Cost me $16 to ship 7200 cards in a large Flat Rate box (weighing in at 24lbs), which is a pretty good return rate.

Re: More Crazy Standard Deck Ideas... Win, Lose, or Draw? (4 replies, posted in Decks and Deckbuilding)
The basic premise here is to run with Shimian Specter - I don't know how this card isn't seeing more play
Well, the answer to that question is three fold.
It's a 2/2 Flier for 4 mana with the restriction of requiring two black and is very susceptible to burn spells with only two toughness (and Heartless Summoning would leave it open to a single Gut Shot or any other burn spell, so definitely don't do that).
For 4 mana, most black players would rather play something to more quickly end the game, not stall it out. And when you take into consideration that you have a whole bunch of extra cards in there to help it get through, it obviously doesn't do the job itself, like a lot of other cards do.
There are cheaper options to do essentially the same thing. See Surgical Extraction.
But, as far as the premise of the deck goes, I like the idea. Essentially get them to the point of only having lands in there deck is actually rather humorous. I think you really should play on that fact and run some Surgical Extractions, and then really pair both up accordingly with other spells. This deck is just begging to be a control deck, but it is too spread out. Definitely needs some more straight out destruction and disruption.
Destroy or counter something big, Surgical Extraction. Unsummon/Vapor Snag, attack with the Specter. I think you need to worry a lot less about tying up their creatures with things like Sleep and making your guys unblockable, instead focus your efforts more on just removing them from play in whatever way possible. If you can bounce or destroy everything they have, why do you need your guy to be unblockable? Plus, that would give you far more options for exile targets.
Sorry for rambling, it is late...

Not all LGS's sell bulk C/U like that. I know that mine doesn't, they only sell singles, so that isn't always an option.

Re: Looking for help (2 replies, posted in General Discussion)
There isn't ever any perfect way to make sure everything goes to plan, a lot of it is based on trust.
If you look at somebody's profile on here (here is mine) there is a rating based upon the number of trades that they have done through the mail.
So, I have completed 42 trades, all of which have been positive. You can check out what people's trades have been as well by clicking the Trades link in the left-hand sidebar on their profile.
A lot of people enact the rule that if you have less than 5 trades, or if you have a certain number of negative reviews, then you have to send the cards/money first. For instance, if I was trading with somebody who has no finished trades on deckbox, then I simply request that they send their cards first. After I receive their cards, then I send mine.

I think that making this field mandatory might be a good idea, if only to help out newcomers that don't know why things didn't work out.
And there could be an additional option of "Other..." that lets you specify your own reason.

Re: Trading Ideas (5 replies, posted in Site Discussion)
I thought of another idea to add to the trade interface.
Some additional fields that allow for general agreed shipping type and other such things. For instance, if I'm doing a $50+ trade, I'd really like to make sure that the other person is going to send their cards properly packaged and with Delivery Confirmation/Tracking. A checkbox could be added that would specify that both sides are going to supply a tracking number.
And then, once both people have shipped their cards, an additional textbox could show up that would allow them to supply that tracking number so the currently data for the package can be displayed right there in the page. This would make things much more simple compared to having to track down the DC# in the chat history and then copy/pasting it over to the USPS website, especially because I know a lot of people like to do stuff on their phones.

Re: Blue Green Mill [Standard], [Opinions] (4 replies, posted in Decks and Deckbuilding)
I think you could probably get more use out of Jace's Erasure by including a couple other draw effects, or possibly cut them for something else. Don't get me wrong, Erasure can be an awesome card if you use it right; I know a guy who runs a Pauper deck with it as his only win condition, but he has tons of card draw.
Some additional draw options could include:
Trading Post - This would actually give some additional usefulness to any extra Sands of Delirium you have, since anything after the first is useless and you have four. Play an extra Sands, sac it, draw a card. It would also allow you to get back any of your artifacts that they happen to destroy, or reuse a Tormod's Crypt.
Staff of Nin - You already have the ramp to easily get it out early in the game. Might as well get some extra card draw and some easy pings out of it.
Soul of the Harvest - Again, you have the ramp, and with so many little guys to cast this can be some great card advantage.
I gotta run at the moment, but I can come back later with some more ideas.

Re: Advice needed on golem tribal deck [Opinions] [Standard/Extended] (4 replies, posted in Decks and Deckbuilding)
So, having tried a similar Golem deck myself I can say that you shouldn't use Glassdust Golem, you're not always going to be casting artifact spells and the splicers don't work since you aren't casting the artifact part.
Unless I'm looking at something wrong, Glassdust Hulk says "Whenever another artifact comes into play under your control...", so it should work just fine in this deck.

