Oversized Sek'Kuar is listed at $30. TCG shows 86c.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean here. Tokens are already separated by their print version like basic lands. I'm saying that similar tokens should be GROUPED rather than completely separated - each kind of Soldier should get a separate 'card' entry, in other words.

Looking at your original post again it appears as though I didn't read it all the way through, sorry about that. tongue I agree that it would make sense to group different token printings together based on characteristics.

So we have the Shocklands (Hallowed Fountain, Blood Crypt, Breeding Pool etc) that deal 2 damage and tap for 2 colors. What do people think would be the playability of lands that deal 3 damage and taps for 3 colors and call em Bolt lands? Or what about a 5 color bolt land?

As a big EDH player I would love something like this, especially the 5c one.

Tell me your thoughts!

So can a neutral site be used instead? MTGGoldfish and MTGPrice come to mind.

MTGGoldfish uses TCGPlayer pricing data so that isn't an option.

MTGPrice uses aggregated data from several different sites including TCG, Amazon, CFB, etc. That might be an option.

I'm of the opinion that it's only deckbox's responsibility to do accurate pricing to a certain point.
TLDR; don't trust anyone site for prices, do your homework and don't be a fool.

This.

I thought it was usually the monday before the set is released which is typically on a friday, but this time the lists were fully spoiled a full week before the release. It's possible they changed when they release the full spoiler though, or perhaps I just wasn't paying attention.

Ah, I didn't see that you had received your end. Regardless, I suggest opening a BTR so that an admin can step in to try and get the other person to communicate. If after a week the other person still doesn't respond you will be allowed to close the trade and leave feedback.

If it's been over 2 weeks and you've tried to contact them already then start a BTR.

Bump.

It seems like each token should be a separate printing similar to how basic lands are handled.

They're not going to get reprinted, but even if they do the originals will at least retain their value. Magic is growing.

Hey Sebi,  just want to let you know that the full decklists and card images for Commander 2014 are up.

Maybe something like a daily email notification telling you that you forgot to leave feedback would be a good idea to go along with this.

An email will be sent if a message is unread for a certain amount of time. Not sure if it's 12 or 24 hours. Something like that. Just throwing that out there.

I'm with you though, d72B, it would be nice to have a "Send notification" button. It would have to have restrictions on it though. Don't want someone trolling me with 700 emails.

Perhaps the only step that can be cut is the separate Accept/Confirm steps and leave the Proposal/Confirm steps separate.

Not sure if it's been mentioned. Planescape included alternate art foil versions of the following cards: Ertai, the Corrupted; Skyship Weatherlight; and Tahngarth, Talruum Hero. None of these are included in the inventory, and the default picture for Ertai, the Corrupted is in fact the alternate art version.

My questioning results of this logic: in order for Deflecting Palm to be triggered, you need to deal damage. If you deal damage, but also take damage as a result, then damage is applied at the same time everywhere? If that's the case, then it was a tie?

That was my reasoning as well.

Well, since the 11 damage gets reflected back to you, the other person would win.

No, the 11 damage would be redirected at the same time as the other combat damage. So you would take 11 damage from the Deflecting Palm and your opponent would take 12 from the rest of the combat damage, resulting in a tie.

Edit: It's possible I'm wrong here. It's possible the Deflecting Palm damage would happen before the rest of combat damage. Would need a rules judge to verify one way or the other.

Also yes, ties exist and in my opinion are worse than losing. But that's just me big_smile

In most (all that I've seen, but I guess there could be exceptions) a tie is better than a loss. Generally going 2-1-1 will get a prize (or a better prize, depending on the LGS) while 2-2 will not and 3-0-1 will have a better prize than 3-1. Just my experience.

So does that mean if we select that option it is automatically assumed that the card is a foil as well? Or Is there going to be some level of issue with selecting the proper card, then if someone selects foil for the chosen card(which they all are), will that impact how the pricing information is gathered / output from the UI?

AFAIK there is no such thing as a promo that was printed as both a foil and non-foil. As such, each promo will have only 1 price associated with it and that price will be listed whether the foil flag is set or not. It will be up to the traders to know whether the promo is actually foil or not.

The promo flag doesn't do anything. It's just a visual cue. Sebi said at some point that it was going to get removed. Not going to bother finding the post, but he did say that.

Neutral feedback can be used at your discretion. If you weren't particularly happy about how a trade turned out go ahead and leave neutral and say why in the feedback.

As for people claiming non-receipt, there isn't much you can do about that. Sending in a pwe has a chance of getting lost. In almost 190 trades I've only had 1 pwe get lost. It does happen. Sending with tracking should be safer, but I just recently had a bubble mailer go missing (TCGPlayer sale) and unless you have insurance all USPS does is say "Whoops, sorry" and then you eat the loss. For higher value trades I like to take a picture of the cards with the addressed bubble mailer as proof. Also, purchasing shipping labels through Paypal will provide you with proof that the address was entered correctly and whatnot so that should help.

Posting this on the high-end facebook group is probably the easiest way to get rid of it. Take whatever you can get for it there and run.

I tried. My post didn't get approved. I guess this isn't high-end enough for the admins.

Try these groups then:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/1386305538261835/
https://www.facebook.com/groups/MtGBuySellTrade/

The high end group should approve a post with you card in it. Be sure to follow all of their rules, specifically they are very strict about the "every post must have a price" rule. The two groups I linked above are more lenient. You'll probably get some offers there which will help you nail down what people are willing to pay/trade for your card.

I've posted several times in that group and only once or twice did my post get approved even though every single one met their requirements. After this last one I just gave up and left the group. The worst part was a post not getting approved and receiving no explanation as to why.

It's just really hard to value such a thing since the alter through restoration takes from the value of the card. Personally I would look at 2 trops and 2 seas as a reasonable offer. I look at alpha/beta duals like power, they're something easier bought and sold than traded for.

I agree that this card is very difficult to place a value on. When deciding on a value range I looked at the other available copies of English, Black Bordered Tropical Islands and subtracted a percentage from those asking prices. Obviously this can't truly be considered an Alpha dual since it has paint, but it still is english and black bordered which is a big plus. Also, do consider that this restoration was done by Eric Klug who is one of, if not the best magic alterist in the business. I might be interested in your offer. I'll start up a trade so we can talk.
