Nope, sorry. I had plans to make one, but since Apple introduced a new programming language, instead of attempting an Android version (and learning JAVA), I have to learn Swift.

I, for one, cannot wait until you release it. Great work!

Re: iDeckbox v1.0 for iPhone and iPad is AVAILABLE :-)

Spent a lot of time reading through this forum and it's very exciting. I don't mean to be annoying by any means but it's been a little while since any posts. So are you getting closer to completion? Any idea of a release date? Or with Swift being released, do you think you'll re-program it using that making it a while longer before you can release anything?

Also, I've used your Life Counter app and think it's great. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the counter shout out.

The app is in the works. Holiday season and me going full indie doesn't help, but if all planets align I'll release it in the beginning of september. I've got another similar project available (Wishlist for Magic) and am thinking about merging them together, but iDeckbox will get it's update soon.

I don't want to get in a debate about iphone vs android but my question to all businesses remains, Why do you favor iphones vs android? it seems that most companies/businesses choose to create an iphone app before an android app. why? according to many articles (this one for instance http://www.businessinsider.com/iphone-v … re-2014-5) android has close to an 80% or higher market share vs iphone's 15-18%. if only for basic math in sales.

i am going to use small numbers to make my point but they will work for larger numbers too. if we have 1000 smart phone users there are 800 android and 150 iphone. at $1 per app buy, you make $800 off android and $150 off iphone. you would have to charge $5.3 for iphone just to make the amount for a $1 app for android.

It also seems to reason that learning android os which will probably always be based in java is better than learning what ever iphone changes to when they feel the need to.

just my 2c

i must say though that i love your site!

Because whereas android has a larger global market share (dominating asia); apple has a much larger share in the us and europe...users from these regions spend much more money on apps.

Out of those 800 android users in your example, only 3-4 may buy your app whereas 6-8 of the 150 iphone users would. and those 6-8 would make many more in-app purchases.

Probably don't need to bump it every 4 days.

Because it's unnecessary spam. The developer has already stated that an update is in the works, and bugging him constantly about it isn't going to speed up the process any.

I can think of a few reasons aside from the typical answers:
- He may not have an android phone.
- He may not know Java.
- He may already know Java, but not the Android SDK. He may not want to invest the time in learning it when he already codes for iOS.
- He may have a Mac and chose to learn Objective-C/Swift because then he can make Mac apps.

This application is clearly a hobby. People have lives, give the dude some space.

Re: iDeckbox v1.0 for iPhone and iPad is AVAILABLE :-)

Any news of when the iphone app will be available again?

Re: iDeckbox v1.0 for iPhone and iPad is AVAILABLE :-)

Thank you for your continued interest in the Deckbox app. Unfortunately, the development has been put on hold for the time being. The reason, as always, is lack of proper API's. Sebi and the Team, since they started monetising the site, have other priorities and that's understandable. I, on the other hand, just don't want to sound like a broken record and keep asking them for the API's, which obviously are not coming.

I think I owe you some explanation, though:

  • The app somewhat works right now. It even downloads decklists, though not grouped in folders (some screenshots are posted below). There are some minor bugs, obviously, but for it to be released, it would need a lot more work and polish.

  • I gave up on making the Android version myself a long time ago. I do have a skilled friend, who would help, but since there are no API's and the app brings zero revenue, there are no incentives for him to even start working on the app.

  • I started a somewhat child project a year ago, called "Wishlist for Magic", which is in development right now. The app is already available on the App Store ( https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wishlis … 77921?mt=8 ) and in the next version it'll handle other lists. I did think about adding an "import from deckbox" feature to help out iDeckbox fans, but honestly there are more important things that need to see the light of the day before this could happen. However, if such an idea would appeal to iDeckbox users, I could make it happen.

If you have any questions or suggestions, shoot.

Re: iDeckbox v1.0 for iPhone and iPad is AVAILABLE :-)

So... Sebi announced his own apps for iOS and Android, which would use a private API for now (no ETA on an API I could use), therefore this project is officially closed on my end. Thank you for your interest in the app. I'd love for it to be a much more polished and sophisticated program, but I'm sure Sebi will come up with something you'll be pleased to use.
