Players have unlimited mana to cast spells and activate abilities. Players may only cast one spell each turn for its mana cost. Spells cast for their alternate casting cost (Evoke, Convoke, Surge, Flashback, Cycling, etc.) do not count towards the one-spell-per-turn limit.

Spells with additional costs (kicker, entwine, etc.) still count as your spell for the turn.

Players share one library ("the stack"). Any effects which reference a player's library reference the stack instead.

Each player starts with an opening hand of 5 cards. 

Each player draws one card per turn (including their first turn). 

Each player has a maximum hand size of seven cards. 

If effects iterating infinitely are in opposition to each other, the defensive effect wins.
