I'd trade a Revised Demonic Tutor for it

I'm not going to pretend I know how hard this would be to add to the site, but would it be possible to put some sort of an indication of when a person last logged into the site?  It could save us from proposing trades to people who are no longer using deckbox on a regular basis.

Thanks!

"Playset" refers to a set of four of the card that will then be used for actual play in the game.  People go out and get copies of cards that they're never actually going to use to maintain their value (as they stay in near mint condition) and then use the playsets for their decks as those can get all bent and chewed up from gameplay.

Unless I'm way off, at which point I would welcome someone to correct me.

Hey,

I know that you guys maintain this site without pay (thanks by the way!), but I was curious if there is any sort of an ETA about when the Trading Opportunities feature will be updated.  I've seen several hits throughout the forum regarding possible options, but I was just curious if you could widen it to beyond the groups you're currently in.  I'm in Reddit, so I know that it's hitting a lot of users out there, but I know a lot of potential traders are being left out.

Thanks again!

I'll second Borgin's point.  The new "calculator" (that's not what it's called but I'm not remembering its actual name off the top of my head) tool TGC has is REALLY useful.  When it comes down to acquiring those last 10-12 cards for a deck or two, I've found TGC to be quite good.  Some vendors offer $0.99 shipping and almost all of them you can find near mints or slightly played cards well below the TGC average.  So then you save some serious time by not having to work out 10 more trades while minimizing shipping.

I won't claim to have been playing with them for long, but I've found Venser's Journal to be a marginal card unless you're playing something that either has some serious mana-ramping or is really focused on drawing cards.  Most games by the time you get to the 5 you need to play the journal, a lot of the outcome is going to be decided.  In a FFA format that might be different as people are more cautious, but it's really a tradeoff.  To whatever end, I can imagine that space will be better utilized on something else unless you're really going to change the direction of the deck as you likely won't want to be holding a lot in your hand in a FFA.

For the planeswalker thing, I can still see where having him in there might be useful, even if you hold him in your hand until the field has thinned a bit.  You're definitely going to draw some attention if the Pridemates and Entities are getting big enough.  So you might want to look into some more defenses, to whatever end (whether it be token generating creatures or even just some circle of protections (or later set comparable cards).  Another thought would be x2 Katabatic Winds, that certainly helps with flying defense if you play them on staggered turns.

The only reason I suggest the Mantras is because that would be a consistent, guaranteed life gaining enterprise.  That would ensure that the Pridemates and Entities get bigger every turn while helping you get that little bit more life.

I've been fond of Ajani's Mantra as a simple way to guarantee you're going to gain at least 1-2 life per turn.  Outside of that, the Ajani Goldmane could help you continue to gain life and gives you that potential killing blow with the GIANT avatar tokens you could produce.

I would also drop the Hollowhenge Scavenger in exchange for Lifelink or something that is more of a sure thing to gain life.

But, if you wanted to take things a different way, I know it's expensive, but Venser's Journal when mixed with a deck more directed toward drawing a ton of cards will definitely increase that life total a lot faster.  Then again, that's just my 2 cents worth.

Hey guys,

I've been waiting for a bunch of commons that I ordered off another member that lives in Toronto for almost 3 weeks now. I  wanted to try and get a sense from the many of you out there who I'm sure have traded with our neighbors to the north: how long should the shipping really take?  He sent them "standard shipping" and didn't put delivery confirmation on it (claiming it would cost way too much).  At what point should I chalk this up to postal mishaps and try to locate the cards elsewhere?

Alrighty.  The Taiga is now claimed.  Thanks everyone for your interest.

However it gets marked is fine.  I just know that it would be easier if you don't end up getting 30 offers with the same card(s).  Or even if it changes the wishlist once both parties have clicked "Accept this proposal."  But the ability to mark something like that would be nice if you're trying to work multiple trades.

That would be awesome.  Thanks!

First off, I love the site.  The fact that we even have half the tools available is amazing and I think it really helps the community by fostering trades and the like.

