Going with no lands was a bold choice. ;)  Interesting decision going with all the removal in the sideboard.  How did that work out?

    Chalice of Plenty

Long ago, three sisters walked the land offering life for those that asked for it. This is their story:

“The dead have it easy. They suffer no more. If breaking their rest helps the living, so be it.” Olka, the mistmeadow witch said of the endless spectral procession. This is how life was. Hard and unforgiving. The youngest of the three sisters, the soul’s attendant, was disillusioned as well.

It was often said about the young girl; in truth, her own faith was gone, trodden in Ulamog’s wake. She pantomimed the blessing in the hope that it would inspire others to continue to struggle. Then, as if prayers were answered, a marble chalice was given to the sisters. The cup was a gift from the sphinx Tameron, who hoped that those who drank from it would live long enough to decrypt the sphinxes’ wisdom.

Many had attempted to decipher the cup’s meaning. Baron Sengir said of the elixir of immortality: “Bottled life. Not as tasty as I’m used to, rather stale, but it has the same effect.” The Baron was wrong, but the sisters knew. They had finally gained Tameron’s wisdom.

The congregation of the sisters sang loudly, “In the gathering there is strength for all who founder, renewal for all who languish, love for all who sing.” The soul warden sister sang, “One does not question the size or shape of the grains of sand in an hourglass. Nor do I question the temperament of the souls under my guidance….” The martyr of sands sister finished the thought, “ [For] Only in our vulnerability is there true power, and that power is life itself.”

Ajani’s pridemate, his brother Jazal Goldmane, may have said it best when he said, “When one of us prospers, the pride prospers.” For it is said, that the chalice of life is the sweet taste of hope’s promise, and that without it we would only find the chalice of death, the bitter taste of life’s only certainty.

The sisters unlocked the secret from the sphinxes’ chalice and shared it with the many that went to the battlefield with them. Some called them heroes, others called them blasphemous. Whatever you think of them, do not revoke their existence, for even the great philosopher Uremides said, “There will come a time when the gods will look at mortals and shudder.”

Thus ends the story of the three sisters, the SOUL SISTERS.
