Okay! I'm actually Navy, so I'm always down for spreading the love to our military brethren.

Nice! Gabi's the best. I've got an LGS down here in South Carolina that is decent, but mostly it just makes me miss Gabi's.

Awesome!

Please*. I'm sure the comment above mine was meant to be respectful and thankful for all the hard work we take for granted so often. Thank you!

My name is David and I started this group years ago when I still lived in Washington State. I now live in South Carolina, but would love to see the group be useful to people who still live back home. Let me know if any of you are interested in becoming Admin, so that I can pass over control to you.

Thread necromancy in progress. Any update on this?
I google searched the site, and found no other mentions of it, so I was left with "Animate Thread" as my line of play.

Why not just use TCGplayer, like we used to? Was there an issue with coding? Or intellectual property? Or...?
It seems that with the new pricing, prices vary wildly from day to day. I haven't had a trade be consistent two days in a row since we went to Deckbox pricing.

Anybody play the prerelease over at Gabi's? How did you do? Did you feel like the set lived up to expectations?

Not looking for trades right now.
But, I have  126 pages of inventory and was going to go through them and remove stuff I was never going to use. The site doesn't seem to have an easy way to remove stuff except maybe to set up a dummy account, create a trade, and accept the trade to remove it from my inventory. Anybody have an easier way than that, or searching every single card?

I'm really intersted in getting the local environment fired up about this group and getting local trades vs mail trades. Any of you use the forums?

I take it these aren't as popular right now?

Just pulled two from an Origins pack. Light me up with trade offers.

Thursday, November 5 at Gabi's, I'll be playing a mock prerelease for BFZ. A couple buddies missed the prerelease, so we're doing a six pack sealed tourney.

Any interest in a meet and greet? Maybe some trading?

Welp, you've just replaced TCGPlayer for my larger orders. Great job guys!

This is true.

I don't need them, I'd love to trade them away as a set for some stuff on my wishlist.

Fantastic!!! LOVE THIS!!!

Had a crazy semester, crazy year, for that matter. I missed pretty much all of Theros.

What's new? Anything? Anybody still playing pauper?

Bump. smile

Initial playtests are strong even though it's an old list. Thoughts?

Thank you for bumping!! Take the following with a grain of salt. I am a casual player, but I play a lot of paper pauper against my buddies, and we netdeck about half the time, so our pauper meta is pretty competitive.

skyblinder staff is pretty cool, but expensive and not as strong with delver of secrets, a strong component of your mirror, across the table

White weenies usually uses bonesplitter in a similar capacity and the equip is friendlier.

A good place to get "current pauper metagame" is http://www.mtggoldfish.com/metagame/pauper. It's the online meta, and online is a bit different than being able to bluff out a live opponent so the card choices are a bit different.

One other comment I have is your use of evolving wilds and it's ilk. That really slows down your deck. I know that theoretically it thins it and that's all well and good in a more traditional format, but pauper is fast. Like turn 4 fast, and almost every deck is some aggro variant. Fetch lands are strictly worse than a basic land in this format, unless you need 3-4 colors, and that's, more often than not, suicide. Guildgates are even a risk, in my opinion. That being said, there are some grindy decks in pauper, and you're suited to shut down the fast decks like Green Stompy, and Wee Fiend, because of your creature removal.

Gray Merchant of Asphodel

Strategies for it, against it? It's such an awesome card, but I hate seeing it across the table. smile

Thraben Valiant

I've had my eye on her for forever as one of the sexiest card arts ever... And yours are definitely the better of the ones I've ever seen. Any chance you'd be up for a special request?

^That's what I have so far... And it doesn't work that well. For being what I think is synergistic, it has 90% failed draws that never lead to good board presence. And it's not a lack of finishers that seems to hamper me, I don't even get within striking distance most times.

I'm admittedly a lousy control player, and there's a good bit of that in there.