BUT, I was curious if, as an added feature there was a way to mark items on your wishlist as being part of a pending trade or otherwise as part of a trade that's being worked out.  The reason I say this is because you end up receiving 100 trade offers that are redundant or contain mostly cards you're getting in another trade.

I see that it changes the wishlist and your inventory when the trade is completed, but, as I'm sure I'm not the only one in this boat, you end up working out 95% of a trade with someone and are just waiting for one or two cards to arrive to be able to pull the trigger, only to find your ability to make additional trades impaired by the fact that your wishlist is out of date.

I've tackled this by making a wishlist deck for items that are not already in the mail or spoken for in a trade, but then I end up having to redirect everyone to the deck, the trading opportunities option doesn't work, and it just makes for everything to be confusing.

I know I can manually remove those items from my wishlist, but it would rock if you could click a box at the bottom of a trade and have it take things out of the wishlist immediately.

It's in great shape.  I only used it maybe 5-10 times after I pulled it in a booster back in 95-96.

Look at my "Updated Wishlist" deck at http://deckbox.org/sets/143044 for what I'm still looking to pick up.

I wanted to keep everyone updated who has expressed an interest in the few cards I've listed/discussed on the forums.  The Volcanic Island, Savannah, and both FOWs are gone.

I've updated my wishlist (You can find it under my "updated wishlist" deck) now that I've completed 2 additional trades... sadly the only remaining major card on my end is the Taiga.

I understand if many of you are not interested, but if you are, you can look and see the updated list.

Thanks for the link Tawnos... I found the ones I'm looking for.  The only one that the foil-ness really adds much to the value is a Grave Titan.

That's what I was thinking... I'm willing to give the guy a bit more, maybe even up to 1.5x as he's done a significant amount of legwork tracking down the cards I'm looking for (he REALLY wants the FOWs I'm trading), but I'm glad to see that I'm not off kilter by saying double is far too much.

Hey all,

Just a quick question.  I'm in the midst of doing a pretty sizable trade, but the other trader is saying that the value for some cards should be considered roughly double their TGC average because they're foil.  Personally, I'm not worried about foil cards, if you have them, cool, if not, so what?  But does this sound reasonable for the value on them?

I solved the Howling Mine problem... and it's a good one...

-1 Howling Mine
+1 Well of Knowledge

Now they have to pay 2 to draw a card, and once their lands are gone... well... that's a dick move right there.  Unless I'm misunderstanding how it runs... at which point they still draw one, but you can pay however much you want to keep drawing while they're up the creek only drawing one card per turn.

I like some of those changes.

In retrospect there's no need for the Hammer of Bogardans if there's another Charmbreaker Devils to bring back the lightning bolts.  Also the Brimstone Mages would take forever to level up to be effective, so that's a good move too.  The Demolishes have been pulled in favor of Pillage, as it does the same thing only for one mana cheaper (so that's a plus).  Feldon's is out, as another card is definitely better in its place.

I still think the Cerebral Eruptions are good though, as they can clear out a lot of creatures in a single move, or at least damage them to where TIM shots could finish them off.  The Howling Mine is just to help in case I end up getting decked (after all, everyone else draws cards like crazy, so I have to keep up somehow).  I'm still a fan of the Price of Glory (make people think twice before countering anything) and Burning Sands (then when the creatures die, they pay even more for it).

I'm thinking I'll pull it together and see how it works.  Worst case scenario, from the look of things, I'll be out a few bucks and can try to figure out a better way to focus in on the Orcish Squatters - Goblin Tunneler combo.

Thanks!

My other thought is that it's pretty cheap, roughly $25 for me to finish off...

The most likely scenario is just some friendly games.  Nobody is running anything crazy like a tournament infect deck, and, to be honest, it's uncommon for us to see a game end in fewer than say 12-15 turns.  But there isn't any one particular deck I'm looking to combat.  Hence the wealth of TIM-style damage and the meekstone... then I can likely shoot down anything that would untap while keeping anything bigger tapped while I work toward destroying/stealing their land.
