Another deck came out of the first week of Gatecrash Standard, this time from Japan's own Tomahiro Saito. Mono-Red decks have been popular over the last few weeks for their blazing fast speed and ability to race the decks with Thragtusk. Tomahiro has added Flinthoof Boar (who gets a huge bonus from the newly released Stomping Ground), and Burning-Tree Emissary for amazingly explosive starts, especially if you can chain multiple Emissarys into each other.

This deck also features Boros Reckoner, a card that has been getting a lot more attention in the last week. While three-mana 3/3s don't do much by themselves, Reckoner's ability to punish people who damage him make him an ideal blocker or a nearly unstoppable attacker. This deck knows how to start the damage, and how to keep the pressure on.

The sideboard comes with Volcanic Strength for the mirror, Flames of the Firebrand for the popular Elf-heavy acceleration decks, Reckless Waif for control strategies, and Traitorous Blood as an answer for would-be blockers like Thragtusk.
