Topic: "Last Important Printing" update. Tarkir tokens, Art cards, spg, sld

I have updated the way the Last Important Printing of cards is set, - it was 'stuck' in the past for many cards. This is shown in decklists when exact printings are not chosen for cards, and in the card database listing, as well as used as a price value for other places without specific printings (like Wishlists).

The heuristic now prioritizes the most recent printing generally, and the cheapest printing in a set. Set categories also are important - Core / Expansions are higher than Commander / Masters / Compilations, that are higher than Promos. Price is also taken into account - if an older printing is much cheaper than a more recent one, the older / much cheaper one is chosen. I have renamed the tooltip now to say Cheapest Recent Printing to better reflect this, although it still is misleading - it's not always the cheapest, not always the most recent.

Using just cheapest would be wrong in many cases where prices are slightly (but not completely) off, every basic land would be some other random recent-ish edition. Erroneous price spikes would mess it up too. Most recent would also be incorrect, with the increasing amount of promo and special printings.

If you see cases where a completely weird / off printing is chosen as "main", please let me know, I am sure this has to be tweaked more, and that edge cases definitely exist.

Other imports today:
- imported Tarkir: Dragonstorm Art Series
- imported recent Secret Lair Drops
- imported Tarkir: Dragonstorm Special Guests
- imported Tarkir: Dragonstorm double-sided tokens
- imported Love your LGS 2025 Wastes
- fixed Commander legality for Tarkir: Dragonstorm

Still to come the following days: Tarkir Prerelease cards, and I'm looking into fixing some pricing issues for a bunch of Secret lair and MH2 etched foils.

love the updates to the site!  Thanks!

I have a token from Commander Masters that is dual sided that doesnt seem to be on Deckbox, is there a way to add it?

It is the Emblem: Teferi, Temporal Archmage (0053) // Clue (0040) token

Is there a way to have this added into deckbox?

Thanks

Sebi, thanks a lot for all your work!

I got a question: is there a way to sort cards in the opposite manner, by "the earliest printing"?
I have a very practical need for this. I maintain several MTG card collections in my own way, which involves getting any one printing of a specific card matching that collection's criteria.

For a simple example, I collect Wraiths. All cards that have Wraith subytpe. Yeah, I know, I'm weird big_smile
So, to display all cards that I would need to complete my collection, I use this:
https://deckbox.org/games/mtg/cards?f=4 … =e&o=a
It shows all Wraiths ever printed, and I can see which cards I'm lacking, all good, just what I need.

However, I place all of my collections in binders. Ideally, I would like to be able to place them in order of appearance. If you look at the link above, for example the Street Wraith appears out of order. It was first printed in Future Sight, so it's supposed to be between Odylic Wraith and Bog Wraith in that list. It's easy to properly insert Street Wraith since this is a very small collection, but when you take the Myr collection for example (yeah, I know, I'm weird wink ), there are many of them and they have been reprinted all over the masters sets, it's becoming very hard to keep proper ordering in my collection.

Btw, the standard sets being apart from special sets is totally fine, that's exactly how I place them. However, if a card appeared in both (like Street Wraith), I would like to place it in the appropriate part, wherever it was printed for the first time ever, in proper order.

Is there a way to sort database cards this way? If not, would you consider ever introducing such sorting?
