Saturday bump

Tonight I picked up the  Mind Seize and Evasive Maneuvers commander decks.  I also picked up the  Nature of the Beast one a couple of weeks ago and have several cards from that on my list.

I'm particularly interested in trading it for some combination of the following from my wishlist for the Nemesis:

Damnation
Cryptic Command
Kiki-Jiki (FTV Only)
Vendillion Clique (and value on my end)

Kiki-Jiki is highest priority.  I'd also take $37 Pay Pal.  That includes shipping in a bubble mailer.

I also have a bunch of items from the Commander decks on my Tradelist as I've pretty much gutted the three of them I've picked up for parts for my Cube and the rest goes to my binder.  Same goes for above, if you want to make me a list I'm up for selling some of the items as well for a reasonable offer.  I accept PayPal.  I've done a lot of selling on eBay and occasionally on here as well.

I also have all the Oversized cards from those Commander decks.  I'd trade those for 75 cents a piece, SCG sells them for 99 cents each for reference.

What sets?  I have a bunch of stuff from various sets but mostly the Lorwyn, Zendikar, Scars, Innistrad and the first two sets of RTR.

Although to you who have traded with me before and those I might trade with in the future, you might find your top loaders covered in tape to make sure if it gets jostled around nothing could possibly happen again tongue

Help augment that by putting the sleeve in upside down as well.  It will prevent the card from jostling and getting stuck to the tape.

Thanks for the thought bondidude, I'll pose that to him because he seemed to want to keep it other than being worried about tourney play.

There should be no problem with tournament play as long as the card can be identified as being a Jitte.  :-)

Here's a blog on altered cards, this would apply similarly to a damaged card as well:

My opinion:
Until in the hands of the recipient, the cards are yours and your responsibility. If a person is trading for a card in X condition and they arrive as Y, obviously it is not their fault and they wouldn't have traded for that value if at all having known these facts. Your option 2 (he just gets stuck with the Jitte) is not an option at all. You need to work out an agreement with the person you've traded. Maybe he's ok with a damaged Jitte, but only values it at $10 so you need to send additional trade to make up for it. Maybe he just wants to reverse the trade. Whatever the person decides, it should be completely their decision (to an agreeable extent).

Just reverse the situation and put yourself in the other persons shoes.

He wants it for tournament play, does a small tear on the top border make it illegal?

Depends on the judge call (they get final call on damaged/altered cards), but if he's playing sleeve it shouldn't matter as that's the only comment that could be made about it being potentially marked.  99.9% of judges or players would think nothing of it.

Though if that's all it is then if it were me (in either position) I would recommend either making up the value in cash (a few dollars maybe for an expensive card like that) or some amount of card value.  Whatever the difference between NM and SP or worse depending on the condition would be.

Sweets, foil commons and uncommons! alright time to waste an hour browsing the list for stuff I want

Sweet!  :-D

Here's an easy link for anyone wanting to peruse just the foils:

I didn't see any on the trade finder, but I don't suppose you have any foil goblins in there?  I'm trying to pimp out my goblin deck.

I can look when I get home but I pulled out several but mostly just things like Mogg Fanatic, Mogg Flunkies and some other stuff from the F&L deck and maybe a few other assorted Goblins here and there.

Made a bunch of trades last week, still have a ton of promos and other foils left.  Also added a bunch of stuff to my tradelist from trades coming in this weekend.

This seems like relevant and worthy advice.  Maybe we can get a mod to sticky it until the end of the year?

I just did a massive update to my Tradelist involving around 400 to 500 common/uncommon and promo foils.  There are some lower value foil rares in there too that have been added, mostly promos.  There's not really too much in there that's going to be crazy as most of those had already been pulled out a while back but you never know what some people will be looking for.  :-)

So if you're looking for foils, especially from around Lorwyn to current with a healthy dose of Scars block and Innistrad check out my Tradelist.

Not looking for anything in particular, just items off my Wishlist or if you're interested make me a list of what you want and I can likely find something off your binder to trade for.  I use TCG Player Mid for foil prices but I also won't be hard and fast to that if you just want a stack of common/uncommon cards.  Even better if you let me know what YOU value them at (in total) and then at least I know where you're coming from on them and we can discuss.

Thanks!

Opened a trade for an offer on the Catacombs and Flats.

Made an offer for a few things on your wishlist.

Okay, that helps me a lot for future trades.  Being relatively new to this, I just assumed that tradelists included expendable cards, and wishlists included priority cards, so I based the value of the cards in a strictly monetary fashion.  Trading down theory makes a lot of sense.  Thank you for the help!

No worries, it's the little things you'll pick up, especially when dealing with high value cards.

There's also something else you need to take into account which is liquidity, or how easily a card is able to be traded.  For instance, I can't keep Thalia's in my tradelist for long.  As soon as I get them in, they're shipping out which is why I like trading for them, it's a sub $5 card that's a Modern/Legacy staple and I know I can usually move it into something bigger.

Compare that to something like Gravecrawler.  Same price around (around tree-fiddy) but I've had 6 of them sitting in my binder for months and just recently managed to move 3 of them.  Thalia and Jace both have some amount of liquidity to them on top of their ~$20 price tags.  I'm not likely to trade those unless I'm getting something that I can turn around and move as easily or easier as the case may be if I'm trading down.

This would be a situation referred to as "trading down".  More seasoned traders usually don't like to do it unless they are getting value in either the trade (as in they are getting extra value) OR they are trading things like Standard cards for Legacy/Modern/EDH staples that aren't likely to plummet in price at the drop of a hat.

If someone wanted two $20 cards from me and offered 6-7 $3-5 cards I'd probably scoff at the offer too.  It would have to be stuff I REALLY wanted or they would need to give me some additional value (10-20% depending on the cards) to make up the difference.

Hope that helps!

Thoughtseize and Snaps are gone.

Jace and everything but Stomping Grounds in Shocks are still sticking around.  Still looking for Verdant Catacombs and Marsh Flats.

Made an offer.

Scavenging Ooze Promo added to Tradelist if that sweetens the deal for anyone.

A bunch of pricier stuff added to my Tradelist.  All Shocks are now in the Tradelist as well.

Put a trade up.  Let me know if I'm in the ballpark.

I've started working toward some Zendikar fetches for my cube.  I have Arid Mesa but need the other 4.  Willing to give additional value, upwards of 10-15% depending on what you're asking for.  I'd even go as far as 25% for a bunch of smaller (sub $5) stuff.  I also have a lot of unlisted RTR Shocklands I can throw in, at least one of each.  I'll have them posted tonight in my Tradelist.

I also have cash through PayPal if that helps to close holes or seal some deals, especially for a Misty or Tarn.
