So, no more Chromatic Sphere?  How come?  (I'm not implying it should be in the list, I'm just curious.)

I've never once used it to play around removal and is a pretty bad draw maindeck anyway. Any other instant speed draw spell and whatever mana to cast it also beats a removal spell. As does discard.  Just seemed like a wasted slot.  Another Lotus Petal gets you earlier pass the turn Doomsdays for Lab Maniac.

The bigger changes were in the sideboard, actually.  Cut Time Spiral and Empty the Warrens, Pyroclasm, and an Abrupt Decay for a Treasure Cruise and 2 Carpet of Flowers, and Toxic Deluge. Not sure on only 2 Abrupt Decay, but Treasure Cruise was pretty awesome in a discard matchup, and a good replacement for Time Spiral in terms of refilling your hand after getting it shredded.

Would Dig Through Time be better than Cruise?  Yeah, it costs more after the full Delve, but it seems like finding two specific cards is better than the top three cards of your deck...?  But then again I guess the decks you need it against are also Wasting all your lands so the extra blue mana could be a deal-breaker.  What do you think?

The problem is that neither of them are castable post-Doomsday.  So you don't really want them maindeck.  I like all of my cards to have a use after resolving Doomsday.  You could be right though - in which case Dig belongs maindeck.  But finding Doomsday or Burning wish usually isn't a problem.  I'm also not sure what I would cut for it - probably a radically different build of the deck without red or something, but that seems iffy.

I can't use Dig how I'm using Treasure Cruise, however, because it's an instant, and you can't Burning Wish for it.

Oh duh, I forgot Dig is an instant.  Disregard everything I said above, because I'm a moron.  I definitely wouldn't want Dig in the main.

How often to do find yourself Wishing for Time Spiral?
    • Graham | 18-Apr-2014 23:28
Probably not as often as I should be, truly. It is a great way to recover after lots of discard and a storm engine on it's own.
