Topic: v4.1: Negative feedback without approval.Trade disputes. Fate Reforged

Trade dispute changes

As announced and discussed in the earlier announcement post at the end of Decemeber, we will implement a couple of changes dealing with trade feedback and disputes.

First, users are now freely allowed to leave negative feedback without administrator approval. Please note that you need to have a reason for it, according to the rules and guidelines outlined in the rules document (see  updateded section 3.2.

http://deckbox.org/help/trade_rules

If someone leaves you negative feedback for no reason though, please open a trade dispute case and if he cannot justify it, we will remove it.

Second bigger change is that we will not be handling trade disputes in public anymore. Trade disputes can be  pened from the trade page, and will be privately visible to the 2 trade partners and the deckbox administrators.

It is possible that after a test period of a couple of weeks to see how the system works, we will allow 2-3 volunteers from the community that have a record of fairness and community involvement to help if they wish to do so (much like the previous BTR volunteers). The decision on this issue is not yet final, we'll see how the new  process works.

The result of this change for the users is that there will be better tools for admins to deal with the trade disputes, faster notifications and responses, better visibility for dispute cases (users involved will see a notification on their profile in the menu, and will receive emails). It also allows admins to easier see statistics on a users dispute history.

Users constantly involved in a large number disputes relative to the number of total trades will be warned, and subsequently suspended.

Further on, we will move the Bad Trader List out of the forum as well into a special site page that will be easier to search, in the near future.

I will port the ongoing BTRs to the new system today, and address outstanding and open support requests.

Re: v4.1: Negative feedback without approval.Trade disputes. Fate Reforged

I like the changes in general. I understand the reasoning for making trade disputes private. It is fair. My only request is can we get an indicator or number of how many trade disputes a person has had made against them or how many open trade disputes each user has at a given time? My thought being if someone is a scammer I wouldn't want to make a trade with that person if there is a large number of pending disputes.

Re: v4.1: Negative feedback without approval.Trade disputes. Fate Reforged

I agree that an indicator telling us a user is currently involved in an ongoing trade dispute would be good.

That or suspend new trades (both sending and receiving) while there is a dispute open.

This might be open to abuse. I'm a fan of an indicator, but automatically suspending trades while a dispute is open might be a bit much.

How about just disable the 'Accept Trade' and 'Propose Trade' buttons? That way they can continue discussing ongoing and new trades, but won't be able to finish/confirm them until the dispute is settled.

Edit: The above possibly in addition to what PhillipW suggested, an indicator on the trade pages.

Re: v4.1: Negative feedback without approval.Trade disputes. Fate Reforged

So, I've found what seems to be a relevant bug:
http://imageshack.com/a/img673/8324/C85C6A.jpg
This occurs when attempting to access a current trade dispute that shows up in the 'Messages' tab up the top.

I should note that this also occured when I was attempting to set up my Seller Account.

Re: v4.1: Negative feedback without approval.Trade disputes. Fate Reforged

It seems the arrow button to move cards from main to sideboard isn't working anymore. Clicking on it simply selects the row.
Could reproduce in Firefox and Chrome.

Wonderful, but all the cards are not categorised in my decklist when I've added them to a deck.
They now reside in their own 'category' with a number (e.g. "(3)") with no label.
See https://deckbox.org/sets/877956 for a few examples.
This can be reproduced for all cards in FRF.

Re: v4.1: Negative feedback without approval.Trade disputes. Fate Reforged

Fate Reforged cards aren't showing up properly in the right header.  SS includes creatures but tested for all card types. Enchantments aren't even going into the same group header.

Re: v4.1: Negative feedback without approval.Trade disputes. Fate Reforged

Great changes.  Any chance you'll be offering an "Oversized Commander" option for the C14 walkers, like you have for C13?  Right now I have my oversized C14 cards listed as promo & foil, but that's a band-aid solution.

Re: v4.1: Negative feedback without approval.Trade disputes. Fate Reforged

In the edition checklist, shouldn't Fate Reforged be placed above Khans of Tarkir? in the previous blocks the 1st set is at the bottom and the 2nd is above it.

Re: v4.1: Negative feedback without approval.Trade disputes. Fate Reforged

I have a beginner's question... how do you add an entire set to your wishlist?  Like is there any easier way to do it than going one by one in the database and adding 1 to everything?

Re: v4.1: Negative feedback without approval.Trade disputes. Fate Reforged

You can easily do that using the edition checklist feature of the premium account.  Sign up for a trial and check it out.

I've found, however, that unless you've just got single copies of a few cards, it's significantly faster to filter the card database according to your need, then just enter the data on that screen.

The inability to enter data numerically on the checklist screen slows it WAY down.

i have found this to be true as well, i bought premium to use the edition checklist feature to database my collection, but i ended up importing 1 of everything from the sets i played in, deleting the rares and mythics, then filtering my inventory for the set i was currently on.

I think the edition checklist feature is a great tool, but i feel it could be improved by adding, as stated before the ability to enter numerically.  i also think the ability to filter the edition checklist in the same way you can with your inventory would be useful (sorting by color, rarity, CMC etc.), as well as more freedom to use the mass import tool; currently mass import can import 1 or 4 of all the cards in a set to my inventory, tradelist or both, why not allow mass import to be customized to allow any number of cards of either all of a set, or parts, like rarity, or color.

I don't regret purchasing premium, and i like the edition checklist feature (it was the reason i bought premium) but i feel like it could be expanded upon, and made much more useful.

Re: v4.1: Negative feedback without approval.Trade disputes. Fate Reforged

Indeed, we have a bunch of improvements in mind for the edition checklist page already (filtering & sorting options at the very least).

Regarding the numeric input, do you usually input a large number of cards at once? For me, when there are between 0 and 4 cards of a type i found it pretty fast to just click the "+" button quickly a couple of times for the card.

That way I can add them with a single hand on the mouse, and the other hand free to go through the actual cards. Text input would require you to click something, and then to also use the keyboard to put the number in.

Does that make sense?

Re: v4.1: Negative feedback without approval.Trade disputes. Fate Reforged

When someone posts in a private trade dispute, their post is showing up on the community pages in the "community news" feed .

Yes, makes sense. And, I've found the "+" button to be slow for reasons I mentioned in a different thread. It disappears after you click it, and you have to move the mouse to reactivate it. Also, you have to pause for a beat for the data to update.

My ideal situation on the checklist page would be to do this:

  • Place focus on quantity field of the first card in a set

  • type in the amount I have for that set

  • hit enter. focus goes to quantity for trade for that card.

  • type the amount I have for trade, hit enter, focus goes to quantity for the second card, etc.

This is significantly faster than using a mouse for any quantities over one per card, and also only takes one hand while entering data.  (The page could also use a "-" button in case I do off-site trades/sales.)

Adding this functionality to what's already there allows the checklist page to be usable in both primary data entry needs: I've got a pack or two of cards to enter ("+" button), or I've got a box of cards to enter (numeric input).

Right now, the latter is way, way, too slow on that page.

Re: v4.1: Negative feedback without approval.Trade disputes. Fate Reforged

When are we going to get the Fage Reforged prerelease promos and the Ugin's Fate cards, if I may ask?
