Well that question is way beyond my depth, I would've guessed the opposite because I thought the Declare Attackers step would be considered simultaneous, if they're able to be declared separately then you can for sure use that trick, however without Omanth all of your mana runs empties from your pool during combat, therefore you can use it to cast instants or for this deck Caller of the Claw only so I would highly suggest putting in another Omnath if you have one, other than that it looks pretty sweet, I like that there are several different ways to win with this deck, it's not just overrun or just mill it's whichever one comes up first smile

All of the points you make are valid and I agree on all points, thinking about it alot of people I know run mana producing artifacts or mana dorks so mana leak is probably better, I just like to suggest alot of things incase you havn't seen them before, the Liege is pretty mean and for this deck probably not worth it's cost, Faces is better IMO, good luck with this deck I like it alot, I've never seen Merfolk used to mill before, i've only seen Zombies and Faeries so it's pretty cool to see, I hope it works out

I'm not familiar with some of the cards myself to be honest, I've just figured out how to search on Gatherer extremely efficiently and I like looking at other people's decks, hopefully it helps

Another quick question, when you use the O-Ring for permanent Exile with the Sundial, do you lose the ring? and if so is it worth it? I have been trying Exclusion rituals but they tend to take too long to get out, T6 removal is pretty slow

Well firstly just on principal I have to suggest removing the Titans and swords, only because I don't like the idea of cards that make pretty much any deck better that being said I actually have some ideas:

First martyr's bond, coupled with grave pact and the butcher ... it gets disgusting really fast three for one, for each opponent

Then cathars' crusade > Juniper Order Ranger especially with Ghave out, think pay 1 to take off a counter, then the crusade puts one back on, its infinite with Ashnod's Altar

Next, the same as everyone else doubling season, blah blah blah, it's amazing but don't stress too much about it, it's really good, but most of the time parallel lives is pretty much just as good especially in your deck because aside from Ghave, the Ranger, spike weaver, and of course the walkers, there's nothing that uses counters and it can screw you over against infect/wither, I run Melira because of that reason.

Another Card I would really push because of experience is Requiem Angel, you get tokens when your non spirit tokens die, therefore you're getting tokens for everything the only exception in your deck is the Geist-Honored Monk, Midnight Haunting, and lingering souls so it's pretty sweet when you sac a Saproling for two mana, your opponents each sac 3 creatures and you get a FLYING token to replace it smile

I'm hardly an expert but I'll give you my personal suggestions

You don't have enough stuff to justify blue, drop every blue card in the deck, including blue flashback, I know the Diregraf Captains are good cards, but trying to add blue won't work unless you design the entire deck around being a fairly even split, I can give you some suggestions for that if you would like

Put in all of your Doom Blades, removal is very important

use Geralf's Messenger, you're gonna have all black mana anyway, that 2 damage is very useful, especially with undying

Grave Defiler, in black decks your graveyard is your friend, if you dump a spell with flashback then it's still useful
Moan of the Unhallowed, it's more efficient than Reap the Seagraf, you're getting twice the tokens for only one more mana and again I'm saying go Mono-Black so the color doesn't matter

Zombie Master, one of the best Zombies around for mono-black, Use it for sure

Ghoul Raiser, again Graveyard is your friend, you don't have to be afraid to kill off a zombie if you can bring them back to your hand, especially true when it comes to zombies with undying, if you bring them back they'll have to get killed 4 times before they're done

Another card that isn't listed but that works really well with the Zombie master is Evil Presence, it makes all of your zombies unblockable by whichever opponent you enchant

One other thing is that you should import your library because sometimes there are cards that you have that would work well that you don't even know about, like a combo that works really well

Hopefully this advice helps a bit, if it does or you have any questions please let me know

Why bother putting them back in the deck? Library of Leng, Venser's Journal, Spellbook, Reliquary Tower, Anvil of Bogardan, Praetor's Counsel, just keep em in your hand, and most of them are affordable, I would recommend the Library because it protects against hostile discard as well

Also the idea of a bear deck is awesome

Oops forgot about flying: Spidersilk Armor, Treetop Defense, or surprise them with Corrosive Gale, I'm not sure how effective your Katabatic Winds would be although it is pretty cool, for lockdown you would need 2 out at the same time, so I would recommend Spidersilk

First I think that it's awesome to make tribal-type decks with a purpose smile

Second, you seem to need a LOT of mana to pull this stuff off, your mana short is a bit pricey, I'm assuming you would use it immediately after an opponent's untap step, or right before their end step but even still it seems like trying to pay for mana leaks would be pretty difficult, Force Spike is the better option, if a bit more expensive, and I won't bother suggesting Flusterstorm because quite frankly it's not worth the money in my opinion.

