I'm trying to import some card via CSV and without fail I'm getting this message:

Error: The server encountered a problem trying to import your file. Please check that it is a plaintext csv file and try again.

It's been working fine for me ... even just a few days ago...i don't think I'm doing anything different.

Attatched is the file i'm trying to import

I've been dinking around with the alpha.deckbox site and I'm very impressed with it.

It's probably to late for this next release but i feel like being able to differentiate promo cards would be a good thing.  Wizards prints different promos with very different values than the original printing.  The obvious example being the judge promos.

Also I don't think the commander's arsenal has been added to the database yet

Yes, the problem exists, I've experienced the same stuff.

And another one thing (don't really know whether to post it here or in Site feedback and discussions). Would be great to have a possibility to create folders inside Inventory just as we can do in Decks. Together with working Spoiler View that would make collectioners' life easier: I'd like to divide cards I collect (now I'm trying to collect full sets of Classic Six and Seventh Editions) from cards I use to play, and Deck-like folders would be great thing.

Yess..very good idea!

Another thing that would be pretty sweet when viewing decks is a changelog (especially for commander decks).  Not sure how this would work but it would be cool if once a deck has been created any changes to that deck could be tracked somehow...hmmm.

It is entirely possible that you can do what I want to do and I just am not smart enough to get there.  The example that comes to mind was when I was trying to search a subset of cards that contained white OR red OR green OR any combination of those colors.  It seems like a NOT option in the search would achieve this.  I could get cards that had all three of the colors...or I could get cards that were mono-red or mono-green or mono-white.  I would like a search to be able to return all of  a Figure of Destiny, Birds of Paradise, Woolly thoctar in one search.

Would be really nice if under the advanced search, while viewing inventory or database, the color options were more robust.  It would be nice to have an option for multi-color, mono-color, and hybrid.  Also the ability to require certain colors in a search would be nice.

For the most part I'm happy with the sorting options available.  I would like the ability to view decks by color or by casting cost without being broken up into types.  Currently i can see my creatures sorted by color or my instants sorted by color but not the whole deck sorted this way.  An option to have a deck be presented as a list and not broken in to types would be nice.

Awesome ... just awesome...this site would replace my desktop app if this was implemented!!:D

The killer feature that deckbox really needs is the ability to import a whole collection complete with detailed information on each card all at once.

As it stand right now I have a very large collection completely categorized on a program called magic assistant.  This is great but would be even better if i could access this information online.  I can import my whole collection into deckbox but as far as i can tell the only way to edit information about each card is to do it one by one.  Keep in mind I already have this information in CSV.

I use deckbox right now but would really like it if this was implemented

Differentiating price by edition is soooo needed here.  One other thing that would be nice is an importer that could import thousands of cards and the editions they are from at the same time.  I have an excel file with my entire collection in it with edition information included but i have no way to easily import that to this site.

Just checking back in on this issue...flip cards still appear to be named incorrectly.

Yayyyy...i'll have to check out the advanced import this afternoon.  I really like this site and an update to two of the things i'm very interested in is just what the doctor ordered

I'm willing to trade by mail...and have completed one trade in this way...am I the exception?

Who is willing to trade out there..I'm trying to complete trades using this site and I'm not getting very far.  It's not that I'm getting turned down a lot, it's that nobody is even responding to my trade requests.  Is this particular site just going nowhere from a trading perspective?  If you are out there and you are interested in trading then look up my inventory and make me an offer.

Edit-I would love to get my hands on a mother of runes or two.

I have completed a trade with another user by mail and now whenever i click the "i have received my cards" button I am brought to an error message:

"500 Internal Server Error

If you are the administrator of this website, then please read this web application's log file to find out what went wrong."

Excellent!  Being a business analyst, I'm a big advocate of Excel and would be ecstatic to have all of my cards available in a spreadsheet.  It would be great if would also "break out" all of our cards with editions as separate rows.  Eg.  I own 5 Vesuvan Doppelgangers, 2 are Revised and 3 are Limited edition.  Would be great if 2 rows show up in Excel, 1 row for the 2 Revised edition Vesuvan Doppelgangers and 1 row for the 3 Limited edition Vesuvan Doppelgangers.  Thanks!! Great tool!

I second this thought of separating cards by edition.  I know that each card has a unique ID on wizard's own gatherer website.  For instance a search on Gatherer for Lightning bolt will yield the lightning bolt from the most recent printing but other printings of that card exist.  On the results page for any given card there are links to other printings.  Each of these other printings of cards have a unique ID.  As an avid collector and slightly type-a personality type I already have my cards inventoried digitally in this fashion.  The ability to have my inventory available to me online is very attractive but in the case of cards that have been printed more than once i cannot tell which editions I own.  I have put my inventory into deckbox using the mass import tool and it seems that the only way to put specific data about any individual cards is to go through one by one....when you have over 10,000 cards this could be very tedious.  If the mass import tool could look for extra data (edition, condition, foil) that would be the sweet.

Budoka Gardener is still missing...Dokai, Weaver of Life is incorrectly in the database.  Dokai is not the card name.

Agree with scorpse...for purposes of tracking a collection each card only has one name.

When doing mass import it would be nice if the importer would not only look for card name and quantity but also for other information such as edition, foil, condition and whatever else you can think of.  The Regular import is very basic and for the most part could be unchanged.  It would be nice if there was an advanced option so that one could import a large collection along with other stored data associated with each card.

One other thing....because I already have detailed collection information in a spreadsheet or text document it would be nice if I could entirely delete my inventory and re-import it again.  As it stands now, if I want to delete my inventory i can only delete it one page at a time....takes a long time.

Also the special characters that appear in cards like Æthersnipe do not get picked up by the mass import tool.  I use magic assistant for my collection and the export from there uses them so if I import my whole collection I have to manually go and find the ones that failed to import and import them one by one.

I can't find Budoka Gardener.  It is a rare creature from Champions of Kamaigawa
