Add preconstructed decks to your inventory quickly and easily using CSV files!

View the FULL LISTING OF PRODUCTS at MTG.PreconDB.com

Instructions: Open the above webpage, find and download the CSV for the product you want, then add it to your inventory via "Add Cards > From a CSV file". Note that this will add to your inventory rather than replace your inventory.

Contributions: Please help me build and maintain a list of CSVs. You can either create a CSV for a missing product and upload it via a comment on this thread (and then I'll get it added to the above webpage). Or you can just confirm the accuracy of the CSV files that I've created (usually only the basic land artworks need to be verified). You can find a list of unverified and missing CSVs on the webpage.

Thank Yous: Thankful for this resource and want to take a minute to let me know? You can do so heresmile

===========
Original Proposal
===========

I propose a new method of adding cards from preconstructed decks, for those of us who have the complete product and just want to add all applicable cards.

What I'd like to see as the ultimate version of this feature is the ability to add all the cards in a preconstructed sealed product to your inventory, all at once. I can see this being possible from 2 places:

  1. There would be a 5th option in the "Add Cards" area called "Add From Sealed Product", in which you can filter all the preconstructed products, select one, and add a full set of cards, as many times as you need to.

So if you have, e.g. 2 KTK Event Decks, you could filter by product ("event deck") and/or by associated set ("Khans of Tarkir"), tap the deck to select it, then tap an "Add" button twice.

  2. If you go to the Editions page, and then go to the "Sealed products for this edition" link, each product could have a similar "Add to Inventory" button.

This is different from the already existing Edition Checklist and "Add one of each card" feature in 3 ways:

  1. Most sealed products have multiples of many cards, not just 1x, so the proposed Add Sealed feature would add the correct number of each card.

  2. Not all sealed products are its own edition. While currently I can copy and paste a decklist for a Commander or Duel Deck into the "Add From List" field and then select the appropriate edition in "Default Values", this method wouldn't work for products like event and intro decks.

  3. For collectors who are as anal as I am, the correct quantities of each basic land by collector number in the product will be added. So e.g. rather than Duel Decks: Jace vs. Vraska having simply 21 Islands, it would add 5 of Island (# 37), 4 of Island (# 38), and so on.

I have a lot of sealed preconstructed products. I want to include them in my owned cards, but I don't want to open them just to determine what set a card is from or how many of each specific printing of a basic land there is.

As a temporary solution, as well as a contribution toward the permanent solution, we could start a community effort to upload CSV files of any preconstructed products that we own and have already opened, but that we can also guarantee accuracy on (in regards to the set each card is from as well as to the quantity of each collector number). While we're waiting for the Deckbox feature, users could go to this community resource and download the needed CSV files. This collection of files will also greatly assist the Deckbox team by providing them the necessary data to implement this feature.

Re: [Resource] Precon / Sealed "Quick Add"

Yup, this is a reasonable suggestion.

Re: [Resource] Precon / Sealed "Quick Add"

I agree Meldon! This would ba an awesome feature. Thanks for mentioning it

Re: [Resource] Precon / Sealed "Quick Add"

+1 Great feature request!

Re: [Resource] Precon / Sealed "Quick Add"

oK, so I've noticed a pattern in precons (that have their own edition): basic lands are divided evenly among the available collector numbers, and if there is an uneven distribution, the greater amounts are of the lower collector number.

Example:

An edition has Plains # 77 - # 80.
A deck in that edition has 21 Plains.
There will be 6x Plains # 77 and 5x Plains # 78 - # 80.

This rule is not consistently followed. For instance, in Duel Decks: Speed vs. Cunning, there are 3x Island # 75 and # 76, but 4x Island # 77. However, all of the rest of that set follows the rule.

I have not found any other instances of this rule being broken in the 7 opened Duel Decks and 3 opened Commander decks I have. Based on this consistency, I have created CSV files for all of the Duel Decks, Commander, and PDS products. I have duly marked these CSV files as unverified.

If anyone owns these products and can confirm that the CSV files are 100% accurate, please post your confirmation below. And obviously if you find an error, let me know. smile

Re: [Resource] Precon / Sealed "Quick Add"

This project has been dead for quite a while, but due to a recent post requesting the very same feature, I decided to resurrect it to see if there was still interest in a community-compiled repository of CSV for sealed products.

