    Back when I first started playing Magic in high-school, I wasn't good (although it could be argued that I just didn't have good cards.) The only deck I ever built that seemed to win, let alone work, was a deck I built around the Maro creature,..I was lucky enough to get a set of 4 out of booster packs. I upgraded this deck recently using some of the newer cards I own.