Re: Krenko's Elves [Standard], [Opinions] (7 replies, posted in Decks and Deckbuilding)
What would you recommend cutting to fit in one or both of those?
That's where I struggle the most--figuring out what to cut. I get something that works fairly well, but the more I tweak it, the worse it tends to play.
Yeah, that's always my biggest struggle as well, which is why most of my deck ideas are sitting at like 75 cards at the moment, because I can't decide what I want to cut. I guess the best answer I have is just to keep playing it and see what cards end up not being as helpful or used as often as you originally thought.
Off the top of my head, I'd say that you could probably cut some Goblin Arsonists. You'd probably rather be spending your early mana for ramp instead of a goblin that has rather limited usability.

Re: Krenko's Elves [Standard], [Opinions] (7 replies, posted in Decks and Deckbuilding)
I actually think it is a very interesting idea.
A neat addition might be Beast Within. Would allow you to deal with some larger threats quickly, like Planeswalkers, but once you have a Parallel Lives or two out you can then easily use it on your own creature tokens or Goblin Arsonist as well to give yourself a huge mass of larger creatures.
Also, Craterhoof Behemoth could do some huge damage in this deck. Either that or something else that can give some of your creatures trample or evasion to let them definitely get through.

Re: Deck cards to inventory (2 replies, posted in Site Discussion)
The other option is to, when viewing the deck, go to View > Print.
Copy the output from there and Paste it into the List Import box in your Inventory.
That is assuming, of course, that you want to add all of the cards to your inventory and not just some of them.

Re: Change edition? (2 replies, posted in Site Discussion)
Anyone know how to change the edition of the card in the inventory? How do we enter the same card in multiple sets?
Click the arrow next to the card name and choose "Edit Card Details" from the dropdown.
This will popup a window where you can enter the editions for each of the cards.

Well it doesn't actually seem to be TCGPlayer's fault. Maybe deckbox now averages the TCGPlayer prices for all possible printings of a card...
Sebi posted yesterday saying that it was the TCG Player API that was returning the incorrect values.
We've looked at this issue and indeed many things are off, the tcgplayer.com API is returning off values . We've contacted them for more information, waiting for a reply.
Sorry for the temporary inaccuracies.

Re: Stuffy Doll deck help/suggestions (4 replies, posted in Decks and Deckbuilding)
TyWooOneTime, I think the better part of the addition of Vexing Devil is that you can make it fight the Stuffy Doll to automatically deal 4 damage to the opponent. Either that or they take 4 damage to have you sac it.
Another interesting addition with the Stuffy Dolls could be Curse of Bloodletting.
But I definitely agree with imsully2 that Blasphemous Act is definitely a great way to go with Stuffy Doll, but it can get expensive as well. I think keeping green in there and adding in some major ramp could be a great idea, especially because your main combo piece is at 5 CMC.
My suggestion would probably be to add in Borderland Ranger and/or Viridian Emissary for both early blockers and ramp. Also, Krenko's Command could also help with early blockers, as well as increasing the creature count for the Blasphemous Act cost.
Might also want to come up with more ways to make things fight, like Prey Upon, at least for your sideboard, since they could easily destroy your Trackers and then you're hosed in that department. Another option is Daybreak Ranger, which can also deal with flying creatures for you, since that will probably be an issue if you're focusing on green.
Sorry, lots of ideas floating around in my head.

Re: Talrand, Sky Summoner (15 replies, posted in Decks and Deckbuilding)
Chandra, the Firebrand won't work in the way you're thinking it will. Talrand only makes tokens when you cast a spell, and Chandra simply makes another copy of the spell on the stack, it doesn't cast it again.

Re: Talrand, Sky Summoner (15 replies, posted in Decks and Deckbuilding)
I think you need to clear out some of the burn spells for an even better burn spell that would work wonders with this deck..... Burn at the Stake. You're already going to be making tons of tokens and such. With Burn at the Stake if, at any point, you have seven creatures (most likely less than that, if you've attacked even once) then it is a killing blow.

Re: FNM Decks - Elven swarm & Elbrus (7 replies, posted in Decks and Deckbuilding)
Like I said, I've only played at one FNM, so I don't really know too much about the meta, here or anywhere else. I'm not doubting that there are early removal spells, which is also why I want to keep the Invisible Stalkers in, possibly as an even more consistent win condition, and the agents are more just a bonus possible combo.
I think I might drop the two Staff of Nins for two more Silver-Inlaid Daggers, but I'm not entirely sure yet. Like I said, I guess we'll just have to test it and find out!
Thanks for the feedback!

