Tbh the only thing from premium that I think should be free is edition checklist. I am a person who likes collecting every basic lands with different arts and that would help me a lot. Also $4 in some countries is not that cheap at all. Some people, who play casual magic only and build decks for $10 only can't afford that.

Yet, that is not Deckbox's responsability to ensure every country in the world is able to pay for his services.

Hey there,

First, do you understand the color identity restrictions in EDH?
Since your commander is identified for the colors White and Green, you cannot use cards that can be identified to other colors.
For example, your Archers' Parapet cannot be used in your deck because of the above.

Also, I have a similar deck. What I aim for is token reproduction and life gain. Storm Herd is a perfect finisher for my strategy, maybe it could apply to yours as well.

With something that has "Whenever another creature enters the battlefield" effect, it just stacks so quickly.
For instance: Cathars' Crusade and Champion of Lambholt makes easy to stack the counters.

So as from what I could read, there are a few valid arguments about the new version of Deckbox.

For premium services:
-Potential increase in the number of features that will be implemented in the future
-Reduced waiting time to get support for premium users (see negative comment)
-Access to a few new features
-Mobile App

Agains't premium services:
-No user input for the $$ (surprise buttsex)
-Supporting free users will no longer be a priority
-Lots of those features do not seem like they needed to be paid for in order to get them (ex: password protection for decks, built deck, scratchpad...)
-Too expensive

I personally find that the previous version of Deckbox was exactly what I needed for my MTG card collection management.
I will continue to use it for its forums and the deck containers, but I will not pay such a high price for such a low return on investment. I just don't see a point in investing money into this. I understand there are costs, but there are other ways around them.

Any feedback on it would be welcomed. (FYI, it has yet to lose a duel, and has only ever lost once. The decks that beat it were a mono-red running Hostility and Jaya Ballard, an Azorius, and a werewolf deck that all teamed up on me.)

You seem to like diversity in your deck.
What is your main strategy?

The Stack

I understand the stack.
My question is about priority and not stack, even though they are tightly connected.

Hey guys, it's me again.

I'll start off by saying that I've been playing all my life in the following way, and then read an article that said otherwise.

1. I cast a planeswalker, goes on the stack
2. It resolves
3. In an instant speed, before an activated ability is sent to the stack, the opponent plays Heroes Downfall
4. Heroes downfall resolves as Planewalkers abilities are sorcery speed
5. Planeswalker dies

Correct order, according to the article in question, would be as follows:
1. I have priority, therefore cast a planeswalker, goes on the stack
2. It resolves
3. Priority is regained as I am the active played
3. I activate the planeswalker's ability
4. In response, opponent casts Heroes downfall
5. Heroes Downfall resolves, planeswalker dies
6. Planeswalker's ability resolves

I have not been able to find a reliable source of information regarding priority.
Can you guys let me know if you know the rules in question? This will affect my gameplay a whole lot...

Thanks

I also would like to point out you have lots of solos in the current set you posted.
If you plan on playing a specific combo, you'll want to increase the chances of it occurring by repeating cards. For example, your Ob Nixilis, Mohamoti Djinn, your Radiant Fountain are solos that I would personally remove to add other cards that are part of the strategy.

I have a friend who owns an artifact deck, maybe you should look it up: https://deckbox.org/sets/823424
Basically, turn 2 you have a 5/5 indestructible or a 5/5 attacking with Ornithopter, and then complement with Chief Engineer which makes it easy to play your Scuttling Doom Engine.

Thank you IronMagus, you cleared things up and saved the day.
Actually, I lost because of that but that's okay. I'll just... keep crying at night.
I was misinterpreting the rules.

Hey guys,

I have to admit MTG is pissing me off because it throws my logic into self-confidence issues every time I face a situation.
Here's my problem today:
Opponent controls Ankle Shanker and attacks.
I control Sidisi, Brood Tyrant and was able to trigger it twice before, therefore I have 2 2/2 black zombies.
I decide to block Ankle Shanker with both Zombies thinking, he will assign ALL the damage to a single target and my other zombie would bash it off.