Another Possibility for counter if you can drain their pool is Cursecatcher

Also Phantasmal Terrain is nice but you're running Merfolk, use Aquitect's Will

Next a card that would work extremely well with this deck is Faces of the Past, an amazing untap engine especially for a tribal deck that uses tapping so regularly (I've actually tried to design a deck that it works well in and your deck fits it way better)

Why have Jace Beleren?? If you have Memory Adept he seems like the better option

Other blue cards I love to use for mill: Traumatize and Jace's Erasure, if you're drawing cards the Erasure can be better than the curse of the bloody tome and traumatize... Well I mean gotta love it with Keening Stone

I hope some of these ideas help

Just saw another card, Murkfiend Liege, I'm not sure if I recommend it because it isn't tribal but it suits the mechanics

I don't really see the win condition, do you just make a lot of geist's tokens and overrun with venser's unblockability?

x4 Bitterheart Witch, I would autoinclude her, you NEED to get out the curse of misfortunes and so you could use as much tutoring for it as possible, I would also say try to get ahold of a Grave Pact if possible, I must say it's hard to run enchantments without much white or green to protect them, for example Sterling Grove can really make a difference in protecting your curses but it would be too hard to splash every color, another thing is that you should include some sort of creature removal (again the Grave Pact is very nice) because until you get out the right enchantments your opponents will probably be able to run all over you, lastly you should consider adding more lands, or at least swap some out for lands like Terramorphic Expanse or Evolving Wilds so you can get the colors you want, hopefully this helps a bit

Back to the Germans I don't quite understand the Deranged Assistants you aren't running any reanimation or anything to work with your graveyard so it doesn't seem like a good fit, I'm assuming you're going for mana acceleration so I would recommend Bog Initiate/Sea Scryer for 2 drops or Vesper Ghoul/Bog Witch for 3 drops, if you want to stick to what you've got the most closely, however I have found that with mill it often works to include self-mill so you can pull stuff out of your graveyard

I like your Captain America deck, however I think you need something for mana fixing, I have never been successful running 3 non-green colors with only basic lands and no color-fixing artifacts, but maybe that's just me, i'm not sure. And as far as fling, you're rarely going to be flinging anything that'll do more than 1-2 damage so you're probably better off with something like bolt or incinerate, although fling is more fun

For nightmare 2 I would go all out for the permanent exile Sundial trick, skip unsummons, you have Aether Adepts to do that, go for glimmerpoint stags if you want to do it alot because they're easy repeatable flicker on your opponent's permanents. Other than that I really like the design, it's very similar to the Flicker deck i've been working on,
http://deckbox.org/sets/182259 if you're interested, I'm also curious about how well the Geist of Saint Traft has been working, can you regularly get the token and exile an opponent's card?

Altered Knight, I would push the opposite that TyWooOneTime suggested, push for more red, Skyknight Legionnaire works well and gives you flying defense, any of the soulbond knights from AVR are good to consider, especially if you're trying to keep red in the mix, if you decide to drop it Pentarch Paladin is at least worth considering for the sideboard as it can tear mono colored decks apart, Sworn Defender is a card I like because it can promise that you're going to have a huge blocker against big trampley things.

Spirit Looks really good to me accept shriekgeist, I don't see a milling sub-theme at all so I would say drop them and pick up 2 more Niblis of the Urn

I won't even Comment on the Delver, I can't afford snapcasters so I couldn't help out anyway

Your mono-green has nothing huge, no land tutoring and no strength boosting enchantments, I feel like you're trying to play mind games with some of the cards, and that's not usually how green works well in my experience, it wants to get really big really fast and stomp face, I would keep the birds, the slime and maybe the briarpack, but I wouldn't use any of the other creatures, I personally like to use Greater Basilisk, it's a big creature that can block almost anything and live, also you seem to be very afraid of flying, so I would run some flying removal rather than so much flying and reach I like Wing Puncture and Ulvenwald Tracker, especially if you're running deathtouch, also Kessig Recluse is a nice flying blocker.

For your MP Nightmare I feel like only having one win condition is a little bit too limited, Serra Ascendants are one way to have another win condition with the same deck goals, but as it is if you're facing any artifact removal this deck won't really have anywhere to go, my advice? Splash in some big angels, they don't need to be amazing ones, Serra Angel is a good choice, otherwise Guardian Seraph, Requiem Angel (works well with the soul sisters), or Victory's Herald

To be honest, part of it has to do with the fact that a playset of any of the other flicker creatures cost less than she does, on top of that she's limited to your creatures and at least with my deck flying isn't really an issue because I usually have flying golems before any of the biggest angels come out. I think that it could be good to start flickering on t4 but I have the glimmerpoint stags for that, by the time I could play one I usually already played a wingcrafter, a cathedral sanctifier and a blade splicer so I have a 3/3 flying first strike golem, then t4 I either flicker the blade with a glimmerpoint or put out a wingcrafter.

IMO Restoration angel is a bit overrated, not worth 7$, but if I had some I would probably include 2 but no more than that.

