Promo & Textless

The Promo and Textless flags are now deprecated, and will be removed in a later release. They are not necessary anymore as we have imported all the promo and extras editions, so you can select the correct card edition for these now. This has the benefit of then showing correct pricing information and correct images for that specific promo.

There is now a warning displayed on your homepage if you have any cards in your inventory marked with the promo or textless flags, and a link to a filter that will help you remove the flags and set the correct edition.

If you had cards flagged as promo and they had an unambiguous single promo edition they were printed in, we have set this edition automatically, so you do not have to do anything. Inventory values might sometimes go up because of this, since promo prices are higher than older edition prices.

New Flags

We have added new flags: Misprint, Altered Art and Artist Proof. This is only a first step, a future release will also introduce image attachments and a notes field so that you can describe what particular kind of misprint or altered art the card has.

Oversized Printings

Oversized cards were introduced as separate editions, which you can see and browse here:

https://deckbox.org/editions#oversized

If there is any printing missing, please let us know in the sticky thread in the Site Feedback forum.

Other Fixes

* Fixed some card pages with special characters that were redirecting away
* Added pagination links to the bottom of the spoiler view listing, they were mistakenly removed.

The promo flag is indeed confusing, and will be deprecated in a release today, and will be removed at a later date.

This is a bug, will fix.

Which is the user that is trying to take advantage of this? We do not allow such behavior.

Could you send us the file at support@deckbox.org ? We will take a look.

This is now fixed, thank you for reporting.

We do not do any automatic changing of the contents of a trade. If it is now 2, they must have been 2 when the trade was accepted.

If there were 4 and you only had 2 in your tradelist, the trade cannot be accepted, you get an error.

Also a point worth discussing is if you can tag a card as being in 2 decks at the same time... because in my mind that would not make sense. One of the decks has it actually in it, the other one does not... although it is listed in the decklist, the actual specific card is not there, so it should not be tagged I think.

With regard to deck tagging, I've been thinking of doing it in a way that was touched upon in this thread by you & Moxy & others.

In built decks we'd have some sort of smart way for each card to pick something from your inventory that can be used for it.

for ex, you have "2 Mountain" in your deck. You click somewhere and you see a list of all the exact mountains that you own in the inventory, and you can check which 2 of them are actually in this deck.

Afterwards, the 2 you have selected will be tagged as such in your inventory. They will have a #deck_234 tag on them.

Then can then have a button in inventory tools that says "Mark all cards that do not have some kind of #deck tag as tradable".

And we can still have saved searches in this scenario too, that filter a set by the presence of some tags and absence of others.

I've thought a lot about tagging lately (and deck tags), and about the new flags that are needed (artist proof, misprint, altered, signed). We also need notes (public and private) and images (for scans).

The more I think about this, the more I feel adding everything will make things confusing in the interface. Filters for tags, saved searches, flags, notes etc.

One way I thought we could simplify everything would be:
  - have one field of public notes and one for private notes
  - only have 2 flags: foil and modifed. Where modified means any of signed, altered, misprint, etc etc.
  - otherwise all tagging and flagging can be done via hashtags in the notes field. E.g. "#misprint - miscut" or "#signed by artist at Worlds 2013"

Then users can flexibly tag and untag things without a complicated interface. I feel it would also be understandable, since everybody uses hashtags on social networks nowadays.

Private notes can also be used to tag things freely, like "#borrowed to mike. Otherwise belongs in #blue_box_basement".

What do you think?

I'm having issues with exporting my tradelist. Export inventory works fine, export tradelist only has the header row, no cards.

Fixed now.

Actually it might just be that the columns are not named the same way. I improved the error reporting a bit on our side, so after trying to import it now you should see which columns in the csv file we do not recognize.

I will take a look at the magic assistant format, perhaps it would be cool to just have a "Import Magic Assistant File" there in the menu.

Yep, we had some weird behavior when triyng to import things into non-empty sets. Shoul be fixed  now, please try again.

Could you send us the csv at support@deckbox.org? I'd like to take a look and try importing it.

Could you send us a link to the trade in question?

i am not sure if it was due to the update or on purpose but all my NM cards have a yellow star next to them now instead of the green star.

Yep, was a bug with an icon index, fixed now.

Small bug with an icon index, fixed now.

We had some issues recently with the CSV import and export for large inventories. Like any tool written many years ago, with different requirements, it was old & tired.

But with this release we put the spring back in its step, it's much faster and more flexible, ready for the upcoming flag changes, image attachments & tags.

Other fixes

- performance: found some issues that caused the site to be unresponsive on a few occasions last week. They should be fixed.
- database: removed some doubled printings from Invasion, Weatherlight and Apocalypse, fixed the card numbers for zendikar simple lands to avoid confusion.

Working on it. Sorry for the delay.

Will take a look at this, your second point makes sense definitely.

Just a note, you do not have to go to your inventory to change the counts, you can do so from the dialog you get by clicking on the red card count on the card listing in the trade.

The formula has been changed and tweaked, and will continue to be changed and tweaked for a while.  I am not comfortable discussing or publicizing it until I am sure it cannot be abused.

I think you're right, I just thought it was odd, and that maybe it was showing things I had recently looked at or loaded as a page, but not things that were actually relevant or something I'd want to buy.  I reloaded several times this morning and all of the cards it had suggested were things I had in that trade.  Sebi if you're trying to stalk me and suggest things you're doing it wrong.  big_smile

Correct, it shows things sometimes that you looked at. Perhaps if you already have a wishlist it should not do that smile

Trades cannot be accepted anymore unless all cards in them are available in the inventory and tradelist.

Hence, when the first trade for your lightning bolt is accepted, the Lightning Bolt is removed. The second trade cannot be accepted anymore unless you add a new ligthing bolt to your inventory.

Not sure if this is related to other issues, but I just received a trade that was started before the update and it added two copies of each card to my inventory instead of one.

Fixed now, thank you for reporting.
