That's the question I keep asking myself haha!.. I actually don't follow the modern scene too closely. It's very much a casual format to me (I'm an all-in legacy player). That being said...

It is a fun deck to play! It's one of the few decks that will often choose to be on the draw rather than the play... raises eyebrows for sure.

It is very much a fringe deck, one that people don't expect to see often in match-ups. So the suprise factor can be on your side, but ultimately don't expect to make many top 8's. It wins by being one step ahead of the other guy the entire game by making sure it always has an answer to whatever is drawn or enters the field. So, it's weak to strategies that can get a lot of 2 for 1s early on in the game, or that can win off of very few resources since you'll be attacking those a lot.

Smallpox, one of the best cards for the deck, is now in flux due to Wrenn & Six being able to grab lands back. Wrenn can be a problem... but that being said...

This deck will eat slower strategies for breakfast. ESPECIALLY Urza (I'm undefeated against Urza with 8rack), Tefferi doesn't matter at all, and I've also had a lot of success against Jund. So, if you see a lot of those in your meta this could do well.

But try it for sure. Choose to go on the draw, let them play a land and pass and then smile, since they won't cast anything with that land anyway, and they're already closer to having no hand at all. You're gonna love it ;)

Ive been looking into stepping into modern, but cant stand meta decks, so i like to play onthe fringe. Might give it a go when I get some time. thanks!

Then this will be perfect for you I think! The cards are affordable too except for LilianaOTV. Kind of a troll deck at times so be prepared for a few groans too lol
