Ghidorah, King of the Cosmos cannot be found, but the card is listed as a variant of Illuna, Apex of Wishes. While this is fine, the pricing used for this card is the alternate art price for Illuna. So it shows up as $3.90 on DB. On Goldfish the card is showing up as being $71.44 at the moment.

That would be great!
This may be one of those 80/20 situations where addressing this for single set filtering is 80% of the value for 20% of the work...

Re: Displayed edition in search results (7 replies, posted in Site Discussion)
Sebi,
No one has said that the filter is not working in terms of showing the correct cards for the filter, the concern is with the specific version of the card being shown in the list. HickingStick used the a duel deck as an example but I will use FTV:Annihilation as it really shows the concern well. If I filter on Annihilation I see Rolling Earthquake at $90 and Burning of Xinye at over $75 since the Three Kingdoms price is shown. The FTV prices are about $6 for both. To find this out I have to go into every card separately and select the FTV version. Since I filtered on FTV you can be pretty sure this is the price I am looking for (if it is prices I am looking for).
As I said this behavior has annoyed me many, many times and it would appear to be a very easy thing to change. Is there a reason not to show the edition that matches the filter, or at least one of the ones that matches if there are multiple matches?

Re: Displayed edition in search results (7 replies, posted in Site Discussion)
I know this is an old thread but I am very frustrated by the same behavior that HickingStick mentions and no, the link that Sebi provided does not give what I (and presumably HickingStick) are looking for. When I click on the link I see a hodge podge of different editions.
I realize this functionality is complicated slightly by it being possible to select many different sets to filter on, but isn't it simply a case of applying the current algorithm (most recent set or whatever) to those cards that match the filter.
At this point I have to think that this is the thing that frustrates me the most about this site...which is really more of a compliment than a complaint since it is something so minor is my greatest concern.

Re: Why I have stopped selling (8 replies, posted in Site Discussion)
I like the idea of setting a higher shipping rate. Is it possible to apply a discount to a purchase after the order has been put in but before it has been paid for? If there is then I could charge a high shipping rate but indicate in my profile what my real rates are. I could then apply a discount after I have verified that all is in order (I have the cards and have checked the conditions).
So as long as I can apply a discount after I receive an order, I think I am happy again...

Re: Why I have stopped selling (8 replies, posted in Site Discussion)
I think the one that should definitely be implemented is the minimum order. It was a $4 order after which I took down my prices. I guess PayPal has some sort of minimum as they were charging me $0.55 (almost 14%) on this order when I think their norm is about 3%. When you add the 6.9% for DB and 3.5% currency exchange I was looking at about 25% in fees. Then I was going to have to find the cards, package them up and ship them to get $3. Crazy.

Topic: Why I have stopped selling (8 replies, posted in Site Discussion)
I recently started selling on DB. After a few weeks of trying it I have decided to stop. I thought I would give my reasons here and as least some of them could be addressed by changes to the website.
My reasons for stopping were:
I want to have a minimum purchase amount. I list one in my profile but there is no way to enforce it. When I recently received a purchase for only a few dollars I cancelled it on DB, then had to go to PayPal to refund the purchase. PayPal charged me to refund. Quite the pain.
I asked that people not pay until after I had a chance to confirm that I could find the cards and confirm the conditions. Only one buyer did this, the rest just paid. Having been on DB for many years and with many thousands of cards for sale, there are going to be mistakes. Fortunately I did not have problems with the sales I made but I would need to be able to check before receiving payment to feel comfortable.
Finally, most of the sales I made were of cards that had just soared in value due to inclusion in some Modern deck so I was selling it for a fraction of what it was worth. Not sure how DB could help with this.
I'll still sell if someone requests it but I have removed all of my prices.

Topic: Feature Request: Option for "Price all" not to reprice certain items (0 replies, posted in Site Discussion)
I tried using the "Price all" option on my tradelist a couple of days ago. This is a great option, though its all or nothingness is a bit harsh. Specifically my concern is with items with very few sellers, or in the cases I noticed, I have the only item for sale. When I am the only one selling a card (typically a rare foil or DCI card of some type) DB quickly adjusts its average price for the card to whatever I am asking for it. With card prices often changing a lot, it makes sense to periodically go in and re-run the price all option. Since I am adjusting to an amount less that the average (say 10%), for the cards where I am the only seller, I end up lowering my price by 10% on these cards each time I run the tool, unless I go in and manually raise the price again.
I think the easiest way to avoid this issue is to give sellers a check box "somewhere" to exclude certain cards from the Price all. I would think a new column in the Tradelist table would make the most sense at the moment. However, Sebi has mentioned that changes are coming so maybe there will be a better way to address this concern.

Topic: Feature Request: Cards for Sale Only+ (2 replies, posted in Site Discussion)
I have just started selling cards on DB. While I love Deckbox overall, the selling area could be improved.
A key change for me would be the ability to designate that a card is for sale only (i.e. not for trade). There are a number of cards I am looking to sell. I really don't want to waste people's time offering me trades for them. I could list them in my profile but this is a bit hokey.
The other main change I would like to see is the ability to change my selling price on the specific page for a card. I can usually see my price in the list of prices at the bottom of the page but I cannot change it. To do so I have to go to my Tradelist and search for the card. Definitely not very user friendly.

