According to Deckbox rules:

3.2 Neutral Feedback does not affect a user's Percentile, and is to be used at a user's discretion. However, it is strongly suggested that users submit a neutral rating to any transaction that suffers from two or more 'bad trading practices,' including but not limited to:

Rude or aggressive behavior
Exceptionally poor communication
Tardiness in shipping without notice
Insufficient protection of goods
Misrepresentation of goods

3.3 Negative feedback may only be left with staff approval. Users desiring to leave negative feedback must file a Bad Trading Report. Users leaving negative feedback without staff approval will be sanctioned. Negative feedback will generally be approved for the following reasons:

Scamming and attempts to rip users off
Refusing / Ignoring to answer deckbox staff or moderators on trade issues and Bad Trading Report resolutions
Lying about when cards were sent or received, or about card conditions
Backing out of a confirmed trade and refusing to renegotiate a compensatory trade

In this particular case, neutral feedback should suffice as your trade partner did not violate any rules that warrants negative feedback. The purpose of considering trades confirmed after addresses have been exchanged is to help prevent traders from sending their cards prematurely.

There have been BTRs filed where traders have cancelled the trade even after addresses were confirmed. As long as no cards were sent by either party, the Deckbox Team will generally only permit positive or neutral feedback. This is because there is no loss on either side - except for time, which can be marked appropriately by leaving neutral feedback.

Are you only selling from your tradelist? I am interested in some things not on there

The only cards I'm selling that are not on the tradelist are commons.

I'm looking to clear out my tradelist. Feel free to start a trade and make an offer if you're interested in anything. Paypal preferred. Thanks!

I've moved this post to General Discussion as it's not a BTR. If you have trouble reaching an agreement, feel free to open one up.

According to Deckbox rules:

2.2. Sending cards

  • The sender is responsible for getting the cards to the destination

  • The sender will be held accountable for items lost in the mail if a form of tracking was not used. Proof of sending is not sufficient

  • Senders cannot be held responsible for loss of packages after delivery has been proven.

  • If a problem has occurred, please resend your part of the deal, return the cards you received (if applicable), or make appropriate monetary restitution (the parties involved can decide on which one of these options is best)

It is unfortunate that you used DC but it was not updated. Ultimately, delivery cannot be proven for either party. In this case, you guys must agree to either have both parties resend their cards or to cancel the trade.

It would help the Deckbox Team provide better assistance if you can provide a link to the trade and include any discussion that had occurred. The tracking number would also be useful. Thank you!

According to Deckbox rules:

2.1 After the trade is accepted and addresses exchanged, there is no backing out. The transaction is considered confirmed. If a user needs to back out because he cannot complete (for objective reasons, like missing cards) the trade, he must be willing to negotiate a compensatory trade with the other party.

2.2. Sending cards

The sender is responsible for getting the cards to the destination
The sender will be held accountable for items lost in the mail if a form of tracking was not used. Proof of sending is not sufficient
Senders cannot be held responsible for loss of packages after delivery has been proven.
If a problem has occurred, please resend your part of the deal, return the cards you received (if applicable), or make appropriate monetary restitution (the parties involved can decide on which one of these options is best)

In this case, because you were required to send first and your trade partner has not sent his cards yet, there are a few options. Because neither of you have received any cards - if you both agree to it and no negative feedbacks are requested - this trade may be cancelled (See rule 2.1). Another option is to re-send the cards you have sent, should you have multiple copies. Another option is to reimburse your trade partner with cash/paypal. The choice is up to you and your trade partner. Both parties must come to an agreement.

As of now there isn't a way to receive email notifications when receiving new messages - only for trade proposals, address confirmations, and cancellations.

I sometimes see people dismissing Deckbox saying that real life takes priority - and I understand that to some degree - but as soon as someone in this world depends on you, that makes it pretty real. Also, I understand people's frustration with a lack of communication but there is a silver lining: these traders, at the very least, cancel the trade as opposed to letting it sit there forever. Nevertheless, communication is key to a successful trade.

Hi, I have tons of bulk foils that I'm looking to get rid of. They're all on my tradelist. Feel free to take a look and start up a trade if you're interested in any. I'd be happy to look at your tradelist.

I use TCG's median price for foils.

Thank you

Personally, I really like the way Deckbox admins handles BTR and negative feedback.

By the current system, people with negative feedback deserve it without any doubt. I don't think people should be able to leave negative feedback just because a trader is "being a dick". People are often too quick to leave negatives. That would lessen the severity of a negative and muddy the difference between a poor trader and a scammer. For example, right now if I see a trader with over 30 feedback and has only 80% positive feedback, I will know to avoid him because someone trustworthy (Sebi, Catinca) have approved negatives. But if people can leave negative feedback whenever they want, then I won't be able to tell the difference between traders who actually try to scam people or if the trader was just being inconsiderate.

If they are inconsiderate traders, I would rather leave them neutral feedback with a warning to other traders. Since only time was lost, I believe a neutral would suffice. This is because no value was lost despite having a less than positive experience. I prefer negatives to mean that other traders had lost value dealing with him. This would also work a lot better if we can see how many neutral feedback (or % of neutrals) a trader has received.

Yes, I was one of the people pushing for private inventories but that's only an example of an issue that arises from people not reading profile descriptions. The goal of my suggestion is merely to encourage traders to read over other people's policies to avoid issues like the BTR I posted a link to. By no means am I suggesting a system where users can override Deckbox rules nor sacrifice the integrity of the site.

Some traders care about card conditions, some don't. Some have prefered shipping methods, some don't. Personal policies like these are not something Deckbox can enforce since it varies from user to user. Deckbox can, however, encourage traders to read others' profiles. It'll help traders avoid issues that could be easily dealt with by communicating and be able to identify problems before confirming a trade.

I think it's important for people, especially traders, to read users' profile descriptions. Deckbox is a versatile site and caters to people who use the site for different purposes - whether it's just cataloguing, trading, etc. Each user may have his/her own personal policy when it comes to trading. These policies are usually written clearly in their profile bios. For instance, I state on my profile that I only trade out of my tradelist and my inventory is off limits but I get trade offers for cards in my inventory regularly. It's not common practice for traders to read these descriptions. This can lead to issues such as this BTR: http://deckbox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=8699

I have a suggestion that may help with this issue. When starting a new trade - where you select whether you want it to be local or mail trade - there is currently the checkbox for reading and accepting Deckbox's trading rules and guidelines. I suggest adding another checkbox that says something like "I have read and accept this user's policy". It may need to be recorded somewhere, in case users change their policy afterwards.

Thanks for all your suggestions (many of them we very much like!).

We're especially now thinking of inventory privacy, I think I'm leaning more in favor to allowing password protected inventories.

Thank you for replying, Sebi.

I think options are important to users since people use Deckbox for multiple purposes. Perhaps having 3 options that users can set would be ideal: Public, Friends only, or Private.
