Notes

Another 4-man draft at Jeff's house with me, Jeff, Alex & Vegas.  We did "Rochester-style" this time, where basically the group drafts one pack at a time, and everything is done face up.  So you know what everyone else is playing, and everyone knows what you're playing.

It was very interesting, though it made hate-drafting kind of cruel since you're basically screwing someone over and you know and they know it.  At least in a normal draft, if you hate-draft you're not doing it to a specific person (usually).

I ended up with a mostly-Simic deck again, eerily similar to the draft we did last week.  I didn't set out to go into Simic again, but I was surprised/lucky with a lot of the cards that fell into my lap.  I was especially lucky with the packs I opened (you each open 3 packs total, the person who opens the pack picks first): I opened Eidolon of Blossoms, Herald of Torment, and Mistcutter Hydra.

My deck ended up being a midrange deck with strong card draw, mana fixing, and control, and a few super strong finishers.

I went 3-0 (6-1), only losing a game to Alex's Gruul deck.  Vegas had what seemed like a strong Orzhov deck, but at least in our games I was able to shut it down.  Jeff had a Simic or Bant deck, but I think his deck just ended up not being that good because of bad luck during the drafting and/or he took too long to move into specific colors.