Topic: Feature Request: Disable Selling (1 replies, posted in Site Discussion)
From what I can see there is no way to stop selling on DB other than removing all of your prices...which could take a while. To work around this I see one seller, AsymptomaticPyrexia, set his shipping charges to $1,000. While I suspect this has been successful in achieving his goal, it leaves all of his cards in the database listed at whatever he was trying to sell them at. Presumably this is distorting the card prices calculated by DB. Certainly many of his cards are showing up as the "Min" price.
I suggest simply adding a check box to the Seller Profile that, when checked, removes the seller's cards from the DB Marketplace. Of course unchecking it would return them.

Re: Release 2.0: Collection interface changes, MANY trading rules changes (100 replies, posted in Announcements)
I love it! My only significant concerns are with the trading opportunities are and this is being worked on for the next update so I am very happy.
One thing that I think went backwards in the trading area is the removal of the cancelled trades. If someone had few or no completed trades I would check to see if they had a lot of cancelled trades and avoid them if they did. I started doing this after proposing a trade with the user Vyr1s. He comes up at near the top of my trade opportunities and his profile indicates he is willing to trade worldwide. I put together a trade proposal and one point and never heard back. I then looked at his cancelled trades and he had dozens of them. I suspect he has over 100 now but cannot check this anymore. As usual he has a bunch of proposals in front of him, one initiated in May. The amount of time people must have spent proposing all of these trades is likely huge. I am guessing he gets a good chuckle out of it.
Perhaps instead of listing cancelled trades, you could just list the number of cancelled trades. If people saw that someone has 0 completed trades and over 100 cancelled ones I doubt anyone would waste time proposing new ones.

Re: Previewing the next "2.0" release of deckbox (67 replies, posted in Announcements)
Lots of great improvements, with the improved set and price handling being by far my favorite that I have come across so far.
The Trading Opportunities is a nice feature in Deckbox. If there was a way to filter this this it would be fantastic. Specifically being able to filter on the other person's location, feedback and "Will trade with" setting.
I have run into a few glitches using the Alpha:
1) Trying to sort my Tradelist or Wishlist by Price or Edition results in an error (or blank page in the case of Firefox).
2) In IE9 I get a Webpage Error going to any page. (Unable to get value of the property 'hide': object is null or undefined).
3) The setting of sets for cards is not working very well with lots of little issues including:
- if you have a long list of cards and are down the list and edit the cards and then click on the "split" icon, the page jumps to the top. You then have to scroll down to get to the popup.
- Often trying to set the edition doesn't work. Sometimes when you click on the edition you want the list of editions remains but the popup behind it goes away. At this point you have to try again. I played with Abyssal Specter with this a lot (lots of editions). Choosing an edition from near the bottom of the list worked well. From elsewhere it the list it usually didn't work but would work occasionally. See next problem as well.
- Sometime you click on an edition and the list does not go away. You simply cannot choose an edition.
4) In IE9 the Close button on the card edit popup is black on black. It is black on white in FF and Chrome.
5) There are lots of cards in my inventory with a price of $0. Most of them are cards from M13.
6) I got an error trying to view canceled trades.
One thing I do a lot on Deckbox is fiddle with card lists that I get from elsewhere. I currently do this by creating a new deck and adding the cards as a list of cards. These are not added to my inventory, which is what I want. The ability to add a list to a deck seems to have been removed in this release. Why? How can I add lists like this in the new release? The only thing I have thought of so far is creating a new Deckbox account just for this purpose...something I don't want to do.
Overall I'm really looking forward to this release!!

Topic: Possible trading improvements (2 replies, posted in Site Discussion)
I just love this site. It has been great for allowing me to organize my cards and much more.
Over the last 9 months I have been using it to arrange trades. While it always a good tool for helping to enable trades, it could be improved with a few minor changes. It could be made fantastic with some major changes.
My greatest frustration is trying to find people to trade with. My approach at the moment is to find a card I am looking (or possibly looking to trade away) and then to look for people with the card in their tradelist or wishlist. I then try to find people with enough overlap in tradelist/wishlist to warrant a trade. However, there are a lot of people using deckbox who have no interest in trading or only want to trade within their country or locally. Despite this they all show up in the list of people with a certain card in their tradelist or wishlist (i.e. some people uses these lists even though are not "traders").
Some minor suggestions that would help:
1) Allow a profile option to indicate no interest in trading.
2) Do not show (or give option not to show) users whose range of trades does not include your area in the "using have <card> in" list.
3) Show the number of completed mail trades for users in the "using have <card> list. Just this would reduce the need for the first two items as I could not look at users that have never traded by mail.
4) Allow users to specify countries they are willing to trade with. I live in Canada where postal rates to the US are not much more than domestic. However, my only choices now are within Canada or worldwide. Of course this is of limited use #2 above.
Other changes that would help with trading:
1) Fix the prices. I know this is coming (really soon, right?). I am hoping that when the new version comes that the price listed a card with no edition will the lowest price for the card not the weighted average over all versions that is there today. The lowest price has a good chance of being right. The weighted average is never right.
2) Suggest possible trades. That is, provide me with a list of users, who I have indicated I am willing to trade with and vice versa based on location, for which there is significant overlap between our wishlists and tradelists. I suspect this is could be a big work item and expensive in terms of processing. Perhaps it could be done by request only, executed as a background task, that the user could check back on later or with the results sent out by email.

I do this all the time. I just import into a new deck. The cards don't get added to my inventory automatically.

Re: card location (4 replies, posted in Site Discussion)
On a similar note I would really like to be able to be able to see where the cards in my inventory are in terms of decks. I have lots of decks and I often forget where certain cards are. I would think the best place for this would be in the "In your sets" section of the card details page.
