That's very interesting. A lot of good ideas. I appreciate it.

Dear Deckbox,
I am writing you today to discuss changes to my grixis devotion deck (lovingly called Grixis Garry).
The deck is a lot of fun to play and despite the manabase is fairly consistent. The only problem is that it is very soft to burn (and bad draws, but what deck isn't?).
So I am asking what changes I should make main deck or side to help me not die to r/x aggressive and burn decks.
Sincerely,
100005037343704.

http://www.starcitygames.com/article/27 … e-Kid.html

With maybe some different sideboard choices, the new bng temples, etc, that I have been playimg casually for some months. Recently my lgs has started a friday and sunday fnm style event and I wanted to take this deck. However, before I do I was wondering if you fine folks could offer any suggestions to make this deck shine in the current meta.
Much appreciates.

EDIT:
here is the list I have slapped together:

Ok, after testing the midrange version of the deck, I have decided it can work, but I do not have the money to do so, so aggro it is. I am open to suggestions.

Man, thanks so much for the constructive feedback. I think this deck would survive the meta better as a midrange/control style. I tweaked the list to this (http://deckbox.org/sets/605080) and won a couple matches as is. what do you think I could stand to use/lose in the main or side? was considering read the bones or underworld connections for card draw. I want to find a place for Rakdos's return in here main board, but IDK, trying to balance straight up damage vs. creature/PW removal is befuddling. Thanks again.

Looking for some help with my casual red deck wins deck.the deck is fairly standard, focusing on small hasty creatures and burn spells to end a game fast. Great against aggro and ramp decks, but kind of poops itself against control, especially esper. Seems to run out of steam due to removal after turn 6 or so, and then Elspeth...

So my question is, how can I sideboard to keep the deck more threat dense and beat control?

Any progress?

You are very right, I have had some trouble vs bw enchantment with hex proof creatures, so devour flesh is a good call. And honestly, the reason I put four ultimate price in was because I don't have another whip, erebos, etc. And my meta is super aggro and killing their big fat green guy is very useful.

I completely agree, this card combined with broad stroke removal (ultimate price) on say a demon of some sort after copying it is fun.

There are some potentially interesting effects when copying obzedat or something. Lots of cool combos.

But to your point, if you are at the point that you can copy a gary, that is a fantastic win con. And being able to turn around a giant creature on a guy who is winning is great.

Anyways, I've been running this deck in my semi casual play group and I've been cleaning up nicely.

Thanks for the reply!

I was just wanting to discuss the interesting effect of playing clone in a deck with Gray merchants, Overlords,  Mogis' maraunders, etc.

I have had some interesting interaction of having Clone enter the field as a copy of say, a Nemesis of Mortals, letting it die 1 for 1 or something and then later on playing a gray merchant and then bringing back the clone as a copy of the merchant and hitting for like 9 damage.

the extra value of either copying their fatty and/or double dipping on something like a gray merchant seems devastating.

thoughts?

Selling my mint copies of Ashiok, The Nightmare weaver.
I will part with one for 17 dollars or best offer, and will sell the pair for 30 dollars or best offer.

Dissolve requires 2 blue mana, and with this being mostly blank, it can be a little inconsistent. But otherwise, it's the better choice.

Hello all, I purchased the intro pack 'Devotion to Darkness' and it got me thinking about a black permanents/some bluer sorceries etc. devotion style deck.
http://deckbox.org/sets/523715
It is built mostly from cards I already have, but I am looking for suggestions and advice to make this deck fit in a casual setting, using mostly standard cards.

Let me know what you think, thanks!:D

You are seriously the best. If it would bee possible to do a  tesya whatever her name is. The one that makes spirit tokens. I already have her. If not, wrexial or the anima or mimeoplasm.  Any of those. Thanks.

Yeah, I'll probably make them with some room to spare. I just need a basic idea of the size. Thanks!

I love orzhov and dimir. My friends like red green (forget the guild) and black green. Selesnya is a favorite as well as rakdos. Basically if it includes black or green, we are happy. Lol. Also I am really in live with the idea of a zombie deck. And if you have anything with wrexial or thraximindar, I would alleviate it. Thanks for your time and response!

Oh, if you have a chance and would want to check out my profile.I have budget wrexial, borybirgymos, and thraxmundar decks. And if you could let me know what ya think I would appreciate. Because those are the decks I am considering.

Yeah, I looked at that. And if worst come to worse, I'll do that, I just kind of like the idea of having something unique. But since neither of them cares much about making a deck, that may be my best option. Thanks for the response!

Hello everyone, I have been a long time magic player and I have just gotten 2 friends into the game. We play usually once a week and we use my decks I have made or bought. They have both expressed interest in having their own decks, and learning edh. Therefore I want to get each of them and myself a commander deck. But I do not want one to be way better than the rest, imbalance, or broken. So my request is for any commanders, deck ideas, or full lists for three edh decks that will play well together and be around 60 bucks a piece budget wise.

Tl;dr :
I am challenging you to create 3 edh decks that will pay well together without being cheap In a similar fashion to duel decks, all for under 150 dollars for the whole 300 cards

Thanks a bunch in advance!

Hello all, I was fiddling about the other day with my "old" black white extended deck, added some Theros, tweaked some stuff. But it's still in Extended. My playgroup doesn't really care what format, but since the retiring of extended, I was looking for some tips on how to fit this deck into modern.

The idea here is control of the board, draining life etc. while playing enchantments to boost Ethereal Armor, give Lifelink etc. and at some point swamp with creature tokens with overlord tesya and requiem angel.

It's super jank, and all these strategies kind of feed each other, but end up being pretty inconsistent. That said it's still fun,and this is all cards I had at the time from packs etc.

Any help of what to do to make it more even would be appreciated.

Good point. Had it in there for the apparent flexibility of the card, but murder is just better. Thanks!
