Also worth noting, we do want to add more things in the news stream, but there will also be a preferences select where you can say which things you want to see there and which you do not. (e.g. if you are not interested in what decks your friend made or changed recently, or not interested in competitive magic news or whatnot).

So I know this isn't the correct thread but I can't for the life of me figure out how to post a new thread or question. I can't seem to enter most of my tokens?  I have them in alphabetical order and went to enter Angel and no option. I've tried searching a few different ways. Help?

Hello. You cannot create new threads in this particular subforum because it's for site announcements only. You can in Site Feedback though smile

We do not yet have the tokens and emblems in the database but we do wish to add them soon.

Clicking on "My Profile" seems to just bring me to my homepage with the stream on it.

This is correct. I made a mess of it by using a lot of terms for the same thing: 'your profile', 'your homepage' or 'the dashboard' all refer to the same thing actually, which now contains the activity streams.

In general, I liked being able to see all 3 streams (News, Trades, Sales) at once. I prefer the old way. (But I like how it's more clearly broken up by date now.)

I thought that there might be users who wanted it in the same place, and I think a possible solution would be to have entries in the current "News Stream" with an "abstract" of trading oppportunities:

For ex for today you'd see:

New interesting cards to trade: Mountain, Lightning Bolt, Black Lotus. <link>Click here</link> to see more.

And the link from "Click here" would take you to the other stream which actually shows more info - who added them, at what time, what kind of details those cards have... (printing, condition etc).

How does this sound?

Fixed now.

Handling of separate card printings per edition

An often requested feature was the ability to not only specify a card's edition, but the exact printing it has in an edition. Some cases, like Zendikar lands, and rarer cards were especially problematic because of this.

We have fixed this now, and edition selectors everywhere list all printings of cards. There is also a little 'picture' icon with a mouseover effect in there, so you can easier identify the exact printing you wish to set, even if you do not know the card number.

This is on the surface a not a very big change, but it actually was a big pre-requisite for other features (tags & multiple inventories & edition checklists etc etc), and also a bit tricky to change. Now that it is out of the way, we're ready to tackle the next cool stuff!

User Dashboard Cleanups

As promised, we have started to fix some issues with the activity streams displayed on dashboard, and clean it up a bit in the process.

The main news stream is now the only one shown by default, and you can switch to the Interesting cards for trade and Interesting cards from sellers via the dropdown on the top right of the stream.

We are by all means NOT finished with this, making the dashboard contain informative information is one of our bigger goals.

In this regard, we'd like to ask you what would you like to see on your News Stream?

Rule and Policy Changes

Wizards of the Coast seem to be cracking down on sellers of proxies, it is against their rules. So we, as a marketplace, have to abide as well.

We have added a rule (nr 5.) on our Card Sale Rules (http://deckbox.org/help/sale_rules) that specifies that proxy sales are forbidden.

Other Fixes & Enhancements

  - Improved the sellers list on a card's page, it is now paginated and filterable (http://deckbox.org/mtg/Mountain?printin … ab=sellers)
  - Fixed an annoying bug where you were unable to add some cards to a trade when you had more than 10 printings of a certain card (https://deckbox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=15762)
  - Added placeholder icons for collectors edition and other missing ones
  - Fixed issue with deck import cards input - it was not stripping whitespace in some cases.
  - Fixed trade indicator icon only showing up for a single card in a trade (in wishlists & inventories)
  - Fixed issue with detailed cards panel & splitting counts (https://deckbox.org/forum/viewtopic.php … 413#p94413)
  - Fixed some price calculations in the trading opportunities results and user intersection pages, that were slightly misleading in some cases. (https://deckbox.org/forum/post.php?tid=21854)

Competitive Magic

The Pro Tour for Magic 2015 has finished last weekend, and we posted about it on the competitive forum & community (https://deckbox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=20507). Congratulations to Ivan Floch for winning, with his UW Control.

To be more precise, on trading opportunities it shows the value of cards you can give based on what you have, but on the user's profile it shows the value based on their wishlist. In both places, it shows the value of cards you can receive based on your wishlist.

This is now fixed, thanks for reporting.

Also, as a major cause of these price discrepancies, foils should probably not match non-foils when strict matching is on. Perhaps there could be a "foil or non-foil" status for cards on wishlists?

