Memnarch + Mycosynth Lattice is good at taking stuff.

I used to have a deck with Invoke Prejudice x4 and Limited Resources x4. I was definitely the biggest A-hole at the table when I played that deck.

The Can give / receive column has a ? with mouseover text that states that this is the number of cards the user needs from you and the number you need from them, but it's not. It's the total value of those cards on both sides. They could have one card on your trade list worth $80 or four cards you need at $20/each.

While the value isn't terrible information, I would much rather have that column show the number of cards as I think it's intended.

I managed to win both the Saturday and Sunday gamedays at my LGS.  I am now left with an extra playmat.  eBay has them selling for $45-55.  I'll sell it for $40 with free shipping.

Open a trade if you are interested.

Congrats! Just curious what you played.

Deliberate attempt to circumvent Deckbox rules... I'm pretty sure that's ban-worthy.

Hi, I am trying to get into d&d and wouldn't mind trading some magic stuff away for some figurines and maybe a nice dice-set. A dwarf figurine would be at the top of my wishlist.  If you have any figurines you would be willing to trade please open up a discussion and I am sure we could work something out! Thanks!

Have you seen this...

This is the second one Reaper has done, the first being wildly successful (at the time, it was top-5 grossing Kickstarter when it ended at $3.4MM).

It doesn't matter if they get the cards or not. The codes are to be used for ONE card each. Sure, a lot of us probably went to 4 different stores with it but nobody tried bringing other people into by TAKING THEIR CARDS for a code that's already been used.

Is this common knowledge that codes can be reused? Were other trades going on on deckbox involving these codes? Please let us know at support@deckbox.org . We are probably going to gather more information and contact Wizards regarding this.

Yes, it is.

There are a few people on this site who had 5+ copies of the Scavenging Ooze promo in their tradelist only a couple days after the offer went live. They probably bought one copy of the game and shopped the code around to multiple stores. There is nothing that you, as Deckbox, can do to prevent them from doing that, but putting a stop to trading the codes is a good move on your end.

odanjames wrote:

every trader im talking to will be going to a store redeeming these codes getting their cards before i have them send anything to me i honestly don't care what u all think. if they get there and dont recieve there packs then they wont send me anything and case will be closed .

OK, then boy have I got a deal for you! Just hear me out...

You trade me your 4 Voice of Resurgence and, in return, I'll give you a code to be used at a time machine that will be invented in 2037, that you can use to go back in time to buy a Mox Ruby for $15! I mean, I'm practically giving it away... in the past. Do we have a deal?

Cowabunga2    as i told other, my husband had a credit with steam and we cashed it out to be able to get some kind of value from it.

That's what was told to me when I asked about the legitimacy of the promo codes. To me, that implies that they cashed out Steam credit to buy enough copies of the game to actually have all the promo codes they were trading, which is clearly not the case.

I think the mods were told one thing and, in reality, it's something entirely different going on.

Technically you are, people buy these games and when they go redeem the codes at a store they are usually always out of the promo packs. The point is more you are lining your pocket's with ill gotten gains.

This right here.

You are actually scamming stores by spreading out hacked or previously redeemed codes.  There was a major problem with this last year and it caused a lot of potential new, or newly started players to miss out on something that they should have rightfully received.

I felt that your pushiness when you offered me a playset of codes was the attitude of someone who had to offload something that was stolen, or counterfeit.  I have no way of proving that it actually is, but if you have as many codes as offers that you have opened (and judging by your trade page, that is a LOT of codes), then you either: a) bought 40+ copies of DOTP2014 for PC/tablet/whatever, or b) found a way to crack the code pattern.

If it is a, then not really the brightest business decision, unless you're running an arcade.  If b, then you should be reported and banned.

He's doing one of two things...

1. He or someone else cracked the key generator code and he's just spewing out fake codes to everyone for whatever he can get.

2. He had four (4) legit key codes from buying that many copies of the game, which he already redeemed for himself. Knowing that the game stores don't log the codes in anywhere as "redeemed" he's now trading those same four codes out to random people to redeem at their LGS.

The first one is scumbaggery at its finest, but the second should be a deckbox bannable offense, and here's why. Each of those codes should be viewed as if it were a single card, one card per code, just as if I had one copy of Scavenging Ooze in my trade list. Once I trade that ooze, I cannot trade it to 17 other people as it's already gone. If these guys are trading the same code to multiple people, then that's like trading cards they don't own. Furthermore, someone could attempt to redeem a code and find no LGS within a reasonable distance with them still in stock, hence they traded cards for nothing.

It's my opinion that the mods should attempt to contact people that made trades for these codes and ask them to see said codes. If there are duplicates - bans should be swift. Also, I think the site rules should be amended to prevent trading of these game codes. If you want to trade promo Scavenging Ooze, then go get the cards yourself and put them in your trade list.

JackSwindle wrote:

Looks like he traded them off of Cowabunga2.  Cowabunga2 got them from hacking the game, or from someone who's hacked or by some other illicit means.  He would have given you a code for a $5 card.  You got swindled.  Especially since no stores (least none in my area) even have them anymore.  No stores had steam ones after the second day because of the stupid hack shit.

But good luck trading them!

Yea, that dude tried to dump a bunch of codes on me. He told me that he, or whoever, cashed out a game credit card on copies of DotP and that's why he had so many to trade... so I took a look at his current pending trade list.

