Just added 3 new FNM promos for July to August: Frost Walker, Path to Exile, Serum Visions.

Also a couple of minor fixes and improvements related to the market:
- order listing: split up pending (currently discussed) orders, one section for orders the user buys, the other for orders the user sells
- order listing: added seller or buyer names where missing, smaller nicer buttons
- order listing: added feedback left for seller (or received from buyer) on completed orders
- order listing: pagination for longer sections (completed / canceled)
- order page: tracking code and feedback left is displayed for completed orders to both sellers & buyers on order page
- other minor fixes on order pages

More to come soon!

Are there any plans to update the default price settings for cards with unspecified versions? For example, the site now assumes that a default lightning bolt is from MM2 rather than M11, even though the original MM set didn't originally do this. That is, MM1 set was treated like Commander/Conspiracy as a non-major printing while MM2 seems to be treated like a regular expansion. Is this an error, or intentional?

thanks!

This was an error, but now thinking about it I am not sure what it should be actually... I did receive feedback that for some FTV or duel decks, they should be considered "last printing" although they are non-major...

Thoughts?

True, thanks for reporting.

Yep, the "friends" system definitely needs some love and updates. Looking at it soon.

Fixed Primeval Titan & Cranial Plating.

@AsymptomaticPyrexia, agreed, I have postponed this too long now, need to get to it for next release. The mass pricing tool should indeed apply to currently used filters.

Yep, was reviewing those recently actually. Out of them, a few are on my list for next release: minimum order size, card sorting in orders & trades, order index page improvements, and the tracking number missing. Coming soon!

Fixed foil Retract.

Thank you bonobig, adjusted some more foil MM prices.

Can you update prices more than once per day? Doing this often, but at irregular intervals should help prevent manipulation.

Yep, I will be looking into updating the prices faster. One other issue is we cannot update them too often from external sources like Amazon, they have some throughput limits for requests, and we have 50.000 printings between foils and normals that we need information on.

With the current algorithm if I update my prices to 90% of the Deckbox price once per day will that not continuously drive prices down? My suggestions above will help vs this, but any hope for dynamic pricing in the future?

How do stores price their cards on Deckbox?

I'll answer both in one: external big stores have their own external information on stocks and pricing. We only have adventureson [1] as partner at the moment but I am looking into extending that. As they have their own pricing mechanisms and larger stocks they are stabilizing the prices, and they are not continuously driven down. We fetch that information on stocks and pricing from an API the store provides.

If regular Deckbox sellers had better tools then they would have better prices and that would feed back into the Deckbox price.

Agreed. Suggestions welcome on what would help sellers to easier price inventories.

Put a button on the card page. When someone clicks it, add the card to the price review queue. The more users that click it, the higher in the queue it goes.

Great idea! Wrote it down.

There is a new option for those users of the auto-mark-for-trade feature, and keeping track of cards in built decks.

Some of you have duplicates for cards that you use in multiple decks, and you do not trade those duplicates away. You can now specify this by unchecking an option on the Edit Profile page. Subsequently, the cards in built decks count that we show in your collection will count those duplicates.

Thank you for reporting the issues you find. Fixed the reported foil pricing.

The bottom line is that the Deckbox pricing algorithm has always been subpar and the promised transparency has never come.

I think any kind of transparency will encourage people to manipulate pricing. It's already happening and I have to keep an eye on things, even when people do not know how prices are calculated. I am strongly leaning in favor of not disclosing any information on the calculation, I am not sure that it will have any benefits, and I am pretty sure it will have many downsides.

Sorry if you find the pricing subpar, I am constantly trying to make it better, and I will be looking to get more stores involved in selling which will further stabilize pricing.

Back when we used tcgplayer there were still many, many reports and emails I got that pricing is bad on some cards, and missing on many others. It was constant work of synchronizing the price import service too. We also had no control over them and I had to constantly apologize and tell people "i am sorry we are getting them from tcgplayer".

Adjusted pricing on Wall of Wood and Noble Hierarch.

Normally that input is provided for when you need to just paste some text in there, not necessarily type them by hand. Have you tried to use the one-by-one entry for adding them? It helps with auto completion as well, and should be quicker than using the text list input.

The problem with a simple "minus" on the wishlist counting as a "plus" on the inventory is that generally users have very "unspecific" entries in their wishlist like "two Mountain cards". When they add them to their inventory, then want to add "two M10 Mountain cards, one Slightly Played English, one Near Mint Foil French".

That's why you usually need to provide a way for a detailed card input. On the desktop, you can use the in-place-editor to remove one from wishlist, and then click on the inventory count next to it, which opens a detailed card editor.

For the mobile interface, right now you can only click on the card name and then use the controls there to add a new detailed card to your inventory.

In the edition checklist view on desktop we do provide these "Plus" buttons which assign defaults when you add to your inventory, because it was sort of built with that in mind and is more verbose in explaining what happens exactly when you click the "+".

Have no prices.

Fixed now.

Hello,

A small update today, I have added a couple of preferences to the email notifications settings.

For those users that are visiting deckbox often, you  can now not receive any emails about trades if you so desire. Separately, users that are members of communities and are not interested in events notifications can also disable them completely. You can find both options on the Edit Profile page on the bottom right.

Additionally, we now have unsubscribe links directly in the email footers, for easier access to these options.

Modern Masters

Pricing information was missing for Modern Masters 2015 cards, now it should be available for all cards. I'm also aware that pricing information for some tokens is bugged, and looking into it still.

Other options

There is a new option for those users of the auto-mark-for-trade feature, and keeping track of cards in built decks.

Some of you have duplicates for cards that you use in multiple decks, and you do not trade those duplicates away. You can now specify this by unchecking an option on the Edit Profile page. Subsequently, the cards in built decks count that we show in your collection will count those duplicates.

Which entry are you referring to? The Card List box?

Why did token prices skyrocket? Bug? Suddenly I see average prices of around $30 for Theros-block tokens.

I still have some bugs it seems in the price calculation formulas, it is not ignoring some users properly, and they mess up the averages. Fixing today.

They should be fixed now though, as far as I know I went through them all.

I found two things:
- That Genesis Hydra printing has the same picture as the one from M15.

Sadly I could not find a good picture of the promo.

- Prices for cards reprinted in MM15 in decklists are unavailable as the printing chosen automatically is the latest one. This messes up price calculation for decklists. It would be very convenient to be able to change the printing from the default one. The lack of prices is obviously because it's a new set and no one should have those cards for sale before 22th but this rises an interesting question - is offering cards for preorder allowed?

Yep, you can list for preorders if you want.
