Canada Post is not too kind when it comes to DC. As far as I know, the cheapest way to get DC is to use Registered Mail which is an additional $8.25 within Canada and $14.50 to the U.S.A. and internationally. That's if it's lettermail. If you use a bubble mailer, it qualifies as Oversized lettermail and tracking is simply not available. So, if DC is required that would eliminate any small trades due to cost and larger trades requiring bubble mailer don't even have the option. These rules would basically prevent me from trading.

If anyone knows otherwise, I'd love to know.

I believe the gist of the wording is that each sender is responsible for their own delivery, and the only way to prove delivery is to use delivery confirmation.

So, would it be better for the deck color to be based on the color of mana sources in the deck, rather than on the cards that are cast? In that case, however, we end up with the same scenario if someone is using a dual land for the wow factor, but has no intention of tapping for the second land color.

In the overall scheme of things, how important is that designation? If you know the deck is only two colors, is it really a big deal?

Doesn't it stem from Wizards' long-standing view that a card with dual mana options is automatically considered both colors. Thus, with Judge's Familiar, the card is both a Blue Card and a White Card simultaneously.  Either Protection from White or Protection from Blue would prevent damage or effects based on that card.  You may only be casting it using one of its possible colors, but effects that center on the other color would still be valid.

Since the OP posted, the ability to export to CSV was added.  You'll find it under the View menu when  looking at your inventory (View > Export).

In the next release (likely out before the end of 2012), inventory will now reflect each card edition on a separate line.

The idea of adding the collector's number has been mentioned numerous times.  I don't believe it will be in the pending release, but have hopes we will see it in the future.

Another scary duo in green I've seen lately is Wild Beastmaster alongside Champion of Lambholt.  The buffs are there, and the Champion's ability to limit blockers is often a game ender (they can't block anything weaker than than the Champion, and the Beastmaster gives the Champion additional buffs when they attack together). Throw a Giant Growth (or similar buff) on the beastmaster, and suddenly everything is swinging for +4.  Add in your flail, and we are looking at "swing with lots" and "none of those creatures can block" for the win.

Yes, a pick list would be a great addition.  Since the next release is only (per hints dropped by Sebi) two weeks away, it is something I'd love to see in the following release.

I wrap all my multi-card shipments (anything requiring more than one top-loader) in a sheet of paper anyway.  If I had a pick list I could use to pull the cards (rather than balancing my laptop on a bedpost), I could use the same sheet to wrap the cards.

Sorry, Sebi.  I just realized that I posted a lot of feedback on the Alpha in this thread.  I tried to move those posts, but was not able to do so.

What about using Mask of Avacyn to protect your Nightshade Peddler?

Oh!  Hey!  I thought of one other feature I had thought about, that I feel like would be really awesome to have.

Add a card called "Cash" or "Money".  It represents one dollar/euro/etc.  That way, I could have:

Have:
1 Liliana of the Veil
8 Cash

For:
1 Geist of Saint Traft

I already do plenty of cash transactions through the site, but it would be nice to have a cleaner way of doing it.

I like this idea.  Perhaps a "card" that can only be added on the trade screen (so as not to come up when entering cards by name into inventory/tradelist/wishlist).

A few currency "cards" may be needed: Euro, USD, Yen, etc.?

Alternately, there could be a text or memo field for each trade, with a corresponding amount box.  That way, people could list other things, too (e.g., boxes, life counters, and nearly any other trade-able goods), and the price/cost/value.  Currently, such things get listed in the trade chat, but I believe an option to add in the value of other non-card items would be beneficial, if not now, then in Deckbox 3.0 (after a long and well-deserved rest for bringing us 2.0!).

After typing part of a card's name, pressing tab or enter adds one to your inventory. If you then TAB again, write a number in the box and ENTER, you get the same effect as we had on live.

Thanks for clarifying that, Sebi.  I can live with that.  :-)

The View > Show Value option in Inventory does not show $0.00, regardless of what is in my inventory.

<Q> What happened to the option to see the cards in the order of the most recently entered when adding cards to inventory? I like the option, especially when adding lots of cards.

The following happens under Chrome.  Would anyone out there be willing to try to recreate this one under FF or IE?