At the time, Cowbunga2 had 24 Pending Trades. Of those 24, 17 of them were offering Scavenging Ooze promo codes for other people's cards. In those 17 trades, Cowbunga2 was offering a total of 61 promo codes and, with the cheapest price on Steam being $9.99, that means they would have had to cash out over $600 on credit.

Bullshit.

OK, for once I had the good luck. Box contained Xenagos, Erebos, Nylea, Fleecemane Lion and some scry land. Only used Erebos, but he kicked some ass. Went 4-0 and got 10 packs, which I haven't opened yet. Good times.

I have 2 Fulminator Mages and 3 Living Ends for trade and I'd like to take a look at your list to see if I need anything from it for my cube.

I, too, am building a Restore Balance deck. Other than the lands, you should be able to get just about everything by trading/selling your two Fullminator Mages. I don't think any of the cards (other than lands) are over 2-bucks. Good luck!

Soooo true. If you are not interested, nothing wrong with that, but no need to bash his thread! Let people make their own decisions!

You only say this bc you have been running a scam with scavenging ooze promos. The community isn't rude, just looking out for users that don't know what mapping is. There are people out there that are willing to scam because they have no face to face contact.

What sort of scam with promos? You can email me the details if you don't want to further muddy up this thread. I'm quite curious. Thanks.

Maybe the boxes are mapped and maybe they're not, but the important thing to remember here is... not everyone even knows that box-mapping is possible. There are threads on reddit at least once a month where someone talks about it and I see a few replies asking what box-mapping even is or if it's possible. So, while few of us made no attempt to sugar-coat our replies, I think we were providing valuable incite into what could very well have happened to those two boxes.

Hell, I'm almost tempted to drop some cash on the boxes just so I can post the list of rares/mythics. If I was wrong, and there were some Sphinx's Revelation, Deathrite Shaman or Shock Lands, I would be happy to include an apology to the guy... but I'm thinkin' there won't be.

joshbillings wrote:

The shrinkwrap was removed, but nothing was tampered with (Scaled, Mapped, etc).

Why would you remove the shrink wrap if you weren't going to open the packs?

I'm just going to tell you what every-single-person who reads this is going to think... You bought a case, opened all the boxes, mapped them, took out anything/everything worth over $3 and put the absolute dogshit packs filled with Azor's Elocutors and Search the City back in two boxes.

Good luck.

I don't think that is the message per say.  Although with a $50 trade it starts to get to the value that they probably should have, but I understand not paying $1.69 for every trade + penny sleeves + top loaders + bubble mailers.

Delivery confirmation is the answer to most of the issues people post about in this forum. In the case of this trade, both parties could quickly and easily see if said package ever left it's origin or if it just sat there with the status, "Electronic Shipping Info Received" which means a shipping label was created, but nothing was ever mailed. DC would also show if the package was weirdly routed to Alaska and then disappeared, which gives you solid proof to file a complaint with the USPS for a lost package. As it stands, these guys have to say, "derp, I mailed an envelope from this place a couple weeks ago, did you lose it?"

Also, the whole $1.69 + sleeve/top-loader + bubble mailer... that's what we call the cost of doing business. If you can't afford it, you probably shouldn't be trading on the Internet. I find it funny that people will double sleeve a card and put their own playmat over a store mat, but when it comes time to mail a card... here you go USPS, take this $50 card in a regular envelope, add it to the 440,000,000 other pieces of mail you received today and we'll all just hope everything goes as planned.

As someone who is all about DC and proper packaging material, I wouldn't mind if those items were added as check boxes when creating a new trade. I look through someone's stuff, pick out $27 in cards, check the boxes for DC/bubble mailer and it adds another $3 bringing my total to $30. If I receive the cards and they're in a standard envelope and/or a DC was never provided... boom, negative feedback.

So, just because I'm having a bit of a tough time following along, was there no Delivery Confirmation on the one set of cards so now this is a big, "he said, she said" argument over whether or not they were actually sent? If so... USE DELIVERY CONFIRMATION!

The one thing I think would be nice (really nice) to see on the forums, maybe in the box-area with your name and other info, is some detail on what sort of trades are pending on that username. Perhaps icons with numbers beside them, just like each user's actual trade page. If not on the forum, for whatever reason, then it would be great to have it on each user's home page so I can immediately see what someone has going on.

It would be nice to see, at a quick glance, that a guy asking to trade for Tarmogoyf x4 has...

Multi-direction arrow -  27 active trades
Bus with down arrow - 16 packages on the way to him
Bus with up arrow - 2 packages shipped out

I can immediately see that said guy is either about to scam his way off Deckbox or he's just amazingly slow and probably someone I don't want to trade with either way.

M14 isn't for sale until Friday, so the likelihood of someone having a playset of M14 Mutavaults right now is pretty low.

Am I the only person that didn't print out the same code multiple times and take it to different stores?

I can ship out June 9, however you'd like it shipped.  Prop a trade and we can discuss additional details.

NOT interested in trades for it.  Cash/Paypal only.

You should really wait until you have it in-hand before attempting to sell something you don't have. There are a lot of places that did pre-orders for $140-160 before the hype was at the level it is now and, honestly, it will be interesting to see if they all come through. Yea, it's shitty to cancel your pre-order and go for the extra money... but there are going to be some places that do it. It may not even be completely malicious either, a lot of places did pre-orders before they knew how many boxes they were getting. If they did pre-orders for 50 boxes and they're only getting 35, then some people are going to get shafted.

So, yea, you should wait until you have the box in hand before selling it.

Edit bump!