Re: FNM Decks - Elven swarm & Elbrus (7 replies, posted in Decks and Deckbuilding)
The one big reason that I might stick with the Blighted Agents right now is because I happened up this little number, Silver-Inlaid Dagger, which fits perfectly with both Blighted Agent and Invisible Stalker.
In a perfect world, things would fall into place like this:
Island, Silver-Inlaid Dagger
Island, Blighted Agent
Island, Grand Architect, Tap Grand Architect to equip dagger on agent. Swing for 5 poison.
Swing again. GG
That's a turn 4 kill with blue-aggro, assuming no disruption. That's pretty crazy in my mind. And even with some disruption, it probably wouldn't take much after that.
And if I don't get that combo, the dagger on a stalker is almost just as scary since the stalker has Hexproof and can't be blown out of the water with targeted removal.
I do definitely like Dissipation Field though; very interesting card. I have to get out of my EDH, don't do anything to piss people off, mindset to make use of some of those types of cards.
I guess I'll just have to wait and see how the deck does. I'm already liking the looks of it, now I just need to test a few things out.

Topic: FNM Decks - Elven swarm & Elbrus (7 replies, posted in Decks and Deckbuilding)
Apologize in advance for my long-windedness.
So I went to my first FNM this last week. Definitely had some fun, and that was mainly because of the deck that I was playing. Here's the Deck.
It took everybody by surprise, for several reasons.
Nobody plays "Elfball" type decks in the current meta
I had the capability of dumping my entire library to the battlefield, and did so several times. Once on Turn 4.
How did I do this? Extreme mana ramp + Primal Surge. It was the only non-permanent card in my entire deck, so if I ever played it I could put as much of my library into play as I wanted, including my two Craterhoof Behemoths to trample over with everything. My first game of the night I did exactly that on Turn 4. I explained the situation that my entire library was permanents and then he and I literally flipped the entire thing (minus a handful of cards, so I wouldn't deck myself) over onto the battlefield; he conceded right then. Got to do the same thing another couple times as well.
Sadly, with 16 mana dorks composing a majority of the deck, there isn't much I can do if they decided to destroy a few of them in the first few turns. And after the first game with each person, that is generally what happened. I knew it was too good to last. Oh well, it was a hell of a good time.
___________________________________________
Moving on, I decided that I'd like to try making another fun deck for the next FNM that I attend. This time around I'm hoping to do the same type of thing of taking people by surprise, but in a totally different way. Here is the deck I have right now.
The idea is to make use of those unblockable guys, like Invisible Stalker. But instead of just pumping them up for the win, instead use them to activate crazy awesomeness via Elbrus, the Binding Blade // Withengar Unbound. Using the Grand Architects and plethora of blue creatures to quickly pump out some of my bigger artifacts, like Elbrus, Staff of Nin and Wurmcoil Engine (Yes, I know I should probably have more of them, but they're expensive). Then, once I have the big guys up, hopefully I can protect them with a smattering of counters and such.
I'm debating about which creatures and artifacts I all want to include though. For instance, Blighted Agent brings a secondary win condition with poison, but the Neurok Invisimancer allows me to possibly make Elbrus unblockable when it actually comes down to that. And Moonsilver Spear could be a great addition with unblockability, because it is essentially a free 4/4 flier every turn, but I'm not sure what I can compromise to bring it in.
Also, I'm trying to debate if I need to get some more, better qualified blockers into the mix to help buy me some time (Fog Bank?) or if I'd rather just race other aggro type decks.
Thoughts anybody?
Thanks!

Re: Mill Deck...Feedback and Suggestions Welcomed (10 replies, posted in Decks and Deckbuilding)
I have a mill based EDH deck that I run, and I can definitely get behind some of TyWooOneTime's suggestions.
Traumatize is an amazing mill card, and so is Keening Stone. My last game with the deck I combined them, one turn after the other and there was nothing they could do because their library was instantly gone.
Another great one to add into the mix that I don't think was suggested yet is Memory Erosion. It really makes the opponent hold back, because every spell they play causes them to be milled. The same goes for Riddlekeeper; every creature they attack with mills them for another two.
A very interesting card is also Telemin Performance, because it mills them and lets you steal a creature.
For the late game there is also Chancellor of the Spires because it can make use of all of those cards that you milled, and will also help you if it is in your opening hand.
I can probably come up with a lot more, but I'm not sure what format you're going for, so I don't want to lead you too much down the wrong path.
Here is my EDH Mill Deck, feel free to poke around and see what else you might find.