Forget that Ankle Shanker is Deathtouch, he is a 2/2, therefore he needs to assign the whole 2 damage to a zombie before it dies.
Now remember it is, then if the zombie would be 2/3, it would still be dead according to the Deathtouch rule that mentions any damage is enough damage to destroy defending creature.

If you guys can help me with rules supporting your opinions, I'd be more than grateful.

Thanks.

Edit:
Rule 510.1c:  A blocked creature assigns its combat damage to the creatures blocking it. If no creatures are currently blocking it (if, for example, they were destroyed or removed from combat), it assigns no combat damage. If exactly one creature is blocking it, it assigns all its combat damage to that creature. If two or more creatures are blocking it, it assigns its combat damage to those creatures according to the damage assignment order announced for it. This may allow the blocked creature to divide its combat damage. However, it can’t assign combat damage to a creature that’s blocking it unless, when combat damage assignments are complete, each creature that precedes that blocking creature in its order is assigned lethal damage. When checking for assigned lethal damage, take into account damage already marked on the creature and damage from other creatures that’s being assigned during the same combat damage step, but not any abilities or effects that might change the amount of damage that’s actually dealt. An amount of damage that’s greater than a creature’s lethal damage may be assigned to it.

Rule 702.2b:  Any nonzero amount of combat damage assigned to a creature by a source with deathtouch is considered to be lethal damage, regardless of that creature's toughness

Which edition?
Also, you need to find buyers... don't expect to sell them as soon as you advertise them. The longer they remain for sale, the lesser its value will become.
If you think it is crashing again, I would personally hold.

My questioning results of this logic: in order for Deflecting Palm to be triggered, you need to deal damage. If you deal damage, but also take damage as a result, then damage is applied at the same time everywhere? If that's the case, then it was a tie?

Hey guys,

Faced another issue yesterday. I was at 5 life points, and my opponent 11.
I have an 11/11, two 2/2, and 8 1/1s.
I attack full force to end the game but he does Deflecting palm on my 11/11.

Who wins?
Do tie exist in MTG?

Thanks

I would set the land as something like:

2 Battlefield Forge
3 Caves of Koilos
3 Temple of Triumph
3 Temple of Silence
2 Temple of Malice
3 Bloodstained Mire
3 Mountain
2 Swamp
3 Plains

That gives you 8 untapped sources of each color and 5 or 6 tapped sources for each color.  The 8 scry lands should help even out your mana and set you up for whatever you need to play on turn three.

No worries. Talking about complex rules like this makes all of us better players. smile

I set the world ablaze with just a little question yikes

Hello guys,

I got a question regarding Trostani, Selesnya's Voice and Heliod, god of the sun.

Considering Heliod will not enter the battlefield as a creature if I dont have the devotion, the trigger on Trostani will not proc I would assume, but it tickles my mind because Heliod is still a creature according to the card...

So, I just want to know if the trigger on Trostani will ever proc with Heliod without the devotion.
If not, then I'll just keep crying at night.

Thank you.

I appreciate your honest feedback.

I will look into removing some of my delve cards and adding mana ramps so I can cast the bombs quicker.

Thank you and I'll reply here once my changes are done.

Well, here's my Sultai Standard deck (Blue/Black/Green)
If you guys have an improvement idea, I'd appreciate.
I played it twice so far, didn't have many chances to try it out but 1 vs 1, it's looking good so far!
https://deckbox.org/sets/782040

Embodiment of Spring

If I pay it's activated ability's cost, I will have sacrificed the creature.
Can it still be targeted before I sac it? or because the sacrificing was part of the cost, it cannot be targeted as paying a cost does not go on the stack?

Hey guys,

Me and my friends bought all the intros last weekends to be ahead of the game and see what the new set had to offer.
So far, we realized that the delve deck sucked balls, but I would like to play it still. I've customized mine and expect it to be not so bad while playing standard.

I was wondering what you guys are going to play in this new instance of STD legal block.
