Not to mention that the deck lists (all reprints) have been available for almost 3 weeks now.

Order // Chaos is missing, despite being part of the Open Hostility deck.

edit: Trial // Error is also missing.  Looks like the software you're using to scrape Gatherer doesn't properly handle split cards.

On this page: https://deckbox.org/decks/mtg

There are so many decks listed as Vintage or Legacy, but which are actually incomplete EDH decks (usually lacking land) that it would be tremendously useful to see the number of cards in a deck, before we go to browse it.

Good work on the recent updates.  I was curious if there is an ETA on getting Conspiracy cards in the DB?  Gatherer is up-to-date, but WotC hasn't promoted the update, and in fact, the front page pulldown for sets doesn't even include it.  But you can find the full Conspiracy card listing here:

Artifact Lands and Creature lands are now listed in the Lands section.

Confirmed.  Thanks a ton, Sebi.

Hmm... so Artifact Creatures & Enchantment Creatures are Creatures, Land Creatures are Lands and Land Artifacts are also Lands?

Yep, Land is your most critical resource.  Without it, you can do nothing else (excluding some gimmick decks), so when looking at a deck, it's critical to see all of your land together.  In the following example, I would have to look in 3 different places to evaluate my Lands.

Creatures come second, they're they foundation of the most  common activity, combat.  As Kammikaze said, it's a tossup for whether Enchantment or Artifact should take 3rd place, but I favor Artifact as they're more likely to be something that's actively manipulated, whereas enchantments are more likely to be passive once in play.

This smells of "then we're going to need a bigger server" to me.

Yes it does but it was said more tongue in cheek than as a real suggestion. Maybe there could be a way to tie it into our dropbox accounts? Although if there were ever some sort of desktop or paid version of deckbox it would be an excellent added feature.  Either way this would be for another thread.

We will definitely have attachments as well. We already have 2 servers and they're pretty big tongue

"A picture is worth a thousand words."

It's not quite that extreme when it comes to data... but 2 orders of magnitude memory difference between the text description of a card and the corresponding image, is not unreasonable.

Fixed, enchantment creatures are now considered creatures.

Sweet!  Thanks, Sebi.

Edit: I'll note that land creatures are now also showing up as Creatures rather than land.  That wouldn't be my preference, but I can see the argument for making Creature be the primary sort category in all cases.

Also note that Artifact Lands are Artifacts, rather than lands.  I don't any, myself, but if I did, would consider that a problem.

I agree that this needs fixed.  Priority should be Land, Creature, Enchantment, Artifact.

its probably because their first word is enchantment not creature.

Nope, that's not it.  Artifact is also the first word for Artifact Creatures.

It is currently impossible to exclude the "variant" option when searching decks.  This means that I cannot exclude EDH decks.  Any chance this could be fixed?  smile

Additionally, it would be nice to exclude decks that do not contain land.  There seems to be a lot of people who build EDH decks, but don't include land, so they register as Legacy or Vintage.

Thanks.

When viewing card details, you used to have a link to gatherer for reviewing card-specific rules, which seems to have disappeared.  That's critical since you continue to not update Oracle text, which I note is also missing.

sad

An unannounced feature is that you've added a 2nd price to columns in certain views, which has negatively impacted the layout of those views.

For example, when viewing a deck with the default columns, the casting cost column gets smashed to the point that it's word wrapping, making it completely unreadable.  This means people are going to turn off that column completely, diminishing your sales.

Additionally, when a card isn't for sale anywhere on Deckbox, the details column of inventory views no longer align properly.

Could you give me a link to this deck? My decks look like this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yix1nwbeysxxf … .41.42.png

The details column never aligned properly actually since prices have varying length (in digits).

There is a thread in the site feedback forum with someone also being upset about the minimum prices, as you seem to be. We will add an option in settings where you can turn off the display of the minimum price should you find it not helpful.

Here's a deck:

Here's inventory:

You don't seem to be viewing the power and toughness of your creatures, which is pretty fundamental to deck building.

And it's not that I hate it...but the cost column should never wrap, and maybe pricing should be in its own column for inventory / DB views.

When Coldsnap was released back in 2006, Wizards created some Coldsnap Theme Decks that you could get at GenCon.  These decks had cards from Ice Age and Alliances in the modern borders.  For example:

Orcish Lumberjack Theme Deck as opposed to Orcish Lumberjack Ice Age

I don't believe they were official products that you could purchase, so they aren't listed in Gatherer, but it would be nice for Deckbox to recognize the "set".  Star City Games has a definitive list of these cards, here:

It shouldn't be a shock that your business model to facilitate 3rd-party transactions is in conflict with your sources card pricing.  I'd recommend scraping eBay regularly and creating your own historical DB of card values.

EDIT: typo

Just realized, this seems to only be working for my own inventory...I can't use the feature to look at someone else's list to see what they have extras of.

Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!

I was wondering if there was a chance if you could add an option to make the trade/wish list posting easier. I am interested in getting enough cards for a play set (4 each). my wish list would only be any card that I dont have 4 of and my trade list would be any that I have more then for of. Could you add a setting option for playset collecting? This way Deckbox would automatically add any card to my wish list that I have less then 4 of and automatically list any card for trade that I have more then 4 of? This would make things so much easier and enhance Deckbox. Thanks!!!

I like this, too, as long as you can provide exceptions.  Some cards/sets I don't want, and some cards I won't ever trade, even if I have more than 4 (because they're used in multiple decks).

How likely are we to see Deckbox updated with more recent Oracle text for cards?  Numerous reprints from recent editions and expansions are not found when searching for text that we see on the cards.  Searching for "enters the battlefield" is the most obvious offender when it fails to find Elvish Visionary, Ravenous Rats, Oblivion Ring, and the various shock-lands.

Newer players won't know that they can find these cards by searching "comes into play".

It would be nice to be able to filter rules text for mana symbols.  For example, the following shows all the cards on Gatherer that include a black mana symbol in their text:

http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?text=+[{b}]

Sorry, BBCode and gatherer URLs don't place nice together.

Thanks for the reply; it's been awhile since I've been back to the forums and I can't recall exactly what I was having difficulty with when I posted, but back buttons and saving bookmarks definitely works.  Keep up the good work!

It would be really nice to be able to compare my collection with a friends', and visually see them side-by-side.  Or to see the diff, especially when searching.

On a related topic, what happened to sorting by inventory count?  That was actually useful, for similar reasons.

It's very tedious to have to recreate a detailed search, which is aggravated by the fact that the site does not play well with the browser back button.  Being able to store complex searches for later use would save people lots of time.