Actually they do not match. Or do you mean when I do not specify that i want a foil, i should not see foils as matched? I'm not sure that always makes sense... sometimes I might just want a Lightning Bolt, I don't care if it's foil or not. Or is that not the case?

In any case, the issue is just that you see some foil options there in the listing, that you might not care about, right?

Trying to work around this for the millionth time I totally corrupted my inventory by importing my inventory and then separately importing my tradelist (which for some reason adds the cards into inventory). Very frustrating.

Which import widget did you use for htis in the tradelist? We have a warning there for the tradelist-inventory interaction, and the CSV import should be completely disabled there.

I can try to restore your inventory to the state it was in yesterday if you wish. For the future, for mass importing things please only use the CSV import. If you wish to modify it offline, you can do so in a spreadsheet application, like excel.

Yep, looks like Unhinged was mislabeled as not having foil pringings (same as Coldsnap). Will check.

OK.  So basically, what you are suggesting is that DeckBox prices are vendor driven.  Its ironic, considering that trading is a consumer level activity, but I can work with that.

True, and ideally we'd calculate pricing based on prices of sold cards only, but for now there is not enough activity on the market for that, and for some rare / promo cards it will never be the case that are enough transactions to make that work sadly.

As for which cards you might want to look at, the variance gets less pronounced as the value of the card increases.  It would be infinitely less time consuming to point at anything at or under $1 as being problematic.

Yep, prices under 1$, especially bulk rares are a bit wonky. It's also a bit hard to define what is their value, since variations in both seller pricing, and as a result, also of their buying price are very big. But we'll be looking closer at this very soon.

I see you are selling cards outside of the market system and what is more interesting is that you added a card to your trade partner's trade window just to get rid of the warning that we posted that says this is not allowed.

I'm not sure who you are trying to lie to here? Us? The buyers?  Your trade partner?

Please cancel the trade immediately and refund the money to the buyer, and stop doing this kind of rules dodging, or your account will be permanently suspended.

We do not use, or have any affiliation with TCGPlayer card values. We calculate a market price based on prices of sellers on our website and from Amazon.

Which cards are most problematic from the list you mention? I can take a look if there are some pricing errors.

Ivan Floch has won Pro Tour M15 Portland, congratulations!

The winning UW Control decklist is here: http://deckbox.org/sets/749381 . Among the top 8's there were  a couple of Jund Walker decks, BW Midrange, GW Aggro and a RW Burn. Check out the event page for the top 8 decklists.

Fixed Adarkar Wastes.

Looking at Coldsnap, it is indeed treated like a set that does not have foil printings, but it certainly does smile.

Easiest to do would be to start over, we sadly do not support un-cancellation at this moment.

WordOfCommander, are you just completely ignoring what AsymptomaticPhyrexia said?

Please do not ignore our rules if you want to continue using the website.

Thanks for the link. When I go to add another Rabblemaster and want to edit the edition, nothing is there except M15.

There was a caching issue, fixed now.

Also, I'm having trouble entering Zendikar lands. There's two different kinds: the basics and the full arts. But I don't see the option to choose between them. At least not with Mountain. I haven't checked the others.

You cannot select the specific printing yet. Working on that.

Very good points, and a couple of questions to which I also want to find a satisfying answer.

1. You are in fact allowed to refund the buyer and cancel the order in this case. Buyers have to read the seller policies, we even have a message on the order page for this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/977cu8f5hbvgw … .04.16.png

An enforceable, setable minimum order size for shipping options is also something we have considered. There is a thin line here between customers being happy with the system, or just sellers being happy with the system. If both are not happy to some degree, the markeplace does not work. Minimum order amounts increase seller happiness but decrease buyer happiness, so I did not yet make a decision on how to make the system work regarding it.

2. Market spikiness is indeed a problem, and a hard one to solve at that.

In serious loss cases, sellers can just cancel the order and eat the negative feedback, we will not suspend sellers for refusing to accept an order, so there is always that option at a sellers disposal. Negative feedback is not the be-all end-all of a successful seller, as it is not on EBay, or other marketplaces. If someone consistently does it, then of course, it will be obvious that is a seller people will not want to do business with.

I'm open to suggestions for system features that help with price spikiness issues, and I will also think a bit more on this, but I think it is not trivial, and there will be a lot of compromises.

As always, I'm happy to read feedback and discussion on these topics, it helps us make better decisions.
