Hey guys!

I'm looking to get a certain art worked island, specifically the Avon art island from M11.

http://gatherer.wizards.com/Handlers/Image.ashx?type=card&multiverseid=213617

Not sure what you would want for some standard basic lands, but hey! if you have any, give me an offer. I'm looking to get enough to support all of my blue decks.

Sorry, no Rals, Voices or Blood Barons.

These are literally the only things out of this set that anyone is looking for. I don't think that you're going to have much luck here, bud. I'd just suggest that you trade some of your stuff in for bulk, or list things up on ebay, tcgplayer, etc. and just buy the temples.

Hey guys!

So i'm brewing up a nifty new little list; Mono Red control [http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/mono-red … xperiment/] [Not yet on deck list...]

It has a couple of themes in it, including Burn, Land Destruction, and beater aggro. Hammer of purphoros and Ember swallower are the main pieces to this deck, though Young Pyromancer can also do some work.

My mana base looks pretty jank, but it's meant to be ready to sac lands to Hammer / Ember often, and be able to get a couple of other necessary things done that red just cam'e do right now.

Mercurial chemister and steam vents are for card draw, and the black is for Toil out of Toil // Trouble.

I'm looking to make this a tier 2, maybe even up to tier 1.5, list, and would love some input on it. It is being tested against every deck I can find, and is evolving after every match. Im accepting all input on this list as well. Do note that I don't want to change the core of the deck too much, so no suggestions too radical please.

Thanks for checking it out!

Personally, I would start with the deck, and just use an M13 / Inn / RtR mana base (Shocks and checks).

That's what I did with my modern deck. Lands are definitely the most difficult pieces to get, and more people are willing to trade creatures, etc, for your stuff. Lands are typically used as currency. If you want to just get a simple start into modern, just build a basic version of your deck and evolve it over time. Deck lists don't change too often in these formats, so you should be good for some time.

Stuffy doll cannot be destroyed. Lethal vapors destroys creatures. Logic dictates that stuffy doll does not get destroyed.

There really are no standard draw spells that are too useful right now in terms of being cheap and netting cards.

There's Divination, Azorius charm, Izzet charm, glimpse the future, quicken...

Or for a cheap scry ability, there's Omenspeaker, voyage's end...

Not too much to work with. I would love it if they reprinted preordain or ponder for standard. Since they're banned individually from modern, and since Delver has rotated, I'm sure that a reprint wouldn't be too harmful. Pretty sure it's not going to happen though, so we're just going to have to wait for a quality cantrip.

Personally, I would go with the Boros deck. Its aggressive enough to survive a lot of things that you're bound to see, and probably has the highest chance of winning.

To replace the O-rings, Chained to the Rocks is a solid choice for WR, and they're not too costly.

Aggro strategies are always the best things to go in with if you're going in to a tournament blind. They don't depend on on the opponent doing things, and can usually win pretty quickly if the opponent is durdling.

Good luck tonight!

Well, as we all know, not every game sees the perfect curve, and I am sometimes faced with no board presence in the face of an Obzedat.

the RWB lists that I see nowadays are packing tons of removal, and there are a few instances where I just cannot recover in time to beat out an obzedat. I think i'll go with the Hybridization, though, since it's really the only instant speed option right now. Hopefully BoTG gives us something to work with on that front.

Hey guys, happy new year!

So I've got a question that's been brung up in my testing of MUD for standard.

I seem to have a lot of difficulty with Obzedat. If you take a look at my MUD list [http://deckbox.org/sets/565942], you'll see that just about all of my removal is sorcery speed... How can I change this to deal with this guy? I don't want to have to rely on Rapid Hybridization, but is that really my only option here?

Thanks for any advice.

If you're looking for a MUD deck with a more original feel, check out my list. It's pretty different from the typical build, but it puts up similar results. Some tweaking may need to be done for your meta, but the concept is essentially to play a true tempo strategy instead of straight aggro.

Have you considered that the market may have frozen? Not every card will have a price change every day, so unless all of your cards are at an incorrect price, I don't see too much of an issue.

It says that your deck is incomplete because you only have 1 of every card in your deck, for a total of 26 different cards that are recognised. You should probably fix that so people will know what your deck is actually made of, and will be able to actually give you feedback and advice.

I know, I'm bumping a two week old thread, but it's the only pauper discussion on here...

I recently built a pauper deck, and I'm wondering if it has potential to be effective at all...
I've literally never played a game of pauper before, so i'm not sure what other people are playing, or if this deck exists in some other fashion, but I came up with a pauper Caw-blade deck. [http://deckbox.org/sets/564951]

It is in essence a tempo deck that suits up Squadron hawk and uses it along with phantasmal bear to do consistent damage.

As for facing Gary, In standard the plan is to keep them at a very low devotion count. There's plenty of stuff in the esper colors to remove devotion, even at common rarity. Bounce spells like Unsummon would also work pretty well to knock their count down. I'd assume that Gary plays similarly in pauper as he does in standard, though I can't think of too many non-creature devotion options that pauper has access to, so the creature removal should be enough to get it done. Of course, I could also be totally wrong here, but that's just what I see with him.

