Nighthawk said it best. Having your cards enter the void and popping back into existence at a time completely unknown to you or the recipient can be unnecessarily stressful. Customs forms aren't horrible, just not ideal.
3) I definitely would like a bit more drawing in the deck, but I'm not sure what to cut for it. I'm not really feeling Read the Bones (Scry 2 is nice, but 2 life and Sorcery speed are not)
True, sorcery speed is a bit lame, but the ability to set up future draws is huge. Here's what will happen with Read the Bones:
1) Two good cards on top, keep them both.
2) One good one and one bad one, keep the good one, and go one card deeper
3) Two bad cards, lay possible flooding, and you cycle them out to see 4 cards off 3 mana
Setting up your draws is crucial card advantage, arguably more powerful then the draw itself. This card does both. At its worst you see 4 cards, at its best you pick up two more needed spells, and then possibly draw a 3rd your next turn. With the way aggro decks can be lately you can't afford to have too many bad draws
I mean I can see where he's an issue, but realistically, that's one card out there that you're fearing. I would argue that he's easy enough to deal with if you toss in a few Celestial Flares in the SB. It never targets him as it targets a player, not the creature. But really, if you're only afraid of one card, odds are you're doing just fine.
Is there something else potentially threatening that I'm not seeing? Flares already made the sideboard, so no worries there.
I really wish somebody on Cockatrice could properly explain to me how to update for Theros. They provide the link, but I'm not understanding the how-to at all. I want to test, dang it!!
Any chance I can get you some Lifebanes and Desecrations toward that Thune?
put in Akroan Hoptite asap :3
No worries he was an easy in
20 Creatures
4x Soldier of the Pantheon

My big weakness is likely Blood Baron of Vizkopa. Outside of Mizzium Mortars, Elspeth is my only answer to that. Chained to the Rocks doesn't touch that though, so frustration will be had. Then again, the chain does take down any gods that are fully devoted, which could be huge...
So to replace Pillar of Flame, I was thinking 2 God's Willing in the main, and a single Chained to the Rocks in the board. Thoughts?
Keep in mind that Pillar of Flame is rotating.
Oh right. >_< well
I'm a huge fan of Truefire Paladin as almost a "poor man's Boros Reckoner" as it leaves you options on the turns you play Temple of Triumph and are holding a turn to move up your curve.
I'll try out the swap because you may be right given how ridiculously threatening an open RW makes an opponent on the brink of dying (also turns Akroan Hoplite into a must block)
Is Pantheon automatically better than Boros Elite? I was having trouble there

Current List. Haven't had a strong chance to see what boarding is like, obviously
Oh I kept thinking it was 3B for some reason! Derp a derp
Is Read the Bones really that good for the mana? Maybe I'm spoiled from too much Legacy/Modern. Curves are also really different in Standard >_<
I'm toying with the idea of running a couple Altar's Reaps. I think they make a nice upside for mana dorks that are no longer needed, and can serve as a sort of brainstorm when combined with Reaper of the Wilds
Yeah I suppose. Plus at a 3 I might still be able to fit the sweeper below him, and the 3-spot is pretty soft compared to 2 and 4
I'm thinking the red god will fit some kind of RBW Tokens in modern more than a RU Pyromancer Standard. Still, my inner Johnny sees all the combos
Do you still see Lifebane as a must 4-of? I've been unsure about that. As you saw, my list has been more committed to the "Nic fit" as I have so named it
I forgot Aetherling >_<
I've been back and forth on Steam Augury. I suppose if I run the Chimeras then I should commit to running them. Storm breath Dragon seems huge. Maybe not quite Thundermaw Hellkite, but the fact it can get bigger through Monstrosity is pretty sweet.
So Guttersnipe is eh, what about Young Pyromancer? Is my opinion on that fairly accurate? Also, what about Nivmagus Elemental, simply because it's fast? And in control mirrors a fast win-con?
No worries, I'm just really open to criticisms and discussion since this will be my first attempts at Type 2 competition. I'm with you on the whip. I don't see the upside at all. As for Erebos I agree underworld is better draw, but possibly in the board to lessen the power of revelation.
Yeah I'm opening a thread for two different Type 2 decks I want to see opinions on both, because I see either one being viable.

The idea is simple enough. Control until you win. Guttersnipe is a fair win-con, although I think Spellheart Chimera will be strong. With Snapcaster and Reanimator type decks rotating, graveyard hate should be less present than usual. I also wondered about Young Pyromancer/Purphoros as a win con, although YP is obviously easily susceptible to removal and no help with combat presence. I also want to consider the UB Scryland to make Far//Away an optional
Other cards I think will make it in are Omenspeaker (a better Augor of Bolas? Debatable), Voyages End, and Swan Song will easily see side board. Maybe Curse of the Swine with Ratchet Bomb synergy??
Yeah, we do have lots of hard mana coming along. Until we get more soft spells and a complete scry land cycle I suppose things are messy. My ability to speculate Standard is admittedly weak. I was strictly Modern and some Legacy until now. I want to get into tier Standard play because competition is muh more accessible for the format.
What's the thoughts on Hythonia? I know you mentioned he has a nice sweeper that will end games but is that too mana intensive? Also, I'm having a hard time judging Whip of Erebos and Erebos, god of the dead. An indestructible Draw enchantment that kills the gain off S-Rev seems great, but is the draw worth the cost outside of desperate situations? And is the reanimate on on the whip a playable ability at all?
Almost forgot to ask too. If late game is more applicable now, is Deadbridge Chant a possible finisher?
So not even when we have all 10 Scry lands you think we'll see efficient 3-color. That's sad well, I love Nic Fit, and the concept of Nic Gorgons seems interesting enough. Should I perhaps focus on creatures with effective regeneration like Lotleth Troll? And with the fact I can run so much spot removal, is Grim Reaper a possible side-tech?
I wish I was just willing to play aggro. It's just not my nature. Although I'm pissed RDW gets Magma Jet
I was hoping for some insight into thoughts and opinions on BGW standard. Some cards I personally think would fit the build:
Gods Willing
Thoughtseize
Elvish Mystic
Sylvan Caryatid
Voice of Resurgence
Gleecmane Lion
Scavenging Ooze
Abrupt Decay
Cartel Aristocrat
Selesnya Charm
Golgari Charm
Putrefy
Advent of the Wurm
Desecration Demon
Erebos, God of the Dead
Spear of Heliod
Hero's Downfall
Reaper of the Wild
Archangel of Thune
Obzedat
Gaze of Granite
I really like the synergy between Cartel Aristocrat and Reaper of the Wild. I want to focus on abusing the privilege to scry aggressively, and then use Erebos to draw when necessary (especially if multiple triggers ensue)

^^ Cards already in Standard and the counts they might see in the build
I'm a fan of this list, and I enjoy storm decks. I can pilot High Tide very well. I understand TES and ANT well. For the life of me though, I am horrible at Doomsday Piles. Seeking advice on "doing the math" and whatnot