I just added CSVs for the Guild Kits. Let me know if there's specific sealed products I should focus on adding first. Contributions from others would be very welcome!

Re: [Resource] Precon / Sealed "Quick Add"

I Will gladly upload csv files as I make them on the various Pre-constructed decks as I build them. I noticed your Listing was not fully complete as it listed only a few of the many Pre-constructed decks. I have many of the stand alone decks that I'll also include csv files for.

Note

  • All my CSV files list Card Condition as Good (Lightly Played) and Language is English

  • Any Red Numbers indicate cards I don't have but Know are in Sets.

Some of my Completed Lists

* Note I could find all But 3 of the Cards in this set So Only One Foil Is listed.

Edit: I Have Added A few Lists Via Dropbox Links. 1/16/19

This is not always the case take Intro Deck: Orzhov Power (Dragon's Maze) the Swamps in the Deck follow example you've given however the Plains in the deck do not, in fact the odd card went to the second from the Highest set number.

Exactly. That was the very inconsistency I was evidencing by citing the example of the Islands in Duel Decks: Speed vs. Cunning. It's the general pattern, but not a set-in-stone rule.

This is why I've asterisked and colored red any precon I haven't actually opened. Blue links have been fully verified.

Thank you so much for your contributions! I'm painfully aware how lacking my list is in completeness. Haha. I'm hoping to add more of the decks soon. Please suggest which ones you think should be highest priority.

I will be adding what I have as I get them entered again in deckbox

Re: [Resource] Precon / Sealed "Quick Add"

I know this takes an extra step, but can't one simply copy the card lists from the WotC site and paste them into the box to add cards by list?

For some of the precons, of course! And that's how many people have been doing it.

Here are the cases that that method won't easily cover, though:

  • Multiple editions -- Some decks have their own editions (like Commander decks), and others are all predictably from the same edition (like all 60 cards in an RNA Planeswalker deck are from RNA). With these, copying the decklist and setting that edition works fine. But take the recent Guild Kits as an example: some of the cards are from the "Guild Kit" edition, while other cards in the decks are from GRN/RNA. The Challenger decks had cards from SIX editions: KLD, AER, AKH, HOU, XLN, and RIX. For these, you'll have to manually set each card's edition after import, or import the deck list in batches for each edition! Yuck.

  • Foils -- Even though Planeswalker decks are all from one edition, they also have a foil card (and Commander decks have 3). Importing via a decklist would entail yet one more step of finding the card that's supposed to be foil and manually changing its foil status. In some cases, these foil face cards have also been alternate art promos, thus needing a separate edition.

  • "Non-deck" cards -- There's also the case of the oversized commander cards, which aren't usually listed in decklists. (They are also foil and from their own edition.) Tokens fall into this category as well -- not included in the decklists, and have their own edition.

  • Multiple art for one card -- This most commonly applies to basic lands, which some people don't care about or track, but more recently it has affected non-basics. If you import from a decklist, you'll get e.g. 24 Islands of a single artwork / collector #, when in fact your inventory should reflect 8 Islands of 3 different artworks / collector #s. But it's not just basics. In the Guild Kits and GRN/RNA Planeswalker decks, there's 4x Guildgates in each deck, but each Guildgate has two art variants. You should import 2 of each variant, not 4 of one, which is what would happen by using a decklist.

*Exception: Kefnet the Mindful - It's both in a main deck and in a sideboard, so I merged it

Thank you so much for contributing! It's comments and assistance like this that make the project feel worth doing.  smile

I have added the CSV files to the original post. I made a couple tweaks:

  • More clearly labeled the sideboard within the CSV file (the "Sideboard" heading doesn't affect import at all).

  • Reordered the cards in Edition > Coll.# order (just to match the ordering of all the other CSVs).

  • Merged a couple other duplicates (Renewed Faith, Aethersphere Harvester). I also threw in a column called "Deck Count" to note how many of a merged card should be in the maindeck vs sideboard (column is ignored during import).

All the tweaks make sense. I will keep them in mind for future contributions.