The only reason that I'm keeping it standard is because the people I know play standard sad Roil is really cool though, I have one myself, Also as far as the closet I use it because of the glimmerpoint stags, this way I can flicker anything that I have OR anything that my opponent has, that allows me even more shenanigans, i've also considered splashing green to pick up either parallel lives/maul splicer (more tokens) or red for warstorm surge because that could get pretty mean

As far as permanent exile the Phyrexian Ingesters and Exclusion Rituals both permanently exile something each time you flicker them without losing your card, so that's why I'm not a big fan of the Sundial, I would only use it with glimmerpoint stag, flicker the stag to flicker their anything then sundial to exile it but to be honest it's too complicated and I just don't want to have to explain it every time I use it since I don't have a consistent playgroup sad

Back to the closet however I am thinking about dropping them into sideboard to add in my extra Deadeye Navigators because they have been a lot more consistent, the ability to flicker things during my opponent's turn has been amazing, for 1U I can counter any spell that targets a permanent of mine so I think you're right about that.

I didn't have good results with the Nephalia Smuggler though, it was too expensive and I don't have an untap engine that makes it worth the extra cost

Right now i'm trying to decide if I need more card advantage, the cards I'm thinking about are Tower Geist and Gryff Vanguard

I am also testing alot of different token generators to see which I like the best, I might end up keeping in a Myr Battlesphere, 4 little myr per flicker and it can swing for TONS of damage after 1-2 flickers although flying tokens do sound sweet, especially on a vigilant body, the main reason I have not tested out the monk is because I don't have any yet (working on it) and my only cathar's crusade is in my Ghave EDH deck and it's too amazing in there to pull it out, once I get another one I'll test it out though

Getting the land that I need has been an issue for me and so I tried (unsuccessfully) to splash green  for the sole purpose of adding in Borderland Rangers but it got too unfocused, everything would be alot easier out of standard

But anyway in doing all of this the one thing I have decided is that Glimmerpoint Stag is now my favorite card for flicker because it's a perfect proxy, you can flicker anything with it and it's super easy to target with any of the flicker engines both of us use so if you've got any I would test it out, it's ridiculous, also I don't see an easy way for you to include it but training grounds could really improve the Smugglers, the Navigator is just fine without but I found the 4 mana very restrictive, which is why I turned to the closet for free flicker, I wish training grounds was standard sad

After seeing your flicker I decided to try my own, I took alot of the base design of yours (sorry for stealing it) but changed what the goal was, mine's made to pop out tokens and exile opponent's creatures permanently (there's also a mean shape anew into blightsteel combo in the sideboard but I usually play too casually to use it),  it's also a standard deck which changes a few things, I'd love to hear your ideas

http://deckbox.org/sets/182259

I'm not sure how to change it but you could just send them a message with the correct address

I have seen Damia before and she's sweet, I am wondering about Bloodstained Mire and Flooded Strand, I am assuming you include them so that you may fetch a dual land but I feel like they would be better utilized in another deck, of course this is coming from the perspective of someone with no dual lands at all so I could easily be underestimating their value but why not run Misty Rainforest instead of either of them?

I included the birds because of the fact that the deck often has trouble gaining speed right away, it's not the best and I am looking for something to replace it however, tatterkite is only in there because it's a fun infinite combo with Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and any of my sac engines, they're also both in there because I don't know what else to run instead. As far as the sigil captain, i think you're absolutely right but I'm not sure what else to use, I had a phytohydra in there for a while but I never even played it, if anyone has any ideas about what to replace any of these with they would be greatly appreciated (I am willing to trade to get what I need) Also I'm trying to decide if I want to run lands like isolated chapel over orzhov basilica and razorverge thicket over selesnya sanctuary, any experience on which is better?

In regards to your "Germans" If you're running U/B Mill and are willing to trade for some specific cards, Geth, Lord of the Vault is sweet in standard, and Hedron Crab, Nemesis of Reason, Traumatize, and keening stone for extended, those are just the ones I like, if you want to go into modern then Oona, Queen of the Fae is pretty sweet, depending on the deck you're facing, obviously not nearly as good against tri color decks but she can tear up mono-decks, again these are just the mill cards I like.

That's very true, again I only use it as insurance, i.e. you're nearly tapped out or don't have cards in hand that you need, but for the most part unnecessary in a good flicker deck

I also forgot to mention Conjurer's Closet, it's not nearly as cool as other cards because it's limited to creatures, but it can be useful especially since it's free every turn

For your Power Bill Deck have you considered Wall of Denial? It's kind of anti the entire theme of your deck but it's able to hold back most of what your opponents throw at you, it's like an insurance card for me personally but again it kinda contradicts the entire flicker theme

Garruk is my #1 but if you have a different offer I'd love to hear it

Wishlist:

Another possibility which works well with the aforementioned combo is Mystic Snake, if you want a repeatable counter

This deck looks pretty sweet, I don't quite understand the commander though, I feel like The Mimeoplasm could work better than Vorosh, the Hunter, it just seems to fit the theme of the deck better but I could easily be missing something, also I'm not sure if there are more unlisted cards because it's currently only at 95

This is my Ghave EDH, I'm still pretty new to the format and not completely sure of how to build my deck, I also don't have many people to test it against so any advice would be greatly appreciated, there are a good number of cards that aim for infinite combos (ie Presence of Gond + Sunstrike/Midnight Guard) and then its mostly saccing tokens to different engines for whatever you need

Thanks for the Help!
