Hey all. So I just cracked a box of EoE and pulled a Galaxy Foil Watery Grave. Problem is that is is scratched to all hell. I was wondering if anyone here has had to go through WotC support for getting a single card replaced. I already submitted the ticket, but I was hoping to pick the brain of someone that has done this and can give insight to what is in store for me.

Only ever for sealed product. For Booster product, I'm not sure how they deal with it. Wishing you the best with that. I hope they sort it for you!

I have with a surge foil. Typically you send a complaint in with pictures of the card and the SN on the box and they get back to you within a week. Then you wait about 2 months for a reply with either, we will replace the card once you send it back to "address" or they just send you a new one if the card is cheap enough.

Reach out to SengirHellLord. He's had multiple interactions with them over this exact issue.
I'll be honest, from our conversations, I'd keep expectations low.

Yeah, not surprised that they are going to be very slow at responding. In general it seems like out of my two boxes, there were a lot of the foils that had these scratches on them. I guess it's just a wait and see game now.

I believe I've done a trade with them recently, so I'll reach out and see what their tick was. Thanks for that!

I probably do the most Product Replacements of anyone I know lol. I usually am doing it for SL but have also recently submitted some for Tarkir and FF.

They can be picky about what they will and won’t replace. Providing clear and concise pics of the damage and box the card came from is essential. My Tarkir openings were an unmitigated disaster - scratches all over, including Ghost foils and Dragonscale fetches. When I submitted the ticket, they responded that they’d only replace with CBs (that’s all I purchased). But when it came to FF, they are doing a 1:1 replacement. Given the demand of FF, I can only assume they don’t have suitable stock to warrant the replacements or they just won’t give them away.

It’s honestly a toss up, but my hunch is they’ll respond with a CB replacement offer.

I’m still waiting on my Tarkir packs, which I submitted the ticket for shortly after launch, FYI.

Well, crap. I hope my partner didn't take out the recycling, because the box i pulled the package from is in there. The box it's and the pack wrapper had no visible damage on it. I hope that doesn't kill my chances.

Thanks for the feedback, sounds like I'll be waiting quite a while for a resolution.

I had a partial experience trying to replace my SLD Teferi's protection that had some corner damage. At that time I had to return it and they "couldn't guarantee a NM replacement, but would replace it with the best replacement they had available". I found this strange as before (2018 or so) they would just send me a new card. In the end I decided it wasn't worth it as it was minor corner damage. As for sealed product replacements, they usually had sent them without problems or requiring a return such as a collector sampler missing from a precon, or a tampered collector booster.