I was not sure what to do with tokens. There are no double-sided tokens available as with e.g. Guild Kits, so I just added both sides separately.

Here are two preconstructed Commander decks I own

Thanks once again! They have been tested for successful import and added to the original post.

I am not a fan of the current token system for commander products. They should be re-done to be like the guild kits. I chose not to include the tokens in the CSVs due to this issue—either your inventory reflects double the amount of tokens that you actually own, or you're listing multiple of a single token face, when in fact they may have different backs and thus be different cards from each other. I don't think either option makes for good inventory tracking, so until this gets fixed, I'm leaving the tokens up to each individual user.

Re: [Resource] Precon / Sealed "Quick Add"

MAJOR UPDATE: I created a web page (hosted on GitHub) that should be a 99% comprehensive listing of all preconstructed products that WotC has ever released (excluding some of the most basic starter decks, like the Two Player sets and Welcome Decks). If there's a product that I haven't listed, please let me know and provide a link to the source!

And yes, I borrowed Deckbox's styling, just for fun.  big_smile

Doing this allowed me to clean up / shorten the original post in this thread (since this forum software doesn't include spoiler blocks), including only the most recent products that the majority of people will want to be adding.

Page: bit.ly/MTGprecons (note that capitalization matters with Bitly links!)

Tested on Chrome (desktop and Android), Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Opera.

Internet Explorer 11 does not support the Javascript, so instead the page displays a "jump menu" in place of the dropdowns.

Re: [Resource] Precon / Sealed "Quick Add"

Very cool. We could even use PRs to submit new entries. smile

Any particular reason why not to include starter decks, welcome decks etc. ? They contain legal cards, some of them actually played. I own Spellslinger and it would be useful for me to add it to my collection via .csv.

I went through my Mind vs. Might duel deck and I can confirm, that the .csv is correct. I verified that all cards are included, that they have a correct amount of copies and a correct collector number. Let me know if there is something else to check.

Mostly just because it was a lot of work as it was! LoL. And I figured it would be better to focus on the major products first.

At some point I'll probably get them all listed as a new category, so if you wanted to proactively submit a CSV for the Spellslinger set or any other starter products you may have, feel free and then I'll already have them on-hand at the time I update the listings.  smile

Thanks so much! I'm about to commit a new version within the next couple days, so I'll mark that product as verified as soon as I do.

As to other products to check, just glance through the lists, and double-checking anything that you own that's marked in red would be greatly appreciated!

((I actually own all of the duel decks except the Ajani half of Ajani vs. Nicol Bolas, but most of them I'm keeping as sealed product. Only the ones currently marked in blue were opened to where I could check them.))

Re: [Resource] Precon / Sealed "Quick Add"

UPDATE

At this point, everything except the many, MANY Intro/Theme decks and Starter/Welcome decks have been added. I will not be aggressively creating and adding CSVs for all those products as I have been for everything else, simply because there's so many of them and the task is a tad daunting. I will gladly add any CSVs submitted by others, and I will continue to add new products as they come out.

Re: [Resource] Precon / Sealed "Quick Add"

UPDATE:

I've realized for a while now that the extra clicks to have the links first take you to my Dropbox, then to actually download the files, were unnecessary. However, the task of updating all the links to be direct ones was going to take me a little while, so I've been procrastinating on it. But I finally got all links successfully updated to directly download the desired CSV file!

Please let me know if there are any broken links or links that point to incorrect CSV files.

Re: [Resource] Precon / Sealed "Quick Add"

So I watched an unboxing video of the M20 Spellslinger Kit in order to verify the CSV, and one oddity stuck out to me -- while the Mountains in the red deck had the standard distribution of 7,7,6,6 across the art variants, the Plains in the white deck had a weird distribution: 8,6,6,6. There was only a single unboxing video at the time that showed the lands, so I couldn't check if this was a consistent deviation, but I went ahead and marked the CSV as verified. Please let me know if there's an issue with these land counts!

I just verified the CSVs for PC2009 Zombie Empire, Commander (2011) Counterpunch, Commander (2011) Devour for Power, and Commander (2011) Mirror Mastery and the CSVs you have are correct with counts, including basic lands.

Thank you so much! I'll get that updated at the same time I add the Commander 2019 decks.  smile
