card ("seller price", "market price", and I would like to add pricing in wishlists as well which would act like "buyer/buylist price")
- both parties can discuss as normal in a trade
- at the end of the trade, one party can "pay for the difference" in the trade, which would attach an order for the agreed upon amount

It sounds at first glance as possibly too complex and confusing especially at the beginning and for new users, but perhaps there is a nice U.I. solution to make it understandable and also flexible at the same time...
