Notes

This deck is heavy based around cheap defender cards. While defenders cannot attack on their own, several enchantments and Arcades allow it. The general idea is to build a strong defense and wait until you have the right board state to summon your commander. While he’s key to the whole operation, he’s an easy target. So, this deck is pretty straightforward… but allow me to overview the components.

The Meekstone is the most powerful piece in the deck because most of your creatures will not have power 3 or greater, making it a 1-sided freeze. Even if you’re using Ajani the Greathearted or the Gavony Township to give your creatures counters, Ajani would also give them vigilance.

Speaking of that Ajani, him and the proliferate proc from Inexorable Tide are key to refreshing your other planeswalkers. You’ll need Teyo, the Shieldmage to keep pumping out walls to proc Arcades’ draw effect. Huatli, the Sun's Heart gives you a ton of life and acts like a weaker version of High Alert. Though the strongest planeswalker is your Elspeth, Sun's Champion as she can basically unleash boardwipes and give you lots of weenies…

Which by the way, those weenie power babies and those made from Thallid Shell-Dweller or the Hornet Nest become unblockable with Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive. He’s a central part of the win con. Hopefully all your walls will also be unblockable, guaranteeing outright victory.  Even if Tetsuko dies, you still have two other ways to create unblockable creatures - the Rogue’s Passage, and Suspicious Bookcase (albeit only 1 creature, not basically all).

You’ll want to name “Walls” with Metallic Mimic. Just one +1/+1 counter is not enough to trigger the Meekstone on your 0 or 1 power creatures and it gives you the choice to proliferate them.

Since Arcades and your enchantments are very valuable, you’ll need a good board state before becoming an obvious target. The Resolute Watchdog is a good boi to protect your commander. And, Dive Down is strong against spells. Teyo makes you, the player, hexproof and thus prevents most discard, sacrifice, and mill target effects. Then, the Hall of Heliod's Generosity is vital to returning enchantments, like High Alert.

This deck has seven enchantment spells! If they are all in play with the Sphere of Safety, creatures can't attack you unless their owner pays a whopping seven mana for each! Use the sphere to prevent you from being a target.

If you need, you can even use Mirror Mirage to copy the Sphere of Safety at instant speed, effectively doubling the mana cost for attacks. However, you can also copy an opponent’s target or you might want to copy Suspicious Bookcase to have two unblockable attackers. There’s a lot of possibilities…

Oh and you can make indefinite copies of your creatures with Helm of the Host. If you can, copy Arcades for insurance.

The Junktroller feels a little expensive compared to other defenders, but you should use him in response to someone attempting to exile a card from your graveyard. Also, the troll could be used in response to stop another player from returning a card from their own graveyard (though this means they can use a tutor to find it later). He’s a decent counter to Golgari shenanigans.
