I think I know but I need to make sure as I hear a lot of people are confused about this card.

Sundial of the Infinite

You are going to hate me for asking yet another question but what about Etched Monstrosity will he still get his minus counters or not?

Update: I wasn't liking my old colorless build so I've built one I think will work better. Comments are welcome. This one you have the ability to throw down some huge creatures right from the start provided you get a Torpor Orb out there and even if you don't there are plenty of other meat shield type creatures you can put out to defend you till you come across one.

I probably wouldn't run four copies of a legendary land, especially one that doesn't even produce mana.

I didn't notice it was legendary. Fixed it.

Does Torpor Orb work on Eater of Days?

Happy to help lol

Actually I think having Deserted Temple and Eldrazi Temple is better than having those lands you mentioned.

To clarify, he is saying that he is playing casually with friends, it is not designed for competitive play and, as such, has no format restrictions.

I'll take a look at the list in the next few days and can give you some input, but, on average, milling is a pretty bad strategy.  It makes your job at least 3x harder than normal, all while requiring you to use cards that don't directly affect the board.  That being said, you will want to design a control-style deck that has a lot of countermagic, board wipes (if possible), and removal.  If you can manage that AND still have room to put together a solid way to mill 40+ cards, then you might have something.  But, if you're in a multiplayer environment with more than one opponent, really, it's just not going to work.

Ok I messed around with it a lot in order to add some counter spell and creature destroying. I can't wipe all creatures because as you will see a lot of my build is built around my creatures as well as my spells.

Please comment.

My play-style is the normal 7 card rule.

I play casually with two other people.

So then you're talking completely casual play.  Not a problem.  You can get away with a lot more in casual games than competitive ones.  Do you and your friends have any special rules that you run that we should be aware of?

That being said, it sounds to me like you need more counter magic to combat the control and burn aspects of your friends.  Mana Leak, Counterspell, etc would be good additions.  Even something as simple as a Vodalian Mage could prove useful.  I noticed you omitted Master of the Pearl Trident as well.

It all depends on what you're wanting to spend to improve things.  It would be possible to make your deck REALLY good, but it would cost quite a bit - which, at least in my experience, isn't worth it for casual play.

Thanks for the advice. I took it all and adapted them into the build. I use this site to set up decks before I buy the cards for them.

For casual play?  Competitive?  Format preference?  Budget?

I feel like a broken record sometimes, but the more information that can be provided with the first post, the more likely it is that the community of deckbuilders can offer some meaningful advice.

To play with my two friends of mine. One of them is more of a control player who really just plays to annoy the hell out of people. And the other guy plays mostly burn and flyer decks. The format is a normal 7 card game.

Personally, I think that it is too focused on a very specific goal when the payoff isn't fabulous.  You have a lot of tutoring cards, which will end up getting you a Stuffy Doll in play and then try to protect it while you hit it twice for a lot of damage.  If there was a single shot that you could expect to take out your opponent with, then this plan would be much more attractive.  As it is, each of the crucial cards costs a lot of mana, so it's probably going to be at least a couple turns to actually get anything to happen.

If I were making modifications I would drop the tutoring and Rebuff the Wicked to instead stick in more damage redirection creatures.  You can easily add some of:

Mogg Maniac
Boros Reckoner
Spitemare

You could also look at Inferno as another damage source since you would deal 18 damage to your opponent if you have two redirection creatures in play.  Another less attractive option is Crater Hellion -- it's a lot less damage, but you do get a 6/6 out of it.

If you drop the tutoring you also have better options for attacking to get in a bit of damage instead of just relying on a 1/1.

Thanks that info will be very helpful when i get the time to sit down and go over the build again.

Any advice would be helpful. Even if its just to tell me that the build is fine. I'm really new at MTG. The builds I have listed so far are just in my head at the moment.

I really just made this deck from scratch and have no clue how well it would really work. It seems like there are to many cards needed to really get stuffy going. I just need people to take a look and tell me if its a no go build or if it can be fixed with some tweaks or if its fine as is.

Lose the Trees of Tales, and replace them with forests.  Those artifact lands do nothing for you in this deck, and are more susceptible to removal than basic lands, also, they don't help boost Primal Bellows, which is one of the best pumps in this deck.

Ditch the spider umbras for another Rancor and two Livewire Lashes.  If you haven't seen it, Livewire Lash is brutal in this deck.  You don't even have to attack to be able to win.  Other than that, looks pretty solid.

Thanks for the advice.