If you have only a few items in your inventory (so that the list is not very long--doesn't require a lot of scrolling), if you try to edit the version of the card (via card details), the edition chooser bleeds off the bottom of the page, making it impossible to see edition options that fall below the bottom bound of the screen.

I just wiped my inventory in the Alpha, so as to add some cards I'm considering in a local trade--a quick way to see the by-edition value.  Anyway, while doing so, I noticed something.  I'm a heavy keyboard user.  Once entering data, I don't use the mouse unless absolutely necessary.  In the current (live) system, I can type a name, tab to select a name (once matched to the typed text), and then can tab to a quantity field.  In the new (alpha) system, it appears that the only way to change quantities while adding a card is to manually change it--as soon as I tab to select the identified card name, one of that card is added to my inventory.

I don't know where everyone else stands, but this one is a bit of a step backwards for me. I often am entering more than one copy of a card at a given time.  Am I the only one who uses the current system this way?

I feel those financial pressures, but have, admittedly, been a little loose with the purse strings as I've gotten into formal play (coming off four months unemployed, it was really nice to be able to go out and just buy some things because I wanted them).  This site has been a godsend, since I've been able to trade things I acquired or already had for some of those chase cards.

Question, Sebi: Will the site be taken offline in the hours leading up to the crossover, to make sure we aren't entering/changing things that won't make the transition?

It's worth noting that Naya is a pretty expensive deck right now, but to be honest alot of decks for standard are getting unreasonably expensive

I believe they are changing the format name, soon.  Going forward, it will be called "$tandard"

lol

Personally, I like the following equation:

Thragtusk + Cloudshift = Happy (Gain 10 life and get a bonus 3/3 creature)

Dang.  Spoiled my fun.

Are you still open to revisions to the trade policies? Some sections are still somewhat ambiguous.  Example (emphases added):

2.2. The sender is responsible for the cards to get to the destination, and to prove that he sent them. Only the sender can obtain delivery confirmation proof and insure the cards against loss or damage. If a problem has occurred, please resend your part of the deal, return the cards you received (if applicable), or make appropriate monetary restitution (the parties involved can decide on which one of these options is best). As a sender make sure you use signature-required delivery confirmation and insure the cards for larger trades so the cycle of lack of proof can end.

Proof of mailing (sending) is different than proof of delivery.  In order for the document to go unchallenged, it should be unambiguous.  I'm a wordsmith, so I'm more than willing to help review and revise, as needed.

Also, consider using bulleted lists to detail trader responsibilities. Such lists typically help one to avoid the ambiguities that can arise when composing a paragraph of prose.

Shoot me an email if you would like me to assist with that documentation.

Yes, saw those rulings on Gatherer.  There's one player at our LGS who relies primarily on Jace, AoT in his deck.  If I have the chance, I'll try my little stunt, and then, when he goes to flip them, I'll ask him to hold on and call for a judge.  Worth a try--even if only for laughs later on.

If it were allowed, though, it would be a game-changer.

The MtG standard deck validator is still flagging decks larger than 72 cards as invalid:

"This is an incomplete  Modern deck. It is not listed in the decks section and does not count towards the total decks count. A complete MtG deck contains either between 60 and 70 cards or exactly 100 (for EDH)" (emphasis added)

I'm assuming the same warning appears for any of the other formats (other than EDH) that are larger than 70 cards.

There is no upward limit on the number of cards in a MtG deck.  In fact, some win conditions (e.g., Battle of Wits) require a player to have larger libraries.

You pick one of your opponents when Jace’s second ability resolves. The ability doesn’t target that opponent. All players may see the revealed cards and offer opinions. You (not your opponent) choose which pile is put into your hand and which pile is put on the bottom of your library.

Exactly.  All can see when revealed, and you can take opinions, but nothing explicitly states that they must remain visible when you put them into the piles.

For everyone's favorite draw ability, cards are revealed before the chosen player separates them into two piles.  Nothing on the card state you are required to put them in face-up piles.  Has anyone tried putting the cards face down? The cards were revealed earlier.  Is there some unwritten rule that states they must be placed face up? I didn't see any rulings on Gatherer, so I'm guessing no one has tried it yet.

I just might do that if I encounter little boy blue at my next LGS event.