Happy Christmas guys!

And for those of you who don't celebrate Christmas, Happy Wednesday.

So today, WotC spoiled the new planeswalker that will be making an appearance in BTG. Immediately I went to work thinking of a plan for her.

So far, i've come up with 2 different lists, both of which are Superfriends lists (Because we can do that now!).

http://deckbox.org/sets/564037
RUG superfriends. A ramp strategy that works with Kiora's -1, that basically tries to take control of the board while building your own board with cards like Xenagos and Bow of Nylea, using Kiora's ultimate as a finisher.

http://deckbox.org/sets/564038
BUG Superfriends. A very controlling strategy that works with Kiora's +1, that wants to eliminate all chances of the opponent being able to cast creatures / do much of anything. Again, Kiora's ultimate (or Vraskas) as a finisher.

What do you guys think of this new UG planeswalker? I'm absolutely in love with her. Sure, 2 starting loyalty is a bit rough to work with, but Explores on a stick are definitely something that I agree with. She would probably be awesome in a Bant Fog list, which I am also a big fan of. I'd love to hear your opinions on this new play toy, and if you have any brews with her yet.

Hey guys!

So right now in standard, after 2 months of trying and failing at building my own 100% pure concoctions, I have decided to build and pilot 2 blue decks that I am currently torn between. The first is found on my profile as UW Millstone, which is basically the UW infinite control deck that gets things done faster. The second is my personal attempt at Mono Blue.

After scouring the interwebz for a few hours, I saw pretty much every version of Mono Blue that there was. However, I didn't feel that any of them were quite... me. I love playing tempo builds, so I knew that I wanted to go for a mono blue list, but the big silver J on my Johnny Belt was shining reminding me that there was no way that I could take any of these lists to any sort of event. So, I decided to make my own. I'd like to get some input on it regarding my choices.

I didn't feel like posting this up on my profile until it was complete, so i'll just leave the list here:

---

Creatures:
4 judge's familiar
3 cloudfin raptor
4 frostburn weird
4 vassal soul (Because who needs nightveils....)
4 Thassa, god of the sea
2 Master of waves

Spells:
2 Blustersquall
2 inaction injunction
2 spell rupture
3 cyclonic rift
4 claustrophobia
2 Bident of Thassa

Land:
2 Nykthos, shrine to Nyx
22 Island

---
This deck is fairly typical in the way of devotion creatures, because let's face it, there's just not a huge selection. Where my list varies is in the spells. Most decks seem to be relying on creatures with maybe 6 supporting spells to get them through. I didn't think that this was a very efficient way of doing things, especially in the current meta game.

In my limited testing that has happened tonight, I have discovered that this list will easily take down any tier 2 deck, and most tier 1.5 decks that i've tested (I had some trouble with MonoRed lite). I haven't had the opportunity to test against any tier 1 decks yet, but the only ones that I expect to face in my LGS are Mono Black, MonoRed, and the mirror.

I'm wondering what you guys think of how I changed things up, and whether or not you believe that these changes were for the better, along with any suggestions you may have for me.

Thanks!

No troubles. Its really the fault of the other new guy who initially dug for it. But you're both new, so it's understandable. Dates are definitely something to keep in mind when you see a new thread on a forum.

Well, this post is 2 months old, and this deck no longer exists, so I really don't plan on it doing much work at all...

Over the last two months, i've figured out how to play a decent control deck, and am no longer tinkering with this build or archetype.

If you're interested, here's my current control list [http://deckbox.org/sets/562672] that I came up with. Otherwise, i'd ask that you guys drop this topic and not bump 2 month old threads.

I second that the UW control list should be in there. It has the potential to play in an extremely different style to the Esper control list, not to mention the fact that it can go infinite against most other control builds. I'd also include something that is super aggro oriented, such as White Weenie or Rakdos aggro. Just because they dont win a lot of tournaments doesnt mean that people at those tournaments won't be playing them.

The Site Discussion and Feedback forum would be where to suggest that feature.

And yeah, there's a lot of people that deal in foreign cards, but the only way to input the fact that they are foreign is to do it one by one while entering them. There isn't a way to filter by language, as far as i'm aware.

If you group all of your cards together, you can do a mass-input by going up to the top right corner, and where it says 'import' is a drop down menu that has an option for card list. Then you can just enter the card name and how many of that card you have.

May not be as effective for you who may have several copies of the same card from different sets, but it's an option all the same.

My LGS doesn't sell singles, just sealed product.

And i'd much rather get these included in a trade than make a special trip to another shop just for them.

Bump - still looking for these

I've been trading foil lands back and forth for about 2 years now, and the going rate has always been a dollar, regardless of the set or art (Save foil zendikar, unhinged), and all players that i've dealt with have agreed to this amount.

I've got about 28 left that i'd be willing to trade, but the going rate has been and will remain $1.00 each.

Hey guys!

I'm looking to finish up a mono blue-ish list, and I am in need of some of the bigger cards for it.

3- Thassa
4- Master of Waves
1- Cloudfin Raptor
1- Gainsay

Ive got a bunch of the standard staples for trade, so if you have any of these, just hit me up. Thanks!
